The Hill is reporting that Ben Carson will not be working in the Trump administration:
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson declined an offer to serve as President-elect Donald Trump’s secretary of Health and Human Services, a Carson ally told Circa on Tuesday.
Carson’s business manager and close friend Armstrong Williams told the outlet that Carson won’t join the incoming Trump administration.
Wow. That’s surprising.
I just assumed the way Carson decided to endorse Trump that he was an opportunist looking for a job in the Trump administration.
Maybe his conscience finally got to him?
UPDATE: Here’s more from The Hill:
“Dr. Carson was never offered a specific position, but everything was open to him,” Williams told The Hill in a phone call.
“Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience, he’s never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency.”
Wait, didn’t this guy run to be president?
