BREAKING: Dallas Cowboys waive goodbye to Michael Sam

Well, I guess Jerry Jones is a homophobe after all:

SB NATION – Michael Sam is no longer with the Dallas Cowboys. The team waived him from their practice on Tuesday, Oct. 21, according to their official web site. The Cowboys will replace him with linebacker Troy Davis.

Dallas signed Sam to their eight-man practice squad prior to the season, on September 3. Sam, the first openly gay player in the NFL, was originally drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Sam has yet to see action in a regular season game since joining the Cowboys practice squad. He spent training camp and the preseason with the Rams, finishing an impressive run of exhibition play with three sacks in four games.
