Allen West explains why he thinks Obama is a Marxist/Socialist

I gotta say I love how articulate Allen West is when he backs up his own words. He was on Hannity last night to explain what he meant when he referred to Obama as a Marxist/Socialist/rigid ideologue on the Mark Levin Show and uses it to also explain why Obama is so arrogant in these fiscal cliff negotiations.

He also explains what he meant when he told Levin that his opponent had to cheat to beat him in the Congressional race, something that caused lefties a bit of outrage yesterday.

        Excellent interview. Excellent book.

We often talk about getting all the Constitutional Conservatives together and forming a movement to take back our country. While I like that idea, I’m not yet ready to give up on the Tea Party. They’ve been doing exactly that, for quite some time now.

Also, Glenn Beck has such a huge following and does such great work in educating people. I wish we could just combine all three, and focus all that energy and all those ideas, in one direction.

  • Conniption Fitz

West, Palin, Newt and very few others speak the truth.

    • Larchmonter

Newt is a problem. He loves any publicity and he cavorts with the Media like a street walker looking for his next $20.

He needs to be serving the cause, not his pocketbook.

True, when he is on topic, he is a very bright mind with the right program. Too often, he’s a big ego looking for money.

      • Newt has his issues. But when he’s on his game, he’s really on his game and he can take the liberals apart like few others.

        • white531

I agree. Stop looking for perfection. It doesn’t exist.

      • Conniption Fitz

I’ve known Newt for many years. He’s got faults, but he has repented of the worst – and he is a PATRIOT through and through.

        So are West and Palin.

      • sDee

Everyone needs to make a living. The leftists, democrats, progressives and globalists have nearly unlimited sources of funding including Soros, all major media companies, NGOs, “non-profits”, think tanks, etc. Pundits, advisers, politicians and bureaucrats alike. Most of the money is our tax money launder, funneled and granted.

Someone of Newt, Palin, Bachmann and West’s caliber on the left, would get what ever they asked for. On the right they get marginalized and have to fend for themselves.

I hope DeMint is going to change that – we will see.

        • las1

Everyone needs to make a living

Shhh! Not too loud. Liberals are lurking.

It is always amusing to hear this straw man argument… that someone is “just in it for the money”, or “looking for his next $20”.

Only a culture besotted with the memes of cultural Marxism and class warfare would actually accept the premise upon which these statements are made: namely that money is evil, and anyone wanting to make a living and support themselves are not conforming to the collectivist norms of our collectivist future.

          • Love the new Avi! 🙂

      • proudhispanicconservative

My problem with Newt Gingrich is that in all the talks of this stupid fiscal cliff he has not once criticized the current speaker of the house. I will have more respect for him if he did that. Otherwise I think he is great.

  • Arrrggghhh

Suggestion for Allen West: Spend the next few years articulating how Conservatism is the real answer to our country’s problems. Our economy is going to collapse over that time period and you will have positioned yourself as the logical choice in 2016. I’d also suggest adopting the FairTax cause because it will be a breath of fresh air after the strangulating taxation and regulation that is about to unfold.

    • RighteousCrow_JustCaws

A good plan…and, repeat the marxist/socialist argument constantly. Sometimes people need to hear the same thought a dozen times before it suddenly sinks in. In fact, all our public conservative figures need to do this.

FairTax = national sales tax. The rich pay more, the poor pay less. Just gotta set a fair rate.

      • Arrrggghhh

The FairTax is the only way we will ever be able to get past the class warfare bickering relative to our tax code that currently exists. EVERYONE is treated exactly the same (same prebate, same tax rate) while still protecting the poor. More importantly, it will incentivize people to be more productive and it will supercharge the economy.

  • anneinarkansas

Keep talking Mr. West. You are one of our few bright lights now.

  • Larchmonter

DeMint needs to get Allen West and build a Battalion of warriors for Capitalism and the Constitution.

    • white531

I think Allen West also needs to get in a huddle with Herman Cain.

  • Nukeman60

If the left is outraged at what Col. West has to say, then he must be saying something right. They only get outraged at the truth. Nothing else bothers them, ’cause they create lies all the time. It’s only the truth that irritates and actually scares them.

As to the voting, does anyone else find it curious that all the early voting was massive (standing as much as 8 hours in line to vote) and yet the pundits declared that the final results were caused by a lack of turnout at the voting booth? Hmmm…

    • Dukehoopsfan

Agreed, “if you’re not catching flak you’re not over the target”.

