Soledad O’Brien had Sheriff Arpaio on this morning to talk about the conflict between the executive order by Arizona Gov. and the new federal regulations as it relates to illegals getting drivers licenses. When she asks which law he’s going to follow, he mentions how the feds are suing him which made me laugh. But in reality, he says he swore an oath to uphold the laws of the state of AZ.

When asked how this is going to affect the GOP as it relates to politics, Arpaio said that whats more important is doing what is right and even said that he is a good example of someone who doesn’t do things based on politics. Awesome! I love the confidence.

He never ventured into politics which isn’t that rare in law enforcement as he only concentrated on what he knew best enforcement. Had he been a sniveling snake in the grass lawyer, well, it might have been different. We know there can never be enough laws on the books or constituencies to pander to in order to fleece the public.

No questions by Ms O’Brien about Obama’s forged birth certificate? Didn’t think so.

Soledad O’Brien is really a sad excuse for a so-called journalist. She gets talking points from leftist Websites and blogs ( see http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2012/08/13/soledad-obrien-caught-reading-liberal-blog-during-heated-debate-romne )and uses them to try to entrap and discredit her opponents (yes, I used opponents and not interviewees). She cannot think for herself and do the serious research required of a journalist before her interro…uh, interviews begin. Once upon a time I’m sure that Ms. O’Brien did practice responsible journalism. Now, she merely appears to be just another apparatchik of the DNC and the Obama WH. Quite pathetic.

        • http://www.facebook.com/courtneytlhaynes Courtney T L Haynes

Chris, “interviews” should be more like interrogations if you ask me. And where she gets her talking points is irrelevant. The question — AND THE ONLY QUESTION — should be are her facts correct. And I realize with both sides lots of times those facts are not correct, but just because she asks a Republican tough questions doesn’t mean she’s not practicing responsible journalism. It means the exact OPPOSITE. Asking tough question is what a journalist is SUPPOSED to do and if her guests are too ill-prepared to answer her questions then that is THEIR FAULT.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Then why go to journalism school and learn how to actually do research the herself, instead of getting her talking points from a blog (which can easily be Googled by anybody)? At least she could have been more discreet about where she was getting her “tough” questions from. The people who answered her questions, especially Sununu, seemed to know where she was getting her ideas from.

      • warpmine

They are in fact extinct and have been for 8 decades as Walter Duranty saw to that. What we’ve had is a something out of Star Trek, a coelecent being that mimics the host while it consumes it. Outwardly having the same emotions and knowledge of the host. And we thought S-T was fantasy.

      • http://www.facebook.com/courtneytlhaynes Courtney T L Haynes

Biased questions? You mean like questions that actually put Republicans on the spot. Now, I know you guys are tired of her making you look stupid on tv but there’s no need to exaggerate.

        • toongoon

I mean that she should be seeking the truth. She didn’t listen to Arpaio’s answers, she only reads the talking points of the obama campaign and far left web sites. She also doesn’t ask probing questions of the left and obama in similar fashion.
That’s called bias, look it up.

The difference between you and me is that I balance my opinion on what the facts are, while you are satisfied with the media only attacking Republicans.

When everything is said and done I kinda hope you will learn that men who are raised to deity status through lies and false narratives are not good leaders but become dictators. It doesn’t take two minutes of free thinking to realize that but free thinking is not something the left aspires to, so it is my goal that you never have to find out what obama is like once he has no opposition.

    • http://profiles.google.com/ajtelles Art Telles

      Imagine that…

      Excellent point, Freempg.

However, it’s not really necessary to imagine no questions by Soledad O’brien about Obama’s birth certificate on ANY msm program.

      Why?

For the same reason that the ORIGINAL intent of the ORIGINAL words of the ORIGINAL ‘Birther’ document of our Republic, the U.S. Constitution, specifically Article 2 Section Clause 5 is not addressed by the BIG Talkers on radio and BIG Bloggers on the web.

What is Article 2 Section 1 Clause 5?

