UPDATE 20: Dead shooter identified as Aaron Alexis, 34, of Texas. One suspect police thought was involved has been found and released:

FOX NEWS – A gunman suspected in the killing of at least eleven people at a Navy building in Washington has been identified as Aaron Alexis, 34, of Texas, Fox News has learned, although police were searching for a second possible suspect in the attack.

Police were operating under the theory that the gunman may not have acted alone, although one person being sought was later found and cleared. Alexis was killed in the shooting, which broke out just after 8 a.m. at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in southeast Washington.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier told reporters that 12 people died in the early morning incident at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in southeast Washington. There were conflicting reports on the number of victims and the number of gunmen in the ensuing hours, although a federal law enforcement official told Fox News that one shooter has died. Police said as many as two additional gunmen wearing military-style uniforms may still be at large and thousands of workers at the building were told to “shelter in place” until officials could safely evacuate them.

“This is not over,” Rear Admiral John Kirby, the U.S. Navy’s chief spokesman, told reporters. “The building is still in lockdown, as are other buildings. Still being treated as an active search. No one is moving right now.”

UPDATE 19: This from the Chief of Police at a press conference: 12 Confirmed dead; Others injured including police (not all gun shot wounds); Suspects still on the loose: White Male wearing tan military naval uniform wearing beret-style, black male 40-50 years old wearing olive military who is 5’10” with gray hair on side of head.

UPDATE 18: Both NBC Washington (via livestream) and NBC Evening News are reporting that the death toll is now 7 dead and up to 15 may have been shot:

UPDATE 17: Turns out initial reports by CBS and NBC identifying suspect as Rollie Chance are WRONG:

UPDATE 16: Or maybe that suspect info is incorrect after all:

UPDATE 15: CBS News is identifying shooter (assuming dead?) as Navy chief petty officer Rollie Lee Chance, born 1963, from Chesapeake, VA:

Also more info about weapons:

UPDATE 14: Below is the Chief of Police in DC at the first press conference talking about the 2 shooters on the loose:

UPDATE 13: DC Police Chief says at press conference there are potentially 2 other shooters on the loose that police are searching for: White Male wearing Kahki military uniform with handgun, Black male in 50s with Olive drab military uniform with ‘long gun’, the other shooter dead. UPDATE 12: The AP is now reporting that the death toll is 6 now and police are checking for a possible second shooter:

UPDATE 11: Multiple sources now reporting that the number shot was 11 and 4 were killed. Also being reported is that the shooter was a former Navy official:

UPDATE 10: NBC Washington reporting from NBC News that there may have only been one shooter. That shooter has been neutralized and, according NBC Washington, and used a double barrel shotgun to target specific people, according to police.

UPDATE 9: NBC Washington now reporting 4 officers down and that includes a mix of police and naval officers…

UPDATE 8: NBC Washington reporting from 2 police sources that shooter is dead. Second Shooter still on the loose according to WNEW below…

UPDATE 7: NBC Washington reporting that Pete Williams from NBC News is telling them that the 2nd shooter operating in a 2nd building and police are still searching for suspect. Gunfire still being reported… UPDATE 6: NBC Washington confirming at least 10 people shot…4 killed. Also, more details are coming out that shooter was firing from overlook down at people in cafeteria:

UPDATE 5: NBC Washington reporting that police are telling them it is still an “active shooter situation.” They are also hearing from police that there are at least 2 shooters and they believe one has been taken down.

UPDATE 4: Washington Post also reporting MULTIPLE SHOOTERS – at least 3:

Three shooters are involved in the Navy Yard shooting, a police spokeswoman said.

One of the shooters is “down,” police said, but two remain in a building on the grounds.

One of the shooters at large is dressed in fatigues. At least one has a long gun, police said.

UPDATE 3: NBC Washington now reporting from multiple sources that there are MULTIPLE SHOOTERS involved in shooting…

UPDATE 2: Senior Navy official telling NBC Washington that 12 people were shot and 4 of them are dead.

UPDATE 1: At least 10 people shot according to NBC Washington Livestream.

***

At least seven shot including two police officers at a DC Naval yard and the shooter is still on the loose:

NBC WASHINGTON – As many as seven people were shot – two of them police officers – on the grounds of the Washington Navy Yard Monday morning, and the shooter has not yet been apprehended, authorities confirmed.

One of those shot was a D.C. police officer, reported NBC News’ Pete Williams.

The U.S. Navy says three shots were fired at 8:20 a.m. inside Building #197 at the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters, 1336 Isaac Hull Ave. in the Southeast section of the District. U.S. military officials say the gunman – armed with an AR-15, a military-style assault weapon – first shot an U.S. base security officer.

Authorities say a base police officer also was seriously injured.

One victim was reported to be on the roof of a building, reported News4’s Tony Tull.

The shots continued to ring out through the morning, including a volley that Tull reported at about 9:20 a.m.

Tragically convenient for the Obamanation Administration.

