Ben Shapiro is weighing on in Trump’s appointment of Bannon as his top aide in the White House and the media attacks on him that he’s a racist, white nationalist, etc:

That’s basically what I’ve believed about Trump and Bannon from the beginning. While I don’t believe they are racist, bigoted, or the like, it’s clear they wanted any vote they could get and were willing to pander to get it.
It’s what Shapiro says about Bannon’s desire to transform conservatism into some European far-right nationalist populism that worries me.

When I saw the announcement over the weekend, it was clear to me that Bannon got the top slot there just based on the title: Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor. Bannon will clearly have more influence over Trump than Priebus and it wouldn’t surprise me if Reince ends up resigning from his post in a year over disagreements about the party.