The ONLY place in the founding documents,

      – Declaration of Independence
      – Articles of Confederation
      – U.S. Constitution

where ‘natural born Citizen’ and ‘Citizen’ are contrasted in the SAME Clause 5, in the SAME sentence, separated by a comma and the word ‘or’ that is put there by the Founders with original intent.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse investigation into BHObama’s fraudulent birth certificate, fraudulent SS # and fraudulent Selective Service is NOT addressed on Democrat OR Republican BIG Talker radio programs or BIG Blogger web site… or forums.

      Why?

      Who knows.

They don’t talk about Article 2 Section 1 Clause 5, right?

That is for them to articulate.

      WHY?

‘Cause it could happen again with another OCCUPIER-in-Chief in the future

Maybe they, BIG Talkers on radio and tv and BIG Bloggers on the web will explain to ‘we the people’ why the eligibility of BHObama is a ‘no-go-zone’ for thoughtful discussion as is evident in this short comment.

Your thoughtful and pertinent question, Freempg, deserves an answer from the BIG Talker and BIG Blogger perpetrators of silence.

      • sjmom

Can you tell me what would happen if it was proven Obama is not a natural born citizen? I’ve tried to find this out but to no avail and would like to know.

        • Freempg

mom, we would be in no-man’s land. Our Supreme Court justices, with their life-long tenure and cozy (we really like each other incestousness) are too debauched and lazy to think about it. The “Roberts Court” is a disgrace, and will live in infamy for its decision on Obamacare but mostly for its “avoiding” the pentultimate constitutional threat of our time (or any other time):

          • sjmom

Here’s my question; I’ve heard we’d be in a constitutional crisis, but what exactly does it mean? If any president was ineligible and yet had served in office would that null and void every law they signed, such as Obamacare?

            • Freempg

Yes. Many questions would arise, like who would succeed the President, the VP or the Speaker of the House, how would the President be removed if we was ruled by the Supreme Court to be ineligible and the Congress refused to impeach? Would his appointees have to recuse themselves and all their unrelated decisions be vacated? On and on and on. But that’s no excuse that we do nothing.

              • George Payne

He is not eligible to hold the office and doesn’t need to be impeached just removed and tried for treason.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

There would be a national furor. Our Constitution would be seriously undermined. An unconstitutional act would have been committed and Congress would have no choice but to move forward with impeachment proceedings. Hardcore Obamatons would go into collective fecal apoplexy and clamor for Prez O to remain in office. I could only assume that there may be civil unrest, but who’s to say what would really happen?

        • http://profiles.google.com/ajtelles Art Telles

          If…

          What would happen if…?

          That’s a good question sjmom.

          Absolutely nothin’.

          2 Possible imprachment scenarios.

          1 –
Impeachment by the House of Representatives?

          – Not necessary.
Impeachment is only necessary against a legal office holder.

          – Won’t happen.
With a weak-willed House of Representatives, controlled by weak-willed Republicans, and a strong willed in-your-face Democrat controlled Senate, impeachment proceedings agains a Democrat Usurper-in-Chief, the titular head of the ‘occupy’ movement, aka the OCCUPIER-in-Chief, is a no-go from the get-go.

          2 –
Impeachment confirmation and conviction by Senate / Supreme Court Chief Justice?

          – Won’t happen.

As U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas told a House subcommittee,

          >> “We are evading that one [the eligibility issue].”

          1min. 16sec. –
          >> http://youtu.be/O7qEH-tKoXA

          Thomas –

“And you don’t have to be born in the United States.”

A reference to the Constitution, which requires the President to be a ‘natural-born Citizen,’ not simply a ‘Citizen,’ but has no such clause for a Supreme Court justice, a state Governor or a state or federal Senator or a state or federal Representative or a Mayor.

          Serrano –

          “Oh really?

“So you haven’t answered the one about whether I can serve as president, but you answer this one? [about Serrano being a Supreme Court Justice]”

          Thomas –

          “We’re evading that one.”

Followed by laughter in the chamber.

Of course, there are legal nuances relative to laws passed and Executive Orders, but, we’re seeing illegal conduct by the highest office holder in America being minimized and laughed at by elected and appointed officals.

          So, sjmom, that’s America today.