Breaking News: Lone shooter at Washington Navy Yard

  • NYGino

    More “workplace violence”?

    • Is_Sense_Common

I thought that too Gino. Prayers going up for our men (and women) in uniform.

  • Rshill7

It’s a lone AR-15 dragging a shooter behind it against his will.

  • c4pfan

I can’t believe that security is that bad there.

    • cnswpassion

I can, husband in military and it is bad on many installations. The military has let it’s guard down. We have had warnings such as, Ft. Hood, Frankfurt airport in Germany, and many other failed attempt. Yet I do not see the security that should be in place. I believe it is intentional to dispirit the troops.

    • NYGino

Haven’t you heard? Our military are not allowed to be armed in military installations. Think Fort Hood, it took a civilian policewoman to stop Hasan.

      • Rshill7

Unarmed military. That’s like fully clothed strippers and blind surgeons.

        • NYGino

          Kinda defeats the purpose.

      • c4pfan

Yes, but I thought that changed.

        • Xman97

If you live on post, you can “secure” your weapon in the home. If you live in the barracks it MUST be stored in the Arms Room. IF you live OFF post and have a Concealed Carry License, you are forbidden to carry on post. The only way you can bring a gun on post is for hunting or the gun range and then you can ONLY go directly to your destination and back.. cannot pass GO or get gas or ammo, etc.
Most soldiers and all civilians employees live OFF post. So in essence, if you have a CC you have to leave it at home. Which means if you want to stop by Walmart after work, you have to go home to get your weapon before going to Walmart.
The irony of all this is lost on most if not all Leadership in the military.

      • Xman97

You beat me to this comment.. We are forbidden to carry weapons on post.. It’s an executive order, meaning at the President’s Level. Though I don’t know if this existed prior to Obama, there’s no chance that SOb would change it. Even in states with Concealed Carry Laws, you cannot carry on post.
So only a fool should be surprised when an active shooter kills multiple people on a military installation..
Reports suggest this is a “bald, black man”. I’ll put money on him being a Muslim convert.

        • NYGino

Our Muslim in chief is hoping not, but even if he was Obama would just brush that fact off as meaningless.

          • Xman97

The scary thought is that one day when our MnC decides to use the military for Martial Law; I don’t think there are enough Officers & Leaders in the Military with Spines to dis-obey those orders. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see it.

            • NYGino

Xman, they don’t have to be active. You’re forgetting all the ex-military who still hold patriotic beliefs. Janet Napolitano didn’t classify military personnel coming home as potential terrorists for nothing.

She knows they believe in America. They’ve already walked the walk for our country.

              • Xman97

I know.. I was just referring to the fact that most Officers don’t know, realize or care that their Oath of Office says “they will support and defend the Constitution of the US against all enemies foreign and domestic”… instead they get too wrapped up in “following the orders” of the dictator in chief with very little check on the Constitutionality of those orders (I’m speaking of Generals in this case). Anyway, I might be cynical, but I think too many will either not disobey orders because of their “career” or they are sympathetic to the Prez’s social/political beliefs.

                • NYGino

That’s a fact. Seems that at some point in an officer’s career (Colonel maybe? ) they jump from being a military man to a political pawn. Seen it happen too often.

      • PhillyCon

This is one of the most bizarre things I have ever heard of. Seriously?! I guess I should not be surprised anymore …

    • stage9

Like someone has already said: DC is a “gun-free zone”.

  • c4pfan

I just hope people learn by now not to assume first reports are true. Even with ‘live feed’.

  • Sue Townsend Walters

praying for them. hope they catch all of them. murderers.

  • PVG

Praying for sanity, cool heads, common sense, and armed military bases. This has gotta stop!!

    • canb0nly1

It boggles the mind: unarmed military.

  • colliemum

My heart goes out to the victims and their families – praying that God give them the strength they now need.

Isn’t it time that weapons are now allowed to be carried on military installations?
And isn’t it time that the armed forces take a long hard look at the enemy within?

I hope, for the sake of others, that Congress now urgently overturns this presidential order.

However, I can hear the gun control freaks scream for more ‘control’ already …

    • c4pfan

I expect ‘security’ to do their job and secure the place.

    • kong1967

They are looking at the enemy within. It’s us and returning vets. Anyone that’s “patriotic”.

  • bahamianhoosier

Witness report a “tall black male”. Think this will be reported? Or will they become a hero like the LAPD officer?!

    • kong1967

It’s being reported on Fox, by a black many interviewing a black man.

      • c4pfan

I don’t understand what you just posted.

        • kong1967

The question was whether or not it will be reported that it was a black man doing the shooting. Fox is reporting that, and it was a black reporter interviewing a black witness that said it was a black shooter. No bias because of race. Of course, I don’t know how CNN and others are reporting it.

    • GetWhatYouPayFor

Well if Black there is a 96% probability he was an Obama voter. I hope the police didn’t act stupidly, and let him live, because Holder won’t prosecute.

