Aid group is saving Puerto Rico’s STRAY DOGS…

Apparently there’s a group dedicated to saving Puerto Rico’s most important residents, in their eyes…. the stray dogs.

A group devoted to caring for Puerto Rico’s abandoned dogs was able to fly 60 animals off the hurricane-devastated island on Saturday, heading to new lives on the U.S. mainland.

Getting ready for the most important freedom flight we have ever done….. #WeRemainSatoStrong

Hey that’s great. It’s not like human beings could use that aid…

he Sato Project — “sato” being a Puerto Rican slang term for a mixed-breed dog — takes care of and finds adoptive homes for canines on Playa Lucia in the municipality of Yabucoa. Playa Lucia is commonly known as “Dead Dog Beach,” because of its reputation as a dumping ground where people abandon unwanted dogs. Many of those dogs are not spayed and neutered, which had led the population to explode.

AND…

But the group did manage to save dozens of dogs in their care. A local volunteer brought 53 dogs into her home in the mountains, where they rode the storm in crates balanced on concrete blocks to keep them out of the water. Volunteers also rescued several dogs in the storm’s aftermath, including a pregnant female and a puppy with an injured leg.

I think this is rather shameful. These people have every right to waste their money however they want, but it’s completely upside down to care about animals when human beings could use that help. Yes, I know, in our culture, we value pets more than human beings because it’s so tough to raise a child, so couples replace them with disposable pets. But I think we forget that animals literally eat and kill each other in the wild. It’s just not that big a deal if they die of natural causes.

I know, animal lovers will crucify me for saying the forbidden thing. THAT’S RIGHT I SAID IT!!!
