This is just common sense. The democrats have nothing but straw men in their defense of Lerner, including the absurd notion that people are betraying the Fifth Amendment in criticizing Lerner’s silence. A notion even Woodward himself plays to, more’s the pity. Nevertheless, it has been said a million times and it should be said a million more: first she made a statement of innocence meant to be taken as fact, then she pleaded the fifth to avoid answering questions about the statement she willingly offered. It that doesn’t smell fishy to you get your nose checked.
As we’ve documented here at The Right Scoop, MSNBC is going all in with their defense of the Obama administration, portraying the IRS itself as the innocent victim of a “witch hunt.” Democrats and liberals across the country are taking the same position. So much for fight the power, eh?
As Sharyl Attkisson said this morning, the Obama administration likes to just make things go away. It is up to us as responsible citizens to not allow them to do it. And Bob Woodward knows it is the responsibility of journalism a well. There is clearly something here. The press should be sinking their teeth into it.
It should scare you that they are not.
