Arpaio: If DOJ wants to take me to court, fine, I’ll meet them in court

Arpaio has more backbone than anyone I’ve ever seen – this simply isn’t common among elected officials. But there’s no way he’s gonna let Obama’s DOJ bully him around, especially when it is only about politics. He says if they want to take him to court, he’s more than willing to call their bluff and make them substantiate their allegations, something he says they’ve refused to do thus far and something he doesn’t think they want to do in court.

I seriously love this man:

We must all support Sheriff Arpaio, he is a man of great courage and integrity.

    • We just gave more money to support Scott Walker in that stupid recall crybaby crap. Scott’s office sent a letter and we responded. Sheriff Arpaio, you need help with your defense? Just let us know on Scoop and we’ll write you a check. You are a great example for our children and for all Americans.

  • DebbyX

Ya’ gotta love Sheriff Joe! And also his choice of colors 😉

    • 3seven77

      There’s nothing wrong with pink.

“The color pink represents compassion, nurturing and love. It relates to unconditional love and understanding, and the giving and receiving of nurturing. … In color psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It is a positive color inspiring warm and comforting feelings, a sense that everything will be okay.

Pink calms and reassures our emotional energies, alleviating feelings of anger, aggression, resentment, abandonment and neglect. Studies have confirmed that exposure to large amounts of pink can have a calming effect on the nerves and create physical weakness in people. Violent and aggressive prisoners have been successfully calmed by placing them in a pink room for a specified amount of time. Exposure for too long can have the opposite effect.”

The Sheriff is not trying to “humiliate” anyone, he’s trying to keep things peaceful. 🙂

The Sheriff has a spine of Steel which is a welcomed change for going against adminstration.

    • unclesamnephew

seems to be a pattern in Az. Gov Brewer has spine too!

  • Sheriff Joe for President! The man with no fear.

  • justrighton

This is the kind of American that made this country great. At some point we have forgotten who we are and what we stand for.

  • poljunkie

Sheriff Arpaio is *almost* the Jack Bauer of law enforcement.

    • FreeManWalking

Wouldn’t you just love to see a video of Joe “sweatn” Holder on Fast and Furious”.

Pop a knee cap or just stick a seal’s blade in and give it a twist, Oh No wait, get the drill Joe get the Drill that sends shivers up my spine, worse than climbing a skyscraper.

      • unclesamnephew

i would love to see the entire miss-adminstration wearing pink and sitting in one of Joe’s tents. i would sentences them 25 to live for each violation of our Constitution

  • aPLWBinAK

The man has credibility with many of us, because among other reasons he’s 79 years old, we know he has nothing left to prove….he’s quietly done his duty for the last 50 years.

  • Sober_Thinking

Lol… his hatred for maobama and his ilk is barely concealed. I thank God for tough men like this… he’s doing a nasty job and maobama and Holder are doing all they can to kick him down – and he’s having none of it. This man is one of the most respected (and probably hated) men in this country. God bless you Sheriff for sticking to the law and not letting those posers push you around.

  • Is_Sense_Common

Has there ever been an administration that sued its own states and persons as much as our current dictator? I mean seriously – this Fed Gov’t sues its states and holds its states in contempt much more severely than anyone in AlQueda or Hezbollah or any other legitimate threat to our country.

It’s truly just unbelievable that this man has even the remotest chance of being re-elected.

    • Conservative_Hippie

      Well said!

    • Watchman74

Not to mention an administration that marginalizes Congress, attacks the Supreme court, and declares war on its own citizens ie Koch Brothers.

    • SpikeT

I like your common sense. Woudn’t Obama make a great slip-and-fall/tort lawyer?

      • p m

I tend to see him more as defendant than prosecutor – OK, only in my dreams so far, but a girl can dream eh? 🙂

    • 1vote

This president has declared war on our beloved country.
Maobama is at war with states, judges, energy companies, financial companies, mom and pop companies, our soldiers, our sheriffs, churches, border guards, the dollar, you name it. It saddens me to think that re-election is even a possibility for this clown.
He is for redistribution pure and simple.
Joe Arpaio is a true patriot, as apposed to our POS-POTUS!

