Officials confirmed there has been a shooting at a high school in Maryland, and there may be possible casualties.

St. Mary’s County Public Schools confirmed there has been a shooting at Great Mills High School in Great Mills, Maryland, south of Washington, D.C. In a statement, the district said the event has been “contained.”

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff tweeted, “there has been an incident at Great Mills High School. Parents please DO NOT respond to the school.”

A Twitter user who says they are in Great Mills says the school is in lockdown at “there’s already someone possibly dead. Please pray for us.”
