We are still waiting for a press conference from @CHP_GoldenGate to provide more information. @CBSSF
From ABC News:
Four people are dead after a man wearing body armor and armed with a rifle stormed into a Napa County veterans home Friday morning, sources confirm.
The day-long hostage situation, which started around 10:30 a.m. at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville ended Friday evening with the gunman killing three female hostages. The suspect is also dead.
Law enforcement from the Napa County, the California Highway Patrol and FBI surrounded the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, which is the largest veterans’ residence community in the United States, for more than eight hours.
Just horrible.
We had a long post about the developments in the hostage situation on social media here.
Pray for the families of the victims, who are receiving the worst possible news tonight.
UPDATE:
A police officer told reporters that the victims were all female and the gunman was male. They didn’t say what kind of gun he used. They did not say whether the victims were chosen randomly or not.