Now, before it is too late, we need to rage against the dying of the light. It is good to see Sheriff Joe and others taking the lead. Hopefully all dedicated conservatives will join in.

    • MaxineCA
    • Or to his campaign: said Soros-funded groups will spend $10 million this year to defeat Arpaio (he is up in November and it will be a close race).

      • NJK

Soros should be in prison. He can’t even enter Thailand, because they call him an economic war criminal. But here he is, destroying America with Obama, and everyone just looks away.

  • MaxineCA

I saw an interesting interview with Sheriff Joe a couple of years ago when this started. He gave a tour of his tent city and talked about the innovative things he has implemented.

He took dogs from the county pound (that many probably would have been euthanized) and set up a program for the inmates to care for and train them, so they could be adopted. It saved the county a ton of money and allowed animal control to focus on animal control. They use the adoption fees to pay for the dog food, etc.

He set up a large vegetable garden that the inmates maintain. The vegetables they grow go to the kitchen at tent city and I think they sell the rest to support the program.

When asked about the pink underwear – he said he got tired of them stealing underwear when they’re released.

When asked about the living conditions living in tents in the summer – he said if they don’t like the conditions, don’t break the law.

When he wanted to increase his patrol, rather than depending on the county for more tax payer dollars, he set up a volunteer posse program. All volunteers went through a month of training. Most were either ex-military or law enforcement that gladly signed up. The DOJ “had a fit”. Sheriff Joe stood his ground and said it was within his rights as sheriff, and pretty much told them to buzz off.

Newsflash for Bamster & Holder – You know the saying “Don’t Mess with Texas” add Maricopa County, AZ to that. They won’t fold to Chicago thuggery. You’re not messing with a wussified politician and he won’t be bullied.

    You go, Sheriff Joe!

    • Is_Sense_Common

I saw that same thing! That’s when the love affair began… (ha)

    • FreeManWalking

I wish we had a Sheriff Joe and Tent City instead of a putting criminals in a Rec room, boarding house.

Every state needs to adopt his model.

    • Constance

That animal program he has here is absolutely outstanding. Every day of the week, you can visit one of the county animal shelters and see striped inmates working there, cleaning kennels and caring for the animals. The inmates gain privileges, and the animals and taxpayers gain care for unwanted dogs and cats. The rehabilitation program with the inmates and dogs has had wonderful results – it’s good for the inmates as well, particularly those who aren’t hardened criminals, but just need a kick in the pants to clean up. Dogs that would otherwise be euthanized are given love and care. I can’t speak highly enough of the program.

      • MaxineCA

I’m not up to speed on the program since it’s been a few years since I first saw the report. Interesting that the inmates (based offense & and good behavior) get out for awhile to perform community service. I’m sure it calms their spirits as well. Once the shelter holds lost or abandoned pets for a specified time, do they go to tent city for training rather than being euthanized? When some come in they are NOT adoptable, so I thought they went to tent city for training, but I could be wrong.

Whatever they are doing seems to be a win/win for the inmates as well as the animals.

  • tvlgds

I’ve been a huge fan of Sheriff Joe for years! He takes no crap and doesn’t back down. I also love Sheriff Paul Babeu over in Pinal Co. He’s another one who takes the feds to task. Wish we had some like them in TX!

    • PVG

Wish we had some like them in the wh!

      • tvlgds

        Me too!!

    • MaxineCA

I’m with you on Sheriff Babeu as well. Unfortunately, he decided to run for US Congress. He should have known not to jump into the political arena. I guess he underestimated how vile and nasty politics can be especially in AZ.
What a great patriot he has been serving our country & it citizens. Now the bad news. Although he followed DADT for his entire career, (who knew, who cared if he was gay or straight) the same lefties that support gay rights, etc., are crucifying him in the media. I guess if he had been a democrat it wouldn’t have mattered. I’m so sick of the hypocrisy. It is so sad to take such a patriot who always kept his private life private to have them ruin his reputation.

