Breitbart DENIED Capitol Hill press credentials

Looks like Breitbart isn’t getting Capitol Hill press credentials just yet, as they have been denied credentials for now pending an investigation as to whether Steve Bannon has completely severed ties with them or not:

NY POST – Breitbart News’ request for Capitol Hill press credentials was denied until “more answers” can be provided on whether top White House adviser Steve Bannon has severed ties with the conservative website, according to a report on Monday.

The Standing Committee of the Senate Press Gallery put the request on hold, citing the need for “more answers,” the Daily Beast reported.

Larry Solov, president and CEO of Breitbart, sent a letter seeking permanent press credentials that confirmed that Bannon resigned from the news site in November 2016.

Solov went on to write that Bannon, who helped run the Trump presidential campaign, “has no editorial, executive, financial or other role or interest” in Breitbart.

But a committee member said other than “us trusting Larry,” there was no proof that Bannon had cut all ties, the Daily Beast reported.

Board members also wanted to clarify any role conservative donor and President Trump supporter Rebekah Mercer reportedly has in making editorial decisions.

I can understand the reservations about Bannon still having say over Breitbart News.

But honestly, given the state of biased media in DC, what’s one more biased media outlet getting access to the Capitol? It would almost be hypocritical for them not to let Breitbart in with the likes of the NY Times and the Washington Post there.