      • I like that expression… I may have to occupy (aka steal) it! 🙂

        • Dukehoopsfan

I borrowed it from another poster. I don’t remember who. That’s why I use quotation marks … would want to be accused of plagiarism like joe biden and al gore. 😉

A man after my own heart. Always give credit when it’s due! 🙂

          • white531

This apparently originated from WWII bomber pilots.
They could tell when they were over the target
when they could see, hear and feel the flak.

            “If you’re not catching flak,*
            you’re not over the target.”

            • Thanks for that! 🙂

    • white531

I was talking to someone yesterday at trade show about the election. Her parents live in England, and her Mother called early in the evening all excited, because the map of the United States was filling up with red states on her screen. She thought Romney was going to win easily. This was early, as I mentioned, and as the evening wore on and the swing states reported, Obama took the Electoral College vote in just a matter of minutes. Her Mother called back and said, “What happened? I don’t understand!”

I think she pretty much espoused how we all felt.

      • Watching the election results unfold on the TV was like watching a parent die for me! I’m still not over it. I still can’t believe the result. It still hurts! It always will! 🙁

  • these comments are why he was crucified by the black community and the democrats and why he did not win reelection, really sad

    • Nukeman60

If anybody says anything against Obama, they are crucified by the black community. That’s a given. That is how false messiahs work. No group votes 95% for one candidate without it being an idol issue.

What’s really sad is that there is no legitimate inquiry into the vote counting when there is a concern (be it from either side). Honest elections should be the goal of all people, no matter who won or lost.

    • sDee

yeah – he should have compromised his principles, lied, deceived the American people, and sold out his country’s sovereignty and freedom like the rest of the republicans.

      • yep, if it works for demons it will work for us as well! Only you take it a step up, during the campaign, act like a liberal (maybe have a D in your title (wolf in sheeps clothing) speak their language and talking points to get them to like you. You win their hearts, and the day on Innaguaration day, the TRUTH SPILLS OUT! “Folks, I am actually a conservative Republican and i will be doing the opposite of everything I just said!” Ooh, will that be just a kick in the pants for the commies 😀

  • detectivedick

When the GOP realizes that the so called “cliff” is just code word for “quick sand”, then maybe just maybe the GOP will understand UNCERTAINTY. The USA people want certainty, and with Obama, the next 4 years are filled with uncertainty. Believe me, I am not a 2% er but I do see the Progressives coming after the “loopholes”, a Carbon Tax, a VAT and entire menu of redistribution of your money after the GOP caves at the “cliff” and jumps into the quick sand.
Merry Christmas to the GOP, I have coal for your stocking and a solar panel for Obama’s.

  • Oh lord, I hate that picture (above) still from the video. I know it’s not Scoops fault. But a viewer warning might be in order! 😉

Col West is fantastic! When he speaks, he gets my respect and my attention. I know he will tell me the unvarnished truth, and not some bull byproduct. This man has a great future ahead of him! Now, if he were to run for President in 2016… Ah.. A man can dream, can’t he?

    • badbadlibs

If he would run for POTUS, I will work my fingers to a bone to help that man.

      • And The libtards will still call us “racists” – “they’re only helping/supporting him because he’s black” I know… BS, but that’s how they roll.

        • RighteousCrow_JustCaws

Who cares about the left…ever? We must adopt their game plan and just march forward neither looking right nor left, always forward.

    • white531

You can order Allen West bumper stickers from Cafe Press.

I think we should start his campaign now.

      Vote West!

      • Very cool! Thank you white531 for that! 🙂 I just got informed from the site that I don’t have to pay sales tax for living in MA either! 🙂 I’ll pass this onto friends! 🙂

        • badbadlibs

My state got some more out of me…now, they’re talking about taxing the miles a person drives!
We are run by blood sucking leeches in this neck of the woods.

      • badbadlibs

Thanks. I ordered a Allen West for president bumper sticker, the one with him saluting and the pledge of allegiance. And could not resist this one:

“Give me a job where I can perform worse than the last guy, BLAME HIM and NOT get fired” (hehehe)

If I didn’t live in a liberal cesspool state, I would have also ordered:

“If it wasn’t for double standards, liberals wouldn’t have any”!

  • Kelly60

This is why establishment GOP were so scared of Reagan…

  • mikeinidaho

Thank you Col. West! Many of us have been calling Obama a communist since we first started studying him and his pals back in 2007. Apparantly the GOP just can’t bring itself to grow a pair and have its candidates call him a communist during campaigns. I wonder why!

  • denbren52

My suggestion to all conservatives, especially someone as articulate as Allen West: Educate Americans on the differences between Socialism and Capitalism without naming names. A majority of voters today could not tell you that we, as a country, fought against Communism from the 50s through the 80s until the USSR collapsed and the Iron Curtain came down. They don’t understand that the President we have today is no less dangerous to our freedom today than Stalin was to Russia in his time.

