AP reporter Matt Lee grilled the State Department today on whether or not Iran has come clean on their past nuclear program. The State Department spokesman John Kirby refuses to answer the question directly, only to say that the Obama administration didn’t need Iran to ‘come clean’ for them to strike a deal:

Kirby says that they had already made their judgement and thus didn’t need for Iran to come clean, meaning they wanted a deal so bad they let Iran off the hook on admitting their past nuclear ambitions. Also it better fit the narrative that Iran won’t get a nuclear bomb, which Obama said over and over and over.
