Ann Coulter to Sarah Palin: Fish or cut bait

Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter took this segment to basically dismiss Sarah Palin as a serious potential candidate, suggesting that she really hasn’t dug deep into policy because she really isn’t that interested in it. They are both tired of the ongoing ‘tease’ and compared her to Newt Gingrich, who teased for 15 years just to have lackluster support when he actually ran. Coulter adds that Palin, with the poll numbers where they are, probably shouldn’t run because she just won’t have the voter base she’d need to be a serious candidate. Plus she’s ginning up all these people for her when they should be focusing on other candidates if she isn’t going to run:

Here’s the bottom line on where I stand. I can’t predict the future and I’ve not been in politics all that long like Coulter and Ingraham. But I just believe it’s foolish to dismiss Sarah Palin out of hand as these two did. I strongly believe she will be a force to be reckoned with when she jumps on the campaign trail. And from what I understand, she loves to be the underdog.

Also, let me quote Dan Cleary from the last Karl Rove Post: “Bill Clinton didn’t announce his candidacy until October 3, 1991. Reagan waited until November 11, 1979. We know how those two campaigns worked out. Just a little historical perspective to keep in mind.”

UPDATE: One more thing. As Ash Tillotson points out on Twitter, how does Coulter justify waiting on Christie but wants Palin to stop teasing? Sounds like she believes one candidate is worth waiting on…and one is not.