Today, Russian children study the Bible in government run schools and we ban any mention of the word Christmas in our schools. We are becoming what we fought against for decades. How did we get there?

    • sDee

That is what Reagan did. He pointed to socialism and communism, what it is, what it does and how our free enterprise and our Constitutional Republic is superior in all ways.

He left the listener to connect the dots to Carter.

The Republicans today are willing to either recognize or to tell the truth about socialism, fascism, and collectivism, or our mortal decline into it.

    • white531

      I agree. True words.

  • sDee

West studies his enemy, draws their fire, then calls in their coordinates.

That is a most excellent description of what Allen West is doing – and what the others in the GOP are not doing!

      • I agree… GOP? More like DOA. White flag is now their flag! It’s not MY flag!

        • colliemum

Yeah, I would never think a white flag woud be your flag, Wolfie – not when I see you av!

          • Hahaha! Thanks mom! 🙂

    • AMEN!!!

    • PicklePlants

    • white531

Amen, for sure! The scary part is that there are not more like him in our government.
Think for just a moment, and try to come up with a list of all the true Constitutional Conservatives in our government. Not a long list, is it?

Next, make a list of RINOS, and let me know when you run out of paper. 🙂

  • Glen4001

I think Allen West is great, but with all due respect, Obama’s publicly stated policies (at least so far) have not been actual socialism. Marxism/socialism involves government OWNERSHIP of the means of production, etc. However, Obama’s policies have been to keep ownership of industries such as health care, finance, manufacturing, etc. in the private sector, although with very tight government regulation and direction of most aspects of running their businesses. That my friends is the economics definition of fascism. This article has been linked before, but see if it doesn’t better describe the present situation:

Another article appeared just today on the historical links between radical Islam and fascism:

    • It’s a quibble that no one cares about. We have creeping socialism because the Government is taking control of the means of production. See Motors, General.

Not only that, but when you force businesses to sell certain things, and consumers to buy them, then you have taken over the business in all but name.

Socialism, Fascism, Statism, Totalitarianism are all similarly anti-Capitalist, and anti-Liberty.

      • white531

K-Bob, the reason Glenn made the distinction between socialism and fascism, is because fascism, unlike socialism, allows Obama a way to escape blame for things that don’t work. Thomas Sowell explains it here:

“It bothers me a little when conservatives call Barack Obama a “socialist.” He certainly is an enemy of the free market, and wants politicians and bureaucrats to make the fundamental decisions about the economy. But that does not mean that he wants government ownership of the means of production, which has long been a standard definition of socialism.

What President Obama has been pushing for, and moving toward, is more insidious: government control of the economy, while leaving ownership in private hands. That way, politicians get to call the shots but, when their bright ideas lead to disaster, they can always blame those who own businesses in the private sector.

Politically, it is heads-I-win when things go right, and tails-you-lose when things go wrong. This is far preferable, from Obama’s point of view, since it gives him a variety of scapegoats for all his failed policies, without having to use President Bush as a scapegoat all the time.

Government ownership of the means of production means that politicians also own the consequences of their policies, and have to face responsibility when those consequences are disastrous – something that Barack Obama avoids like the plague.” -Thomas Sowell

        • white531

Best in-depth discussion of the true definition of fascism can be found here:

          Its really a good read.

          • Glen4001

Another good article on the origins of fascism as an economic philosophy is this essay by Steve McCann:

            Some excerpts:

“Barack Obama and his minions in the administration as well as many Democrats in the Congress are often described as Socialists, or in the extreme as Marxists. However, their actions and strategy are straight out of the fascist economic playbook. They have become the modern reincarnation of the fascist mindset, without the militarism of Italy and Germany, that dominated Europe in the 1920s and ’30s…..Fascism is most often identified with Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler, who not only took it to an extreme but used the basic tenets of this economic philosophy to finance huge armies and arms production in order to satisfy their militaristic and megalomaniacal ambitions. But the concept of a corporate state has been a staple of the American left since Franklin Roosevelt…..Mussolini heaped praise upon FDR’s New Deal as “boldly…interventionist in the field of economics.””

I would agree that the average citizen doesn’t care about the differences between socialism, marxism, fascism etc. However, when in a debate with someone at least somewhat informed, if one incorrectly labels Obama’s policies as Marxism, it undercuts the credibility of the rest of one’s arguement. Fascism is the more accurate term, yet the word is so widely despised (and misunderstood) on both the left and the right, that in some circles it’s almost not even polite to say it. But recognizing the true nature of a problem is a necessary step in fixing it.

very good now if we the right could somehow get through to the blind mislead brainwashed left then we might stand a change at saving the greatest leading country ever to be. Unless we get rid of obama sooner rather then 2016 we are all doomed.