          Art

        • Richard Laycock

When the issue first came up Hugh Hewitt, a constitutional law attorney, pointed out that the founders did not proscribe in law any remedy for an elected President who does not meet the constitutional requirements. That means the only legal means to get the bum out is by impeachment. The odds of the GOP leading that charge? Absolutely ZERO!

        • George Payne

He would be removed from office and all documents he signed would be null and void. That is one reason that R’s and D’s will not admit that he is not an NBC.

          • sjmom

That’s what I thought too. It’s a national disgrace when politicians put themselves before the Constitution. The Founders are rolling over in their graves. It’s time for a huge, huge change! God help us is my prayer.

Art, we are living an episode of the Twilight Zone. I need only add one item to your excellent post:

The scrubbing of Justia with regards to Minor v. Happersett, an 1874 decision which “contains language that appears to disqualify anyone from presidential eligibility who wasn’t born in the country to parents who were citizens.”

Thanks for the excellent American Thinker article url Freempg. I had not read it yet.

          “Public Resource Org

“It turns out that Justia received additional help from their close counterpart in the open government information movement, Public Resource Org (PRO), founded and run by Carl Malamud.

“Malamud was also the chief technology officer for The Center for American Progress, a progressive think-tank funded in part by none other than George Soros.”

So, now we know that Soros is the Justia puppet master.

Again, asking El Presidente, Harry the Horrible, Nincompoop Nancy, et al relevant, hard-hitting questions would require Ms. O’Brien to be a responsible, objective journalist. When she interrog…oops…interviews her ideological opposites, she makes her condescension and bias evident.

      • http://www.facebook.com/courtneytlhaynes Courtney T L Haynes

No one addresses the birth certificate matter because THEY CONSIDER THE MATTER CLOSED. Even REPUBLICANS have said this. Obama released his SHORT and LONG form birth certificates. There is an announcement in a HAWAIIAN newspaper telling of his birth.

Now, is it possible that this is some big conspiracy by the Obama camp to hide the fact that his not a native-born citizen. Certainly, anything’s possible. But certainly, you can see how a reasonable person would surmise that he is in fact born here in the United States given these facts.

  • 911Infidel

Illegal aliens deserve nothing. If your so worried about their kids, the kids can go back to their home countries with their parents. Come through the legal system through the front door…otherwise, you are an illegal and should be deported. God Bless Sheriff Joe. Were it that we had someone like him sitting in the AG’s chair right now.

    • p m

Very true – they make them out to be ‘victims’, for God’s sake.

    • librtifirst

      “Illegal aliens deserve nothing”

Nobody does who didn’t earn it. Taking from us to give to anyone is a crime. Joe has a simple way about him, doesn’t he? “If they are here illegally, then we can solve the problem if they get legal before coming here”. (beautiful)

    • MLCBLOG

That’s what he said, if they get legal that would solve it.

Falls on deaf ears though. They want amnesty for all, disregard of our laws, more votes for O and the Dems, and general up yours!!

  • p m

She questioned his integrity when he wouldn’t bite on her ridiculous GOP baiting!! What a tool. So the GOP might be hurt because the demographics in Arizona are trending more Latino? Duh – that may be so if she’s including all the illegal aliens. And why pre-suppose that it’s the GOP who would be hurt by that? Gee, talk about racist. Seems the dems want to keep the Latinos on the plantation same as the blacks.

The people of Arizona – legal residents, not those who live there illegally – have already spoken and it’s to be hoped that in 2013 THEIR wishes will be heeded. Not before time.

    • WordsFailMe

You know, nobody ever talks about the slavery that was the norm in Mexico and Central and South America. There were literally more black slaves wearing Latino iron chains than there were living in the US. When the economies collapsed as the Europeans were driven out, democracy ensued–Latin Democracy: Make every man was as dirt poor as the next. Discrimination in hiring is the law and the norm and classes are fixed by birth in Latin countries so no civil rights movement ever got off the ground. Everybody was as equally screwed as everybody else.

These Dems would like to get the Latinos onto the liberal plantation along with the blacks, but they are going to be quite surprised. After replacing blacks in positions of power within the Party, the Latinos will be the first to break out. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the CBC will have sandal prints all over the top of their heads.