Here’s how I will remember him.

      • tvlgds

My sister lives in Pinal Co and she told me last year that he was gay–I was surprised, but I didn’t care then and don’t care now. He has no lifestyle based agenda and I admire him as much as I always did. He’s a fine conservative, law abiding patriot! I was furious when that smear campaign started. You’re right that if he was a democrat he’d be revered. I’m also on his mailing list so I get updates all the time. I had hoped to get to meet him when I was out there last Apr. but didn’t get the chance. I told my sister to tell him he has lots of fans in TX. She just loves him. He took over that completely corrupt dept. and threw the bums out! The old sheriff and his cronies were all involved in the criminal activities.

        • MaxineCA

I’m with you & your sis. The smears will not take away his accomplishments nor will they change my opinion of him. He is an honorable man that deserves our respect. I don’t give a rat about his private life that he’s kept private for many years. It certainly doesn’t change his loyal service to this country. Geez, I hate politics!

          • tvlgds

            I hate politics and politicians!

            • NJK

I hate the word politics and politicians. It’s a nice word for crime and criminals. I read a couple of days ago they arrested some men selling weapons to drug cartels? I thought, are you kidding me? This is the same thing Holder and the usurper did, and they’re protecting them? I thought I lived in a country that was above a third world status. I’m now living in one.

              • tvlgds

They do seem to be synonymous these days! We used to live in a country way above 3rd world status–this administration wants us ALL to be 3rd world for the sake of “equality” and we’ve got the corrupt gov’t to go with it. Never, in a million years, did I expect to see my country go this route and it ain’t over yet!

        • NJK

Sheriff Babeau is great. America in its current form doesn’t deserve him or Sheriff Arpaio. I think Benjamin Franklin said, if the people vote in despotism, they deserve it. If the people defend this creep in the White House and his lie about his birthplace, they deserve the damage their children sill suffer from it.

          • tvlgds

The sad thing is WE don’t deserve the despotism other people vote in!

  • MaxineCA

Here you go folks if you want to contribute to his legal defense fund.

  • libertyandtyranny

Go Sheriff Joe! You are an AMerican Hero!!!!!

  • libertyandtyranny

Obama is counting on the illegal vote. That’s why DOJ is going after states trying to enforce the law, and trying ot keep states from passing voter ID laws. Those bastards. Do they really think Americans are that stupid??!!!

  • David Boyes

    Cajones – Arpaio 2, Obama ZERO !!!!!!

  • Alborn

I cannot decide which man has the most courage, Allen West or Sheriff Arpaio. But both are heroes for this country. They stand up and say I stand on the side of Truth so bring all comers and I will stand firm. We Need an Army of these guys speaking up everyday until we get our Constitutional Republic back.

    • NJK

Allen West with all of his war experience and good qualities was contacted even before he took office. He’s just part of the chorus of those singing feigned ignorance. He knows. He was written letters. Everyone felt they were being above the fray when they attacked the “birthers,” or called them “kooks.” They felt it placed them on some pedestal. They should have helped. Maybe all of the damage that’s been done could have been avoided. All for a bum. A former drug user. A foreigner working for Ayers.

  • Sign the Petition to Stand With Sheriff Joe:

    • MaxineCA

Done. But I really hate that they share my name and city. I try to keep my privacy – private. Oh well. Guess it’s worth it to support Sheriff Joe.

    • NJK

I did, and I donate every month to him. It was funny when he said his wife used to start his car for him in the morning, but doesn’t do it anymore. She was in the audience. It’s shameful, that he and his detectives are standing on the battlefield alone. He’s going to be owed many apologies. He will have a wonderful place in the history books. Megyn Kelly won’t be remembered.

  • MortimusMaximus

What other sheriff has inmates asking for autographs

    • M_Minnesota

      Or Read the Bible!!

  • Sheriff Joe Arpaio is 79…

It would have been nice if Megyn had asked the Sheriff about something more important than the Feds monitoring an elected Sheriff.

