Bill Kristol doesn’t think Romney can win unless he can convince more voters he has a plan to fix economy

Romney is getting hammered as of late by talking heads on the Right because of his poor messaging and his inability to gain traction with voters. This morning on Fox News Bill Kristol hammered him even more by saying that even in a bad economy like this one he doesn’t think Romney can beat Obama with such bad poll numbers indicating that only 27% of voters believe he has a clear plan to fix the economy.

He also dumped on the Romney campaign’s apparent theory of winning this election, that the incumbent will be blamed for the bad economy and Romney just needs to get out of the way. Kristol boiled the strategy down saying that Romney is essentially playing prevent-defense in the 2nd quarter when the game is all tied and that is a risky strategy even in the fourth quarter when one is ahead and that kind of strategy is one that makes him very nervous about Romney’s chances of beating Obama.