  • kong1967

“Disgruntled worker(s)” probably isn’t a viable motive since there are multiple shooters. Question is, is it tied to terrorism?

    • NYGino

That’s a question that probably won’t be answered truthfully by this administration. It’s a shame that we’ve come to the point that we don’t believe anything they tell us.

      • kong1967

Yeah, it will be called workplace violence even if they scream “Allahu ackbar” and explicitly say “death to all infidels”.

    • stage9

Homeland Security assures us that it is not.

      • NYGino

        Of course they do.

      • kong1967

ROFLMAO (at Homeland Security)! Just like they said the Fort Hood shooter was workplace violence and that the Tea Party and returning vets are threats of terrorism.

  • MiketheMarine

Not, this is terrorism. My best friend is a Lt. Col in the Marines that works at the Navy Yard. No word from him yet and NOW there is a shooting at Bolling AF base which was my base. There are now two attacks at the Navy Yard and Bolling AF base. Prayers please folks.

    • colliemum

Heartfelt prayers for your friend, and for your former colleagues!

Knowing that there’s a friend of yours involved, and that this is your former stomping ground, makes it personal.

      • MiketheMarine

        Thanks you.

    • stage9

So there are two separate active shooter incidences?

      • MiketheMarine

Yes, two different shootings. The Navy Yard and Bolling AF base are about 6 miles apart. This is terrorism. My brother Marines are all over both bases. Get ’em Brothers. Kill them all.

        • factsobill

May they die and get to Hell an hour before God knows they’re dead!

          • MiketheMarine

May former Marines have their soulds for play and fun.

    • sjmom

Absolutely will pray Mike. Definitely some kind of terrorism involved here.

    • kong1967

Great. So this isn’t an isolated incident. The Al Qaeda leader did call for a wave of attacks, so maybe it’s starting. I hope you hear from your best friend.

      • MiketheMarine

Okay, the Bolling incident is a false story. Bad info. Thank God but from what I’m hearing about the wounded, this is NOT an American Military person. These guys were lousy shots.

        • kong1967

Thank God they were lousy shots. Could have been many more killed. I just hope they splattered their brains all over the walls.

    • kong1967

Oh, don’t mistake my “great” being literal or a good thing. It sucks when you can’t see demeanor. I meant it as a frustrated “oh crap” sort of way.

      • MiketheMarine

Fear not. I got that. I am just on pins and needles until I hear from my buddy. I’m ready to drive down there but my guns are not here with me.

        • kong1967

          I don’t blame you.

  • kong1967

The second shooter has nowhere to go, but it becomes a question of how many people he can reach to kill as of yet. Are there still civilians in there and personnel not involved in tracking this guy down?

    • MiketheMarine

Both military and civilians. I hear that both shooters at the Navy Yard are down. No word on Bolling AF base yet.

  • MiketheMarine

I served at Bolling AF base and I know tons of guys there. OMG, don’t let my friends survive combat to die like this.

  • sjmom

Has anyone given a description of the shooters?? What a tragedy and I will pray for everyone involved and their families.

    • MiketheMarine

Both dead is all I know. No other info yet.

      • factsobill

Just came in: 1 shooter dead,Black, bald, former Navy offical! They think they have two more shooters, holed up in a building with Long guns! Still shooting!

  • MiketheMarine

Okay, good news. The report of a shooting at Bolling AF base is not happening. False report. Thank God.

  • NYGino

Obama was supposed to speak about this a while ago, hasn’t shown up yet. Probably trying to figure out a good, politically correct story.

  • Richard Drakos

Well shoot. This is indeed awful. I know Weasel Zippers had a link to someone on Twitter saying the first shooter at least was a black male about 5-11. Gonna be an interesting story to follow for sure.

  • canb0nly1

Don’t worry, DHS already knows it’s not terrorists!

  • NYGino

” Bin Laden is dead and Al-Qaeda is on the run.”

  • MiketheMarine

Okay, just got a text from my friend. He is right in the middle of it but is fine. He took up a pistol and responded. Tha’s my boy…. Thank you God.

    • colliemum

      God be praised!

But – he had a pistol???? I’m sure that’s illegal in a gun free zone, military or not, thanks to the eejit in the WH.

      • MiketheMarine

Would YOU try to stop a 5 combat tour, US Marine from grabbing a pistol? I wouldn’t. Percy and I are cut from the came cloth. Nobody is responsible for our well being but us.

        • colliemum

LOL! I wouldn’t advise anyone to try!
On the other hand – let the lefties try, and live with the consequences!

So glad your friend is ok and did what he swore to do.

          • MiketheMarine

He’s good, thank God. Plus, I just bought another pistol. A Sig Sauer P239 SAS 2nd Generation.

        • factsobill

          Colonel Cooper is validated again!

    • stage9

Um, they aren’t looking for your friend are they?

