BREAKING: Ajit Pai is Trump’s new FCC Chairman

This is fantastic news. Trump has picked Ajit Pai, an opponent of Net Neutrality, as the new FCC Chairman:

And he accepts!

Just last month, Pai said Net Neutrality’s days were numbered:

“On the day that the Title II [net neutrality] Order was adopted, I said that ‘I don’t know whether this plan will be vacated by a court, reversed by Congress, or overturned by a future Commission. But I do believe that its days are numbered,'” Pai said. “Today, I am more confident than ever that this prediction will come true. And I’m hopeful that beginning next year, our general regulatory approach will be a more sober one that is guided by evidence, sound economic analysis, and a good dose of humility.”

Back in February of 2015, Ajit Pai took a risk and exposed the Net Neutrality plan that Obama had hidden from the public, calling it a “monumental shift toward government control of the Internet.”

I expect now that he’s running the FCC, that Net Neutrality’s days are truly numbered.
