Police say the death toll is expected to rise after the incident at the Var Krog Och Bar pub.
An eyewitness said that two people armed with Kalashnikov rifles had stormed the premises during a football match screening.
Eight people were reported injured during the shooting and were taken to a local hospital.
One person lay dead outside the entrance of the restaurant with a blanket over them, a reporter at the scene said.
The shooting comes amid reports of three cars being burned in the area earlier today.
A Swedish police spokeswoman said that the crime appeared to be gang-related.
A woman who lives nearby told Aftonbladet: “I just came down to see that they have locked down the entire square.
“It is the gangs that are doing these sort of things around here.
