BREAKING: Rep. Tim Scott picked to replace Sen. Jim DeMint by Gov. Haley

Great news! Rep. Tim Scott has been picked by Governor Nikki Haley to replace Jim DeMint in the Senate, starting in January:

There were reports that Haley was going to pick another Republican for the replacement despite widespread encouragement to pick Scott, so this comes as a welcome surprise.