I worked for an Egyptian Muslim who was partial to illegals. (Strange to hear Spanish with a North African accent). Some of these people were violently anti-communist and immediately recognized the obvious communist leanings of Obama.

      Pray for a miracle.

      • WhiteGuy2

Exactly, and the native South American tribes as well. They are all extinct, all that remains is ancient ruins and a few very impressive pyramids.

        • WordsFailMe

WG: Think there are any Affirmative Action plans, expedited university applications and preference in hiring and promotion for the native South Americans who survived?

          • WhiteGuy2

“WG: Think there are any Affirmative Action plans, expedited university applications and preference in hiring and promotion for the native South Americans who survived?”

Nope, and you will never hear the Liberals complain about it either.

Strange how the hispanic countries get a pass, while Americans are constantly reminded how we stole this land from the indians.

  • WhiteGuy2

We could put a stop to the political antics if we just adopt the very same immigration policy that Mexico has, virtually identical laws.

    • sDee

I think our immigration laws are sufficient but we could solve most of the problem by simply enforcing our federal immigration laws. Instead we actually provide illegals all of the benefits of citizenship, tax exemption, plus immunity from most civil and criminal prosecution. Why?

An equally dangerous situation is the 1965 immigration act. The political class in DC has been using it to establish dangerous immigration policy that for decades, n importing anti-American subversives (islamists, communists, activists). Why?

These are ticking time bombs yet with every change of crimes bosses in DC, they all continue with both. It is intentional. The central government does not want to fix this problem. It serves them well.

      • Patriot077

Yes, the 1965 Act also permitted “chain migration” which allowed the new naturalized citizens to invite family members to join them … this is one reason the numbers have exploded. There is no test for sponsorship, education, skills …

As Mark Levin says, we are the only country that foregoes its own responsibility to admit immigrants who are beneficial to the US, their adopted country. We have been so stupid!

  • MaxineCA

Love, love, love Sheriff Joe! He is a true Oath Keeper! I remember when there was the big controversy during the time of SB1070 and the DOJ going after Joe, a reporter asked him if he was worried about the politics. In typical straight face Joe fashion he replied “I wasn’t appointed by some political hack, I was elected by the people to uphold the law and keep them safe and that’s what I do.”

When the O’s DOJ went after him – he was like “bring it on”. Let’s get to discovery so I can see your evidence. He would not let Holder intimidate him or determine how he would run his department.

Then there were complaints about the food served to the inmates (it wasn’t “nutritional”) the county annexed additional land to him and he set up a huge vegetable farm that the inmates run. Whatever vegies aren’t used at the facility, are sent to a farmers market and the profits go back to the facility to offset the cost of the facility. The county wins!

When there were complaints about his tent cities in the hot desert heat, his response was, if you don’t want to be there, don’t break the law. He got a little angry and also added, if you think they have it bad here, how do you think our troops feel in Afghanistan in full gear?

He also implemented a dog rescue program which relieved the country animal shelters of over crowding and saved many, many dogs from being euthanized. Inmates with good behavior were given the privilege to care and train their dog so it would be adoptable. The adoption fees well offset the cost of the dog food and care. Another win for the county (as well as the furry friends).

I wish there was a reporter who would focus on the great things he has done for his county. He may not win a personality contest, but what a great guy!

Did you know he also has one of the very few female chain gangs? They do work on the local highways, and around the city of Phoenix.

Yet they all seem to like and respect him, and when he visits they reach out to shake his hand and ask for autographs.

      • MaxineCA

I believe the inmates respect him. Aside from the fury friends he has saved, can you imagine how many lives he’s turned around to becoming productive citizens?

        • poljunkie

          I totally agree.

Awhile back, there was a show on a local PHX channel highlighting the dogs/prisoners, and it really showed how they became responsible. In many cases it was the first time they had something to take care of, love, and that loved them back. It gave them purpose.