As Sheriff said Saturday, March 31, 2012, he gets invited on national tv to talk about pink underwear, but not about the “legal insurgency” [my term] being perpetrated by BHObama.

My question is, why do the “thought leaders” on TV – Radio – Print – Online NOT talk about the legal news that Sheriff Arpaio revelaed at his Cold Case Posse news conference on March 1, 2012?

Rush Limbaugh – no comment yet
Mark Levin – no comment yet
Sean Hannity – no comment yet
David Barton – no comment yet
Glenn Beck (on radio the next day – only shallow ridicule) – on GBTV – no comment yet
Sarah Palin – no comment yet

Hey, if our “thought leaders” do not, can not, will not comment, well, THAT definitely COMPELS a comment such as WHY NOT.

    – – – – – – – –

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Press Conference March 31

    At 14min. 55sec. –
“What, have I got the plague, or something?
“I get on national TV with pink underwear.
“I can’t even get on with this … (not clear – audience applause).
    “Never seen anything like it.

“I’m just doing what I took an oath of office to do.
“I know it’s corny to say that, but i firmly believe it … (unclear – audience applause).
    “You need action.
    “You can’t just talk.

“A lot of you people know me.
“They call me the toughest sheriff in America.
    “It’s the world.
“It’s not in America. (audience laughter)

“So, I’m just doing what I took an oath of office to do … .
“Do you think I’d be taking on a President if I was appointed?
    “I’m elected.
“What are they going to do to me?
“And you mention, I report to the people.

“250 people signed a petition … and came and asked me to do something.
“I’m not accusing the President of any crime.
“When I took this on I said to Mike, …

“I got a posse, why not give it to them?
“It doesn’t cost a penny, so, they can’t go after me by saying I’m using taxpayers money.

“I told Mike, Mike, I want to do everything to clear the President of the United States.
“I wanted to do it, really.
    “… I’m a law enforcement guy.
“I wanted to be the guy to get up there, say that birth certificate is legitimate.
    “Leave the President alone.
“But, it didn’t work out that way. (audience laughter)
    “… I don know.
    “Some problems.

“Another thing we came up [with] was the Selective Service form.
“… see, the media won’t print this.
“In all my press releases, I put a nice little p.s., and I said, I have registered 40,000 inmates to sign up for the Selective Service … .
“Then I said, we have 10,000 from another country.
“When I started this, the U.S. Government Selective Service system didn’t even know you have to sign up illegals, aliens.
    “And I did.
    “I got 40,000.
“So, I take this serious, the Selective Service.
“I didn’t know this coming up, the Selective Service problem that we have with the President.
“This came up through our investigation.
    “So, what do you do?
“Throw that in the waste basket?
“We’re not going to throw it in a waste basket.

“And, once again, I’m not accusing the President of any crime, but we do have some probable cause on a couple of documents, government documents, and the last I heard, if you forge documents, I think that’s a violation of law, somewhere.

“If you did it, you’d be in trouble, big time.
“I don’t care who you are, […with humor…] unless you’re the President. [audience laughter]
“I don’t care who you are.

“The President mentioned me 3 months ago at the White House.
    “What an honor. [audience laughter]

“So, we’re going to continue our job.

    “Where is everybody?
“How come nobody’s saying something about me?
“Not that I need the politicians to do so.
“But, they could at least you’ve got a nice shirt.
“Or, they could at least say, I don’t know nothing about that, but, let’s see what the Sheriff comes up with.

“All I hear is that he’s here legitimately, that the birth certificate is ok, everything is ok.
    “What is this?
“A ten year old can look at that birth certificate and know it’s not real.

“So, I don know what’s going on in this country.

“… when I’m in Sun City, I always give my age.
“When I’m in Scottsdale, I’m 39. [audience laughter]
“When I’m in Sun City, Sun City West, I’m 79, going on 80.
    “I’ll be 80 June 14, Flag Day.

