Biden to announce new executive order on gun control tomorrow and here’s what we know…

Teleprompter Joe is reportedly going to announce a new executive order on gun control tomorrow to appease his leftist voters:

POLITICO – President Joe Biden is expected to unveil a long-awaited package of executive actions to curb gun violence Thursday at the White House, according to four people familiar with the plan.

The announcement comes nearly three months into Biden’s term in office, a delay that had frustrated activists who wanted the president to fulfill a campaign pledge to take action on gun violence on his first day in office. That frustration only grew after a slate of mass shootings in Colorado, Georgia and California.

Biden will direct the administration to begin the process of requiring buyers of so-called ghost guns — homemade or makeshift firearms that lack serial numbers — to undergo background checks, according to three people who have spoken to the White House about the plans. He is expected to be joined at the event by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Other executive actions remain unclear. But stakeholders have speculated that the president could announce regulations on concealed assault-style firearms; prohibitions on firearm purchases for those convicted of domestic violence against their partners; and federal guidance on home storage safety measures.

More than 100 House Democrats wrote to Biden last week, urging him to take action on the concealed assault-style firearms, which is similar to the one used in the Colorado shooting in which 10 people were killed.

Ghost gun regulation? That’s the big announcement? I know I haven’t been a gun connoisseur for very long – just a few years – but I’ve never even heard of people building their own guns and selling them. And unless all hell broke loose and I needed a gun for protection, I’d never even consider buying one. But that doesn’t mean I favor ‘ghost gun’ regulation, it simply means that Biden seems to be setting the bar pretty low if that’s what his big announcement.

Regarding “prohibitions on firearm purchases for those convicted of domestic violence”, that’s already prohibited. I’ve been buying guns for years now and every time I do, I have to fill out ATF Form 4473 which specifically asks “Have you ever been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence…?” If you answer ‘yes’ to that question, you are prohibited from buying a firearm.

In terms of these so-called concealable assault-style firearms like the Ruger AR-15 pistol used in the Colorado shooting, let me just repeat for the thousandth time that the gun did NOT commit the shooting. Banning that gun will not stop any shootings and will just infringe on the rights of law-abiding Americans who want to use the gun for lawful purposes.

We’ll bring you more on Biden’s actual executive order and the lawsuits that will no doubt follow if it goes too far, which is highly likely.
