UNC: Bloomberg criticizes backward vote on NC marriage amendment, says more work needs to be done

At the very liberal UNC-Chapel Hill’s graduation ceremony this weekend, Bloomberg took a moment to call out North Carolina for it’s backward vote on “banning same-sex marriage”, suggesting there is still work that needs to be done to ensure equality and freedom for all people:

Bloomberg has and always will be a sorry excuse for a politician. It’s one thing to disagree on an issue. I can respect that. It’s another thing to paint the citizens of North Carolina as backward thinking hicks that aren’t smart enough yet to realize his ideal of equality.

But that’s the problem with elites. We are never smart enough for them and their ivy league ideas. Our intellectual and practical arguments are just folly to them. No, we just get bitter and cling to our guns and our religion.

UPDATE: I forgot that Bloomberg left the Republican party sometime back. Corrected.