According to Obama, Sheriff Joe didn’t build that. No, he didn’t do that. He needed roads, bridges, and a fancy jail to achieve what he did. He had to have some teacher or guiding force in his life. It seems to me Sheriff Joe is a teacher, guiding force, and innovator…no thanks to the government.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Beauty may be skin deep, but ugly is to the bone.

  • sjmom

The sheriff is right. This is all about politics and Obama buying votes. It’s not about concern for anyone but himself, especially all of us who are citizens.

  • keninil

Joe should offer to help Soledad go under cover as an illegal alien in Mexico. Let her find out what happens to someone who is caught without papers in old Mexico.

    • ConnieConservative

Fantastic idea, Ken! I wish she would.

  • Nukeman60

Does anyone find it ironic that these people are standing in lines by the thousands to get the amnesty paperwork that costs them $500 to do so and they are not complaining one bit, but the same crowd is decrying the travesty that it costs them $5-$20 to get an ID for voting? Hmmm…

    • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

I’m betting the States will waive the fee for ID’s for folks who are on SSI or SSDI, foodstamps, or any other of a host of other support programs that require ID’s in order to receive benefits.

      • Nukeman60

Yep, it just shows the scam artists at work. Plus the fact that every state that has voter ID laws allows that person, who is trying to vote without an ID, the chance to vote a provisional ballot. The left never mentions that. It doesn’t fit the agenda.

        http://www.ncsl.org/legislatures-elections/elections/voter-id.aspx#State_Reqs

      • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

iirc georgia was going to fully cover the costs for anyone that needed an id.
I may be remembering wrong though.

    • kong1967

I’m a little confused here. People standing in line that are illegal shouldn’t be able to get a driver’s liscense to vote. I know the left wants them to be able to vote via killing the crackdown on voter fraud so they won’t even need a driver’s liscense to vote, but that’s a little different. So I’m not sure what you mean.

It’s probably not you, by the way. I’m infamous for misunderstanding people, lol.

      • Nukeman60

I’m not talking about the people in line. I’m talking about the people that are complaining photo IDs are stopping other people from voting because they cost $5-$20, while they don’t make a squeak when it will cost ‘their people’ $500 to get amnesty. Keep in mind these people in line are their future constituents.

And btw, it’s not necessarily a driver’s license, but a photo ID, period.

        Edit: State requirements to vote:

        http://www.ncsl.org/legislatures-elections/elections/voter-id.aspx

        • kong1967

Ah….gotcha! See, I told you I was good at misunderstanding. I re-read your original post and now it seems so obvious what you meant. :)

          • Nukeman60

No, no. I think I worded it poorly. Thank you for bringing it up. You never hear someone come out and say, “I want to vote, but I don’t have the $5 for a photo ID”. It’s always some political pundit saying, “But, but, there are 10% of the voting public that are without an ID and you’re stopping them from doing so because they just can’t afford the $5″.

I haven’t heard a single person come out and say, “Hey, these poor illegals can’t afford the $500 to get their amnesty”. I’m assuming the illegals are better off financially than 10% of the legal voting populace. One wonders where they get the money if they actually need this amnesty to get a job.

They must all be winning the lottery on a daily basis. Lucky them.

            • kong1967

Yeah, that’s true. Libs say there is no evidence of voter fraud so it must be true, lol.

Not only is what you say a contradiction in their complaints, but they don’t seem too worried about the military vote, either. They sue every election to try to get a lot of them blocked. That’s the only evidence I need to see their character for what it really is.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

      Bravo! Fantastic observation!

  • http://twitter.com/volgeek Tim Jaggers

Issuing driver’s licenses is a state right not a federal duty, the Congress has no say over the matter. Also, driver’s licenses are issued by the state not a local sheriff.

In fighting Arizona’s immigration law, the Administration argued that setting immigration policy was the job of the federal government and not the states. In fighting this illegal attempt to win over latino voters, states should look at the Constitution. Article 1, Section 8 states that “The Congress shall have Power … To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization”. The power to set immigration policy is explicitly given to the Congress and NOT to the Executive branch. What Obama has done is an unConstitutional powergrab and should be treated as such.

  • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

Be nice if we had a Supreme Court Chief Justice who felt the same way as Sheriff Joe.

