BOLTON: Biggest change in Middle East is “breathtaking diminution of American influence”

John Bolton said today that the biggest change in the Middle East in the last three years is what he called the “breathtaking diminution of American influence” and the rise of Russian influence, something he says we’re going to pay for, for a long time. And he puts the blame squarely on Obama for a ‘lack of strategic vision’, something exemplified in the fact that Obama seems more worried about Israel building apartments in Jerusalem than he is about Iran getting a nuclear weapon.

Watch:

“The biggest single change in the last three years is the dramatic, breathtaking diminution of American influence, the return of Russian influence. We’re in the weakest position in the Middle East we’ve been in decades and I think that’s directly attributable to the president’s lack of strategic thinking about the region, about Iran’s nuclear weapons, about the region as a whole. We’re going to pay for this for a long time.”