“White Male wearing Kahki military uniform with handgun…”

      • MiketheMarine

Nope, my friend is an huge black guy in Dress Blue Charlie working uniform. If it were him there would be no survivors. I taught him to shoot. LOL

        • stage9

The “Chief” just said he was wearing a Naval Uniform. Of course, she described him as a “white male”…

      • I heard it was a “dark skinned shooter”. Of course that may just be one–they’re saying there may be more than one or it could be that the shooter has more than one gun.

Also last time I heard it was kahki pants–military “like” clothes. Expect the Lame Stream media will probably jump the shark and speculate it’s a soldier with PTSD, but we don’t know if this guy just picked up some clothes to blend in.

  • colliemum

And the usual suspects on twitter are already on about ‘lets get rid of guns to end the violence’.
This was a gun-free zone, lefties, ok? No guns except the one used by the murderer! And in a military installation, you eejits!

  • stage9

“used a double barrel shotgun to target specific people, according to police.”

Biden isn’t going to like this.

  • NullUnit60

High Russian alcoholism rate, high suicide rate, high child prostitution rate and high child abandonment rate, high unemployment rate, high poverty rate… low low birth rate… and the list goes on and on … on top of Russia being a non-democracy democracy.

But to paraphrase the words of the Russian mocker… ” A clear confirmation of Russian exceptionalism…”

To quote from an old Russian slap to the Soviet style economy:

“It used to be that there was a freedom loving Rus and it used to be that three kopeks bought you a goose.” Even Tsarist Russia had an attraction that Putin’s Russia still can’t match.

  • NYGino

Expect Susan Rice to come out and speak to the nation about this. She has the experience.

    • MiketheMarine

Must have been an offensive video.

  • I am really interested in hearing a motive. This shyte is crazy. Potentially 2 other shooters? Wow. Fox is giving a News Conference. I’m watching.

So that means there were 3 shooters. Wow.

  • Barbara Ann

PTSD no doubt. What a shame.

    • c4pfan

I don’t assume anything until way more info is brought up. Remember what happened to that shooting death of the prison chief in Colorado?

    • Conservative_Hippie

      Murderous heartless scum no doubt.

  • RighteousCrow_JustCaws

Yeah! Ubama is getting regular updates; for Benghazi…he went to bed.

  • NYGino

Obama just came out a little while ago, addressed the shooting more or less in terms of another gun related mass shooting, assured us those responsible will be brought to justice ( we’ve heard that before ) and then went on to tell us about the terrible economic condition he inherited and how he is focused , as he always has been (cough) on jobs and the middle class economy and how he is on top of things.

    The man is truly sick.

    • Conservator1

I’m sure sometime today, Obama’s PAC will issue an email to elicit donations for the need to pass greater gun-control legislation. And if the shooter(s) are Muslim, it will be classified as an act of workplace violence just like Fort Hood. I’m sure

Team Obama is hoping those who committed this evil act against the innocent were Christians, Jews or even Buddhists.

    • Conservative_Hippie

Agreed! He’s playing the same broken record over and over again!

  • stage9

OK, so there are three shooters and one is in his 50’s whose work status had recently changed.

I’m confused. Why 3 shooters then? Have all three of their work status’s changed?

    • c4pfan

Tell me about it. Not much info at all from this ‘news conference’ to me.

    • Conservative_Hippie

Best not to try to make too much sense of it yet. Wait on the LSM to tell you what happen! /sarc

  • stage9

What really pisses me off is that political correctness often prevents us from hearing the REAL news in these stories.

    • Conservative_Hippie

      Agreed!

  • colliemum

What p*sses me off are the LILVs (low information leftie voters) who now mock the military for not having taken out the shooters, as the military have so much hardware and are so skilled … they never heard that guns aren’t allowed inside military installations, thanks to the POS. But mocking the Armed Forces is what lefties do …

  • stage9

Why is “Seinfeld” lawyer Jackie Chiles standing behind the police Chief?

  • c4pfan

Here we go with the wrong information on who did it.

    • stage9

I know. It’s Monday and I just can’t deal with all of the mindless speculation and finger pointing. I’m just going to wait until the dust settles and deal with all of the anti-gun zealots at that time.

Well then, we better call in Lebanon Levi for assistance. He and his three member mafia can take care of this.

    • Yazz55

I’m wondering how long it will be until the lamestream media will somehow allege or insinuate that the shooter(s) are “tea party”.

      It fits their narrative.

  • Can we just nuke Russia now?

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2013/sep/16/russian-official-mocks-navy-yard-shooting/

A Russian official blasted “American exceptionalism” in a tweet Monday morning, saying the deadly shooting at Washington’s Navy Yard confirms the worst about the U.S.

“A new shootout at Navy headquarters in Washington — a lone gunman and 7 corpses. Nobody’s even surprised anymore,” tweeted Alexey Pushkov, a member of the Russian parliamentary foreign affairs committee.

“A clear confirmation of American exceptionalism,” he added.