        • Yeah, I guess.

But as long as Republicans have spines that make earthworms seem sturdy, we aren’t about to make Obama own the consequences of anything.

Right now Obama could be caught on film selling GM to China for chump change, and setting fire to the rigs operating the Bakken oilfields, and the lefties would suck down the spin that he did it all for the good of the country.

And they would do it with tears of joy in their eyes.

          • white531

“But as long as Republicans have spines that make earthworms seem sturdy, we aren’t about to make Obama own the consequences of anything.”

Yep, that pretty much states the problem.

  • MiketheMarine

Folks, we are about to get a three year display of what Maobama meant when he said he would redistribute our wealth. He didn’t mean to our ghetto rats, he meant to the islamic brotherhood and as many communist countries as can reach. Can you say China?

  • badbadlibs

Head of Obama’s Jobs Council: ‘State-Run Communism’ Actually ‘Works’

  • Sober_Thinking

Obama has no intention of helping America. All the lemmings need to understand just how tragic this dictator-wannabe is and what his true agenda really is. Obama is anti-American.

Allen West is spot on. I can’t wait for him to run for the Presidency… though he should have done it and won it this time around.

And the damn media is complicit. They are domestic terrorists pure and simple.

  • I’m glad I don’t have to think about who to support for 2016.

Never mind what the Republicans do: Vote West.

  • Conservator1

Allen West is an American hero who will return to politics for the good of the nation.

After another 1 and a half years of Obama, I’m certain if West runs again for the same seat he lost to Patrick Murphy, he will defeat him handily.

  • Obama , a Marxist ideologue , Who has designs of bringing the U.S. to its knees..The use of Alinsky tactics goes on and on and on in the world of community organizer Obama, all intended to sway the electorate deceptively and inordinately to support the Dictator & Thief.

  • proudhispanicconservative

It is no secret that I love this man, Heck I even moved from my district so I can vote for him. If only the Republicans in the leadership positions would speak like this warrior that is not afraid to call it as it is this would be an overwhelmingly big win for the Republicans, I think he is wrong when he says that they’re not going to cave in, I believe they will and with that they’re going to become the minority party. I think that he would be great in radio, or any other endeavor he pursues.

  • I would vote for Allen West for ANYTHING! We need so many more conservatives like West, especially for the 2014 elections that could bring all of Congress back to the Republicans. It will be a long, hard, slog, but with people like Allen West and Mia Love out there, we will win. Count on it.

  • We need an army of Allen West’s.

  • graywolf4life

Here’s hoping he runs for president in 2016!

While I do believe hard work and perseverance is eventually rewarded on some level, I must confess I also believe in man’s destiny. While we all do contribute, according to each of our abilities, not all of us are destined to serve. That honor, or duty as some would call it, is only reserved for a very few. The most recent recipient of that badge of courage, is Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas D. Checque, the Navy Seal from Seal Team Six, who gave his life three nights ago, in an operation to rescue a kidnapped American Doctor, in Afghanistan. I grieve with his family. He was 28 years old, and like all Navy Seals, he represented the best this nation can produce. His loss to us, is not just a loss to his family. His loss, is a loss to this nation. I am here to tell you, we can’t keep doing this.

How many more times can these young men keep doing what only they can do, while we have a Muslim for a President, whose only goal is to destroy this nation? It makes me sick. Not sick in my gut, although there is that. No, sick in my beliefs, more than anything.

Four Years! Four years since this madman unleashed a war upon America, and what have we done to counter it? NOT A DAMNED THING! Boehner makes me puke! We have the government on one side, doing whatever the hell they please, and on the other side, all we have is talk radio and sites like The Right Scoop and Breitbart. The Republican Party is nothing more than a joke at this point. It is the right wing of the Democratic Party. Used only for promotional purposes.

  • white531

Speaking further about Destiny, History is full of people who just happened to show up, just when they were needed. Sir Winston Churchill, was one of them. Sir Winston was born into a privileged class. Attended the best schools. Began life as a Conservative, only to switch later, to Liberal. Actually, Maverick would more describe his political career.

Regardless, he showed up at just the right time, when he was needed. Destiny seems to work like that. Winston Churchill, as it turned out, was just what we needed. It was his Destiny.

  • 12grace

I love Allen West! He is so right on!

  • Red Squid

Oh, my ! extending early voting so all those people standing in line could vote! It would help his argument if it was something other than losing because people could vote… particularly when the reason people vote early is because they are workin’ people, who might not be able to get off work on a tuesday.
Not people who are takers. Not lazy, unemployed folks who could spend all day to vote.
    Working people.