“Do you know what I’m going to do? …
“I’m going to that that 80, that phony 80 that was upside down on that Selective [Service], I’m going to flip it and that’s going to be my birth day. … .
“I want every birthday card, a copy of that Selective Service form.

    “Thank you … .

    – – – – – – – – – –

    As Sheriff Arpaio asked –

    Where is everybody?
    What is this?
What’s going on in this country?

    Just askin’.
    ‘Cause it’s important.

Did somebody say “I don’t know” … even with all the legal evidence?

  • He should have told Megyn Kelly, “They are going after me….and you know why. But unfortunately that subject is not allowed to be discussed on your network”.

We all know the subject, RIGHT ?????

    • NJK

We all know, and we all know Obama’s not a legal president. I won’t even listen to people who refer to him as President. I’m not stupid. They think they’re being noble to refer to him as president. When it can no longer be hidden, I can’t wait to hear the excuses. “Well I really thought he was born here,” or, “I thought the birth announcements in the paper explained all of that,” or, it was his fault, or the other guys fault, or whatever.

They won’t want to be ridiculed like they did to everyone else. They won’t want everyone to think that they aren’t as smart as they want everyone to believe they are. Or that they were just human, and are capable of being conned. Or, they are indirectly responsible for the damage that’s been caused in the country, all for someone’s half black face. And what an ugly black face it is.

  • Constance

Being an Arizona resident, I must concur that Arpaio is hell on wheels. In this state, people either love him or absolutely hate him. There isn’t much of a middle ground. In his jails, prisoners don’t get sugar or coffee. They get food that is edible, but just barely. Chain gangs, one item at a time to read only (monitored for content), regular shakedowns and searches, and tent city where in the summer, the temp reaches 120 easily. Arpaio’s jails are hell. They are meant to be. Nobody wants to get arrested and serve jail time in Maricopa County, AZ. That suits me just fine.

    • tvlgds

Me too. Prisons are not supposed to be country clubs!

    • MaxineCA

I grew up in AZ, and yes it’s get’s very hot in the summertime. I remember seeing an interview with Sheriff Joe (from some bleeding heart liberal) that asked if it wasn’t cruel to keep inmates in tent cities in the summer heat. Sheriff Joe didn’t even pause and replied (paraphrasing) “What the heck do you think our military who serve in Afghanistan & Iraq have to deal with in full gear? No, these inmates have it easy compared to what our military personnel have to endure”. It was a priceless and typical Sheriff Joe honest response.

      • cathmom

  • NJK

He’s a modern day George Washington. This isn’t about civil rights, it’s about Obama’s lie about his birthplace. Sheriff Arpaio has a very interesting background. Why is he the only one on the battlefield. Why isn’t anyone helping him? They’re still playing ignorant.

“He began his career as a federal narcotics agent, establishing a stellar record in infiltrating drug organizations from Turkey to the Middle East to Mexico, Central, and South America to cities around the U.S. His expertise and success led him to top management positions around the world with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). He concluded his remarkable federal career as head of the DEA for Arizona.
In 1992, Arpaio successfully campaigned to become the Sheriff of Maricopa County. Since then he has been reelected to an unprecedented five 4-year terms. During his tenure as Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arpaio has consistently earned high public approval ratings.”

  • tvlgds

Got an email from Sheriff Paul today with a preview of his new ad.

  • Love this man and his courage. Thank God there are men like him and women who will fight for justice!

  • BRING IT ON!!! Sheriff Joe is NOT afraid…..the Feds will back down…you watch

  • NJK

Political motivation because we’re in an election year? Come on Megyn, tell the truth for once about where this African impostor was born. Just pretend he’s white, you can do it. Come on, it’s not that hard, just pretend his white half is lying. You’re not noble, Megyn. I hope FOX is destroyed with the rest after this African impostor is brought down.

  • Just love this guy. It’s great to see more and more Americans standing up to this DOJ…not to mention the Administration.

  • You go Sheriff Joe…for those of you wanting to contribute to any legal defense fund…be especially careful of how you send your money…there are going to be a bunch of scam artists online just looking for easy money…