    • Conservative_Hippie

I don’t trust the Russian regime (Putin et al.) as far as I can spit! Obama would be wise to watch his proverbial step with them!

      • sDee

He bowed to Putin too remember.

        • Conservative_Hippie

          The “Bower-in-Chief”!

    • steprock

Stalin. Tanks roll over the citizens in Russia…and no one’s surprised.

  • Kelly60

    Meh…workplace violence…isn’t that what it’s called?

  • harglide

How long before nobama states it is a “work place violence incident”??
    Anyone wanna make a bet??

    • Kelly60

      aha…beat ya to it

      • Conservative_Hippie

LOL! That’s why were Scoopers, “Great minds!”

  • Richard Drakos

Wow. This is one confusing story. So, it’s some guy in his 50’s and 3 random dudes? Why do I have such a hard time believing that. I’m sure there is way more to this story than we are being told. So now the shooter is NOT identified? Hmmmm.

    • Conservative_Hippie

It does sound a little odd.

  • MiketheMarine

We need to give every military veteran a national concealled carry permit. I want to make this a vote. Yays or nays, folks. I’d like opinions.

    • 3R1Tech

We need to give every law abiding citizen a national concealed carry permit – not just vets Mike – everyone has the God given right to defend themselves as they see fit.

      • MiketheMarine

I agree with you but we’ve got to start somewhere. If I weren’t a veteran I would still carry. I don’t have a CCP yet since I live in socialist Maryland but when I feel the need I carry anyway. Good luck stopping me from doing to Feds. It will take a company of Marines to do that.

      • steprock

Don’t we have one? 2nd Amendment allows us to keep and bear arms already.

      • sDee

Or more accurately, we need to remove all unconstitutional restrictions on possesing a weapon.

        • 3R1Tech

          +1

      • keyesforpres

We do have one…it’s called the 2nd amendment…

    • Richard Drakos

I’m for it. Didn’t Obama make it where soldiers can carry weapon on base or something like that?

      • MiketheMarine

Heck no. Maobama knows that arming troops at home is dangerous because, deep down, he does understand that the second ammendment is in place to kill federal officials if the government becomes tyranical. Kind of like it is now.

        • Richard Drakos

D’oh. Meant to put can’t carry weapons. Butterfingers lol

        • tinlizzieowner

Didn’t you get the message? According to Obama, we can’t have guns, we’re ‘dysfunctional Veterans’, remember? 😉 😉

          • MiketheMarine

Now I have a .45 and a nine mil. and I am willing to turn in all of my ammo. One fired round at a time.

            • tinlizzieowner

              I’m close. I’ve got an H&R .32 cal revolver and a S&W mod. 29, 44 mag and a couple semi-auto ‘long guns’. 😉 😉

              • MiketheMarine

I have a Springfield Armory M1911A1 .45 ACP in stainless, a Sig Sauer P239 SAS 2nd generation 9 Mil. plus a Remington 700 classic in .257 Roberts and a few 12 gauge shotguns. and ammo, ammo, ammo. Not to mention 3 combat knives, 5 pocket knives and a swiss army knife. All within reach of my pillow and if those don’t work I’ll piss on ’em. LOL

I’ll see ya and raise you a (cheap Chinese) Samuari sword, an axe handle next to the front door and an Armalite AR-7. 😉 😉

  • stage9

What were we all talking about before this story broke this morning? OH, that’s right, Obama was looking like a fool in the eyes of the world.

    Now we’re focused on a mass shooting. Follow the birdie…go on…follow it….

  • billma40

    !2 now reported dead.

  • colliemum

This is heartbreaking – and was so unnecessary. If all military personnel had been allowed to carry arms, the shooters would have been dead well before they’d been able to kill so many.

When will the lefties grasp that these shootings always happen in gun-free zones?

    • steprock

Never will admit that. If only they could get 100% of guns, then the cops would keep us safe and all we’d have to worry about is box cutters and pressure cookers, which don’t do much harm. 🙁

      • colliemum

        Sadly true!
A leftie tweeted that there must be no more guns, but the innocent must be protected.
Yeah right – how? By throwing fluffy cotton balls and singing Kumbaya?

        • DawgfaninFL

Having to listen to Obama say we’ve had another “deadly mass shooting” just about made me ill.
I prefer to keep my guns and take my chances any day. The man is worthless. He then goes on to say we will bring the shooter to justice…one of them is dead-moron. Lord help us.

    • stage9

I said it last time this happened (in MA), I’ll say it this time…this is going to happen again, and again, and again, and again…until we learn that it is America’s moral compass that is broke, not the Constitution’s Second Amendment.

We removed God and His moral law, now we will have to live with the immoral mayhem that fills the void.

      • colliemum

Yes, just as it is over here.
“The Government” tells us what is moral and what isn’t – like ‘respecting’ the religion of peas but disallowing anything to do with Christianity.
How wearing a cross is ‘forcing your religion on me’, but wearing the burkha isn’t, I’ll never understand.

