Amanda Carpenter was on CNN last night explaining that Ted Cruz must change his tactics if he wants to beat Donald Trump because the current plan isn’t working:
Here’s more from her this morning:
Ted Cruz must "adapt or die." I had a column in my head with this very title that Leon Wolf picked up on https://t.co/J404voCTwf

GOP voters do not care about the labels like "conservative" anymore. They want straight, clear, authentic, unscripted talk on the issues.

I understand the hard play on "conservative" and "evangelical" for SC. But it didn't win. Blow up the plan and go bigger,

Ted Cruz's conservative philosophy naturally shines thru. It doesn't need to be proven at every turn.

Cruz has worked hard to stay on message and I think that’s gotten in his way from time to time in this race. Early on he sounded way too polished but he seemed to fix some of that. But even now I hear murmurs from people that Cruz still needs to work on softening his personality so that he seems less politician-y and more natural.
One of Trump’s big appeals is that he sounds unscripted and natural and he conveys strength that way. Rubio also does this pretty well.
It’s time for Cruz to do the same, now or never.
It’s certainly not over as many suggest who would like to see Cruz jump out of the race. Carpenter believes anything can still happen:
YES! It's a three man race where ANYTHING can happen. Debates can change outcomes. It's harder, but possible. https://t.co/cftMXm1jQY
