Ted Cruz put the smack down on another dumb liberal today on Twitter after he tried to suggest Cruz was being a hypocrite.
Here’s how it began.
Patrick Svitek, a Texas Tribune reporter whose job it is apparently to listen to everything Ted Cruz has to say, posted this on Twitter:
Cruz: Dems using issues surrounding Charlottesville to try to "tar & feather any Republican… & paint us all as these crazy racist nutbags"
— Patrick Svitek (@PatrickSvitek) August 15, 2017
Great comment by Ted Cruz, but not according to Simon Maloy whose Twitter bio says he’s written for The Week, Rolling Stone, Salon, and The Prospect. According to Simon, Cruz’s remark amounts to hypocrisy because he once called Obama the “world’s biggest financier of terrorism”:
Ted Cruz famously gave a speech calling Barack Obama the world's biggest financier of terrorism (cuz of Iran deal) https://t.co/eEsA6IQRq6
— Simon Maloy (@SimonMaloy) August 15, 2017
Fortunately Ted Cruz was watching and decide to take Maloy on a little trip to school for a history lesson:
Uh, facts matter. Fact 1: Iran is world's largest funder of terrorism. Fact 2: Obama gave Iran $1.7 billion, in unmarked cash. Therefore…. https://t.co/0OBrTNlBjG

Boom! Facts do matter! Cha cha cha!
And here’s the thing, Obama didn’t just give Iran the money, he flew three planeloads full of CASH right to Iran’s own airport. People who win the lottery aren’t that lucky.
Ted Cruz was right then and he’s right now to call Obama the “world’s biggest financier of terrorism”!

In unrelated news Ted Cruz also posted this on his Facebook a few minutes ago:
In filing this brief w/ Rep. @PeteOlson, we're taking a stand in defense of the unborn https://t.co/kkYc13RWZA #DefundPP #TXSen #Stand4Life

Planned Parenthood has been subject to a series of thorough investigations by both chambers in Congress, where evidence of gross misconduct, including a widespread practice of trafficking fetal body parts directly violating federal and state law, was discovered.
The state of Texas took the only responsible course of action and eliminated Planned Parenthood from eligibility for state Medicaid funds. These measures were sensible, within Texas’ sovereign and statutory authority, and necessary to protect Texans from the organization’s dangerous practices.
In filing this brief along with Rep. Pete Olson, we are taking a strong stand in defense of the unborn while defending the rights of the state of Texas to decide how to allocate its precious resources.
Awesome.