        • stage9

“If they hated me, they will hate you.” — Jesus Christ

    • The shooting probably wouldn’t have happened if this was NOT a gun-free. It’s hard to measure actions that never happen because the person decides not to go through with something.

  • Conservative_Hippie

Prayers going up! And in the mean time get those SOB’s!

    EDIT: excuse my french.

    • stage9

      I cannot do that.

Good thing there was a black man shooting! Now instead of getting non-stop liberal news coverage, it will get 50% coverage on just the white suspect!

  • GetWhatYouPayFor

Senate put on recess by Dingy Harry. HMMMM.

  • sentforth5

HMMM I can’t help but wonder if some scandal-ridden loser in DC made a call on his Blackbarry to some friends who could create a diversion….I don’t like thinking this way, but DC has proven themselves to be enemies of the people of the USA.

  • c4pfan

Why don’t SWAT or whomever just storm in there?

    • Even SWAT needs to have a place or area to storm.

  • c4pfan

I noticed this in The Blaze article “…was using a former employee’s identification…”, just like what happened with that Colorado prison chief. He was killed by a guy that killed a Domino’s Pizza delivery man and took his uniform, etc and pretended to deliver a pizza to the prison chief.

I wonder if the other two did the same?

  • nibblesyble

What heartbreaking stuff, much prayers for the victims and loved ones…and praying even harder that they catch these animals soon!

  • Shooter is Aaron Alexis, possible former contractor from Ft Worth.

    I found this: http://themoderatevoice.com/186698/former-civilian-contractor-aaron-alexis-idd-as-suspect-in-washington-navy-yard-shooting/

BREAKING: NBC News identifies the suspect in the Washington D. C. Navy Yard shooting as Aaron Alexis, 34, originally of Ft. Worth, Texas. He is a civilian contractor. He reportedly used the ID of a former employee to gain access into the facility. Twelve people are dead and several others wounded. The death toll is expected to rise. The potential shooter was described by witnesses as carrying a long gun, which some have said could have been an assault rifle.

Also found this Aaron Alexis photo (NOT VERIFIED) from Ft Worth comes up in Google images under Busted Mug Shots. (Is VERY slow in loading. Easier to find in Google Images) http://www.bustedmugshots.com/texas/fort-worth/aaron-alexis/45611151

  • colliemum

So now the (dead) criminal has been named (check it out) – and the lefties howl about wanting background checks now!
As if criminals (and having such guns is a criminal offense in DC) got their guns legally, with background checks and all the leftie bells and whistles!
Have they never heard of Chicago?

They will not rest until they have thrashed the 2nd Amendment. There is no arguing with them. Facts simply don’t matter – only their leftie ‘feelings’ do!
    I loathe them.

    • sentforth5

The push to take our guns will continue until there is real bloodshed in my opinion. They will not stop cause evil is dumb.

      • Evil is just evil–it knows it’s evil and plots to do evil. Sheeple are dumb.

    • Lefties will never want background checks–they’ll just step up the mantra to take away our guns.

      • warpmine

They didn’t care to do a background check on the usurper so what’s the use. We’re now shackled to a president that hates and has always hated his country right from the beginning of his birth in Kenya.

Tragic. Just tragic. But have no doubts the progs will renew their 2nd A attacks. I wonder if we will ever know the truth about these shootings

  • c4pfan

The Blaze has good info and it seems that the shooter had a shotgun and the other guns he got by shooting the officer/security guard? If that’s the case, then security really sucks. Aren’t they trained for something like this?

    • keyesforpres

If they were ambushed or shot at a distance while hiding behind something it could happen.

    • NPC

They are trained like they trained the obamacare navigators.

  • Bill in Tennessee

Response time for most cops (depending on which city): 8-15 minutes
Response time for my .45: 1,050 feet per second
Response time for my 9mm: 1250 feet per second
Response time for my Mini-14: 1300 feet per second
Response time for cops in Detroit: Never
Equip yourself and don’t bother calling 911….when seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.

    • Rshill7

Response time for AR-15: 3,200 feet per second.

      • Bill in Tennessee

Come to think of it, I grossly understated the Mini-14 response time; it’s more of the .223 variety of 2800 to 3000 FPS, right up there with the 5.56 round for the AR-15. Man, what was I thinking?

        • warpmine

          ??????????????

          • Bill in Tennessee

The Ruger Mini-14 is chambered for .223, and has ballistics similar to those of the 5.56 AR-15 round, as well as muzzle velocity.

            • warpmine

              ?????????=what was I thinking.

    • warpmine

Sweet!! ….but a little to hot for me. I want to baby my 1911 for many years to come. I’ll stick with the old fashioned slower HP loads, they do the job just fine, sir.

