Police respond to shooting report at New York mall…, [Updated]

There are social media reports of an active shooter at a mall in New York state.

I’ll update as necessary.

UPDATE:

The mall was evacuated, police still figuring out what happened. Seeing contradictory reports.

UPDATE:

More from NBC New York:

Shoppers are being evacuated from a mall in Orange County amid reports of a shooting, state police say.

The shooting was reported at Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown around 3:15 p.m.

The area in and around the mall was under evacuation shortly before 4 p.m., according to state police.

No suspects or victims have been located, police said.

On social media, witnesses described dozens of emergency vehicles, with helicopters flying overhead. They said children and adults were crying as they evacuated from the location.

“Police and ambulances everywhere,” Julia Gulia wrote on Twitter. “Was just about to head in but missed it thank goodness.”

I’ll keep looking for more confirmed details.

Here’s another tidbit:

It doesn’t look like there are many details out still…

FINAL UPDATE:

Police are saying it was an accidental discharge and no one was seriously hurt.
