Williams says it’s a big deal that the high court canceled the hearing on its own instead of waiting on briefs from both sides to determine if the prior travel ban is moot. He notes that it could mean several of the justices themselves believe it to be moot at this point, or it could mean that they want to send the new order to the lower courts first.