        • warpmine

Without a doubt but it’s nice to have it when you need it. I looked into for my Glock 20 10mm. Everyone was producing ammo that was equivalent to the .40 s&w which is great but why have a pistol chambered in 10mm if you’re not going to push it a bit more. I was also looking for ammo for my new BN-36 that was a bit hotter than what I’ve seen. Prices for the hot rounds is marginally more so I figured it was worth a few pennies more.

Don’t think so – not heard Obama blame it on a spontaneous protest in response to an offensive youtube video yet.

      • keyesforpres

Nor have I heard Ron Paul say the guy did it because of our foreign policy.

  • JIMH

    I know, If Obammy had a son….Heard that already……..

  • NJK

Can someone explain to me why our military seems incompetent at protecting their installations? This silly rule about the military not being armed when their on bases or other facilities is just bizarre.

This military needs to clean house in a big way. Those in charge aren’t warriors, I don’t know what they are. They leave their own people vulnerable, while they sit behind their cushy desks.

    • c4pfan

That’s my #1 question! Why aren’t people upset at how horrible security is? I mean, how can anyone argue to have armed guards at school when this one guy did all that killing at a military facility?

      • NPC

Total and complete incompetence. Just an other part of PC.

    • johnfromjersey

We have Bill Clinton to thank for that absurd law. If we had a George Patton or Chesty Puller around today, that crap law would never have stood!

What a waste of life. No sooner did he kill 13 innocent people, and himself shot dead, than he was standing before the throne of a Holy and Almighty God and the victims he killed, and then ushered into an eternity in hell.

    And for what?

      Unless he were saved already.

We have some background information on him. According to this, he was a Buddhist…I’m having a hard time believing.

I don’t get how they don’t know more about him.

What ever happened to standing watch?
Why isn’t there well armed Marines at every entrance to a building with that high a security level?
Where the hell is Chesty Puller when we need him?

    • tinlizzieowner

“Why isn’t there well armed Marines at every entrance to a building with that high a security level?”
This is what happens when the security is farmed out to the SEIU. 🙂

  • iaintlyin

O says he’s gonna have his crack investigators on it. thats big of him but I hope it ain’t the same guys that got to the bottom of Benghazi, the IRS scandal and every other threat (born from his administration) that has come against America and its freedoms in the last 5 years.

  • Prayers for the families and friends of all the victims. This is just such a freaking waste.
WHAT the he11 is wrong with this sentence?!
“Police said as many as two additional gunmen wearing military-style uniforms may still be at large and thousands of workers at the building were told to “shelter in place” until officials could safely evacuate them.”

This was a Navy yard. Ft. Hood was an army base. People who work with and for the military are told to shelter in place, in other words Hide until officals can evacuate, or rescue them. Gee I wonder how many people there today wish they had have been able to carry at their workplace, and how many dead there would be if this was NOT a gun free zone? I wonder if this Buddhist or whatever would have gone in blazing if people were allowed to CC?

What a waste, and what a pathetic situation in a nation which was founded on the right to bear arms.

    • keyesforpres

Our Founders are twirling in their graves.

      • YES! Hey Keyes, sorry, off topic, but I posted on an earlier thread, Laurel’s story about “Robbin’ the Hood” http://therightscoop.com/robbin-da-hood/ I posted an O/T comment you might want to check out- CFP made their latest Endorsement last night for S. Carolina.

        • keyesforpres

          Thanks American!
          I will pass that along.
I knew I kind of liked him when one of our supposed semi conservative papers that lean libertarian, ridiculed him for speaking out about islam. The fool running that online paper said, “What difference does someone’s religion make?” Geez, how could anyone in this day and age be so clueless!
Anyway, as soon as I read that Bright was speaking out on the evils of islam I knew he would most likely be my choice.
Met the gal running and was not impressed. She was unengaged and didn’t want to listen to what I had to say. She pretty much ignored me and got on her phone.
Also, read an article about her interview she had on the Blaze and how she couldn’t really answer the question on why she was running.

          • We vetted all three carefully, I read that article you’re talking about- lawngreen passed some info to me. We noticed that same thing. What difference?! Seriously? But then again… those articles I wrote seem to keep haunting me about Libertarians now.

Thanks Keyes. I informed Bright last night on his FB page that we’d endorsed him, and on twitter. He was very appreciative. We need to find everyone we can from S.Carolina to support him!! Gotta get rid of Grahamnesty, but you don’t need me to tell you lol.
            Thanks!!

            • keyesforpres

Yeah, I loathe Miss Lindsey. She is a nasty one!

            • keyesforpres

Oh, maybe you should tell Bright that it would be a really good idea to want to secure the border. Period. While simultaneously deporting folks and overturning O’s illegal executive orders on amnesty and everything else!
Too many folks are saying “secure the border first”…which means amensty second.
Haven’t heard his stance on the issue, but thought he might want some friendly advice! 🙂

              • Believe me, I tell them! First hand experience that the laws we have now are sufficient if they would stop ignoring them and enforce them. And border Security while we enforce the laws we have! 🙂

              • Well, I say secure the borders first. But I always follow that with, then in five years or so, let’s see how well it’s working before deciding what other things we have to do. If it’s not working as well as it should, tighten down further, and also stiffen the penalties for hiring, sheltering, or otherwise refusing to pick up and deport illegals (barack should be arrested under such a law).