    • kong1967

That’s true, but it would be nice if we could find many of anyone in a position of power that’s standing up to illegal immigration the way Brewer and Arpaio are.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Indeed, what a disappointment he is.

  • chatterbox365

Interesting how Soledad O’Brien doesn’t try to f**k with Sheriff Joe like she tries to do with the other guest who appear on her lame show.

Arizona has b@lls and that’s the kind of leadership our country needs. Gov Brewer and Sheriff Joe rock!

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

I venture to say that some people will move to Arizona because of people like Governor Brewer and Sheriff Joe. Then again, they have John McCain. Aside from being a war hero, he is a flop as a politician. Arizona is not a bad place, if you can endure the heat.

      • poljunkie

Summers can be extreme but the rest of the year the temp is amazing!

  • WhiteGuy2

If this country is to survive the Democrat party must come to terms with the fact that the federal government was not founded as a charitable organisation. Providing charity was not the intent of the federal government! Charity is wonderful when given of ones free will. Remove free will and charity has no meaning. YOU CANNOT IMPOSE CHARITY! Free will as given to us by God himself is paramount!

  • white531

You are looking at one of the last true Patriots in this country who is standing in front of those who are taking us every day toward a Socialist nation. God Bless Him.

  • BS61

Thanks Scoop – but it’s been a bad Soledad week enough for me – she makes my blood pressure rise!

  • kong1967

He is another great fighter against Obama, Holder and the illegals. Arizona seems to have a monopoly on the toughest fighers we have on the issue at the moment, lol.

  • http://twitter.com/mjh4259 Mary

The one and only Sheriff Joe.

  • http://twitter.com/Ramparts360 Ramparts360

Ms. O’Brien watched what she said to her guest and at least feigned some respect, for a change. That was a clever move.
    Go Sheriff Joe!

  • BM all

Only reason Obama made this executive order to give illegals driver license and other things on election year is so he can get around the voter id laws that have been put in place.

  • ConnieConservative

Well, she did smirk a lot less than she usually does at her conservative
guests. That is an improvement. Good for Sheriff Arpaio. He swears to
uphold the law and he does!

God I detest the Communist News Network. This dolt doesn’t seem to understand the word “ILLEGAL” as in against the Law. It makes no matter who brought them here, they are committing a crime just by being in the country illegally. If it wasn’t for CNN – and their cohorts – corruption, this Alien problem would be solved….

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Y2SLZRAVNFSN26JG24TIDW53E4 GibsonLP

The problem isn’t the fact that Sheriff Joe is going to enforce the law; the problem is that the federal government DIDN’T enforce the law, thereby allowing millions to flow into this country unchecked. How dare the liberals blame Joe for a problem that was created by so-called “compassionate” liberals. If they were so damned compassionate, they wouldn’t have let this problem fester the way it has. This problem can be stemmed and stopped, right now! Seal the border. If we had the will power to do so, we could stop the flow of illegals in a month’s time but the will to do so isn’t there.

Obama signed that executive order for one reason; to secure illegal votes. In his hollow, little mind, he thinks that any vote should be counted, regardless of where it comes from. If he had his way, he would have entire socialist countries voting in our election. He simply doesn’t care. He’s already shown that he hates our political system, he hates our Constitution and our way of life.

  • hongryhawg

O’Brien’s arrogance makes me puke. And that sing-song teenage voice. Please. Physically, you are an adult. Allow your brain to catch up.

  • Charm4sure

I just love how these phoney journalists like Soledad read a quote from a newspaper editorial as though it is the word of GOD. These people are so lazy and lacking in intellectual curiosity they don’t do any investigation or make any effort to fairly consider these issues they just take turns pushing the Democrat party talking points by quoting each other regurgitating the Democrat party talking points.

  • blackyb

Joe Arpaio is a good, decent, branve and honorable man who is standing when many are sticking their head in the sand. Joe and his investigative team are right all the way around. Obama should not be in the White House for many reasons and the main one is that he is not eligible another one is he is not fit if he was eligible. Put his phony and criminal azz in jail.
