BOOM! Feds announce FIRST indictment in Uranium One investigation!

The feds have released an indictment made in the Uranium One probe and it has to do with bribery of a Russian official.

From the unsealed indictment:

An indictment against a former co-president of a Maryland-based transportation company that provides services for the transportation of nuclear materials to customers in the United States and abroad, was unsealed today for his alleged role in a scheme that involved the bribery of an official at a subsidiary of Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation.

And…

Mark Lambert, 54, of Mount Airy, Maryland, was charged in an 11-count indictment with one count of conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and to commit wire fraud, seven counts of violating the FCPA, two counts of wire fraud and one count of international promotion money laundering.  The charges stem from an alleged scheme to bribe Vadim Mikerin, a Russian official at JSC Techsnabexport (TENEX), a subsidiary of Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation and the sole supplier and exporter of Russian Federation uranium and uranium enrichment services to nuclear power companies worldwide, in order to secure contracts with TENEX.

From Fox News:

More from the Hill:

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said at the time that it was “disturbing” to see that some of the yellowcake uranium had made its way overseas despite promises from the U.S. government to the contrary.

“The more that surfaces about this deal, the more questions it raises,” Grassley said in a statement.

“It now appears that despite pledges to the contrary, U.S. uranium made its way overseas as a part of the Uranium One deal,” Grassley said in the statement. “What’s more disturbing, those transactions were apparently made possible by various Obama Administration agencies while the Democrat-controlled Congress turned a blind eye.”

This can’t be good news for Hillary, though this particular indictment doesn’t seem to be directly related to her. Makes you wonder what other indictments are coming…