Then in five years, check again. If not, loop back and crack down harder.

If things are much improved, then we can look around and decide what to do with any illegals who decided to stay here.

            • keyesforpres

Also, Thank you so much for what you are doing by vetting the candidates. It’s much appreciated. I’ve already forwarded it to folks.

              • I’ve had a lot of help, so thank you Keyes! I appreciate that! I’ll pass it along to the others! Thank you for passing it along. I’ll keep posting when we get the next names out!

          • Good to see someone else was a bit nervous about her.

Beck’s grilling was not that difficult. He asked her the kind of questions people darn well ought to ask themselves before deciding to run.

    • NPC

We can thank wild Bill Clinton for the reason of not being able to CC on military installations. Makes me wonder, what’s going on in his head, about now.
Not to get off the subject, but about the time the Clintons came in to the White House, the office of the Presidency has become a rats nest of low quality people, and thinking.and it’s been on a steep down slide ever since. The House of the People used to be very respected, and when is the last time have you heard the word ‘respect’ come from that place? And you won’t anytime soon. Is the word respect, even still in the dictionary?

      • Respect and CHARACTER are two words who have disappeared from conversation since Slick Willie held the White House. 🙁

  • clubgitmo

    Must be workplace violence.

  • c4pfan

WTH? I saw on twitter he had a valid access to the Navy Yard? How?

    • tinlizzieowner

Stolen ID. Wait a minute I retract that, real ID, that’s even worse. 🙁

  • standbesideherUSA

This is all the more reason that we ALL should be packin’!

”An armed society is a polite society.” Period.

    • MiketheMarine

Correct. Or if you or I are in the room. I make no beef with decking assholes who earn it in MY office.

  • tinlizzieowner

This guy was thrown out of the Navy ‘Reserve’, he never served a day outside the states, so let’s drop the ‘military angle’. He has a history of gun violence, (so much for ‘background checks’), He should have already been in prison. He’s just another ‘Gangsta Punk’ and that’s all he is.
This is the kind of thing that happens when you farm out the security of military installations to ‘civil servants’.

    • DawgfaninFL

And yet they (MSM) keep feeding on his 9/11 PTSD. Are they trying to victimize the murderer?!?

Now Frankenstein is back at it again on the gun issue! She is truly a broken record (oops-dating myself) a scratched cd. 🙂

      • keyesforpres

They jump on this gun control garbage before the bodies are even cold….it’s making me think they are orchestrating these shootings.

        • DawgfaninFL

Have to admit, Keyes that I had the same thought, though it shames me to think that way about our own.

Whoa, still getting used to Disqus.
          :-/

        • tinlizzieowner

Is it just me or does it seem like there is more of this going on since Obama became President? Or is it that the media is just ‘milking it’ more to promote gun control.

          • Betsey_Ross

I was thinking the same thing. They all must be American hating citizens. The crime makes no sense until the terrorism thought enters your head. Then you have figured it out. If one of those folks in the atrium or even the upper floors had been armed it would have been a different story.

      • They’re playing the PTSD angle so that people will start thinking veterans with PTSD are all potential mass shooters.

        • tinlizzieowner

Bingo! This Punk was a ‘Veteran’ of ‘boot camp’ and from the sound of things, he flunked that.

          • MiketheMarine

LOL, sailor school is better described as summer camp than boot camp. LOL

            • tinlizzieowner

This friggin story is all over the place? First they were saying this guy was a CPO (E-8) now, I’m hearing he was busted from E-3 to E-2?
Of course this is what happens when you have a 24 hour news cycle and reporters falling all over each other to get their name on a by-line. 🙁

        • DawgfaninFL

I should have known better. There is always an agenda! If there is not a crisis, might as well create one.

      • When you start going on about someone needing to crank on the ol’ Victrola we’ll really know you’re old.

        • tinlizzieowner

Hey, wait a minute. I’ve got one of those and 78rpm records to go with it. Including this one.

          • MiketheMarine

I have boxes of 45’s looking for an old working jukebox.

            • tinlizzieowner

Can’t help ya there ‘Bro’ but I’ll keep my eyes open. 😉

        • DawgfaninFL

          Lol!! 🙂

  • tinlizzieowner

So let me get this straight. A Sailor raised in NY who flew a desk for a living in Texas and has never seen a day in combat, is claiming PTSD because he saw 9/11? If that’s the case, It’s a good thing he never shot up a movie theater (yet), huh.
Wonder what the next excuse for his documented violent behavior in the past will be. 😉 😉

  • MiketheMarine

Good ol’ affirmative action. What a brilliant idea that was.
