Once again Bret Baier steps up to the plate and holds this administration’s feet to the fire over their dishonest arguments about getting a budget passed in Congress. Carney seeks to blame Republicans, but Baier won’t let him get away with it, citing both that Obama’s budget was voted on in the House (and unanimously failed) AND that the Senate won’t even put it up for a vote. Carney dodges, but Baier continues to grill him, noting the Senate has the 51 votes needed to pass it. After 3 minutes, Baier finally decides they need to move on to another point.

Gold.

You know I’m a Christian man. I’m a deacon at my church. My friends, family and clients look up to me, but I swear I have had so much of this nonsense I’m about to just go off on some of this BS. I am going to be using some language befit of a drunk Irish sailor who ran out of booze on a boat out in the middle of the sea.

    • Constance

Oh dear. When this country is going so far down the tubes that a deacon and decent man reaches the point of language suited to an Irish sailor feeling the pangs of withdrawal in the middle of nowhere… that’s either a very good thing, or a very bad thing! I’ll go with it being a very good thing. I’d far rather have someone like you on our side giving ‘em hell than standing with the idiots!

    • 12grace

Even Jesus had righteous indignation, g.

    • aZjimbo

      I understand your frustration.

Lmao, pathetic, of course the Obama regime would call the senate not passing a budget in 1070 days is playing gimmicks with the numbers. If any administration knows how to play with numbers and gimmicks it’s Obama.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

Senate Democrats are scared to death of tying anything to their name and Obama, they are in fear they will get booted out of office like what happened with Obamacare. Do-nothing Democrats.

    • bobemakk

Obama is gaining in the polls and it scares the hell out of me.

      • rick0857

Don’t believe it! Most polls are taken by libs anyway.

  • PVG

    Balanced way= Raise Taxes PERIOD!

  • http://twitter.com/nickmarschel straw man

Senate Dems won’t pass a budget because they know it will have to be combined with whatever the House comes up with. That means all the precious spending items they passed in Obamacare would be vulnerable. The Senate has effectively denied the 2010 election results for the last two years by using this tactic.

  • WordsFailMe

I know it doesn’t sound politically correct, but as far as I can see, the gloves are off with black issues and Black leaders. Now more free passes! NO more excuses Act like a grown man or go to your room!

  • Guest1776rcp

LMAO! Carney looks like he’s going to start crying at any moment all through out that.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

it hurts when your getting nailed to the wall.

  • Coralchristie

Carney says that they need Republican support for a “balanced proposal” on the budget…but why didn’t they feel that way about Obamacare? Guess hypocrisy is the only way to approach any issue for these idiot politicians.

  • http://www.facebook.com/kingofthehokies Jim Land

Well I suppose when there really is no way out, you have to dodge the question like he was trying to do.

  • sybilll

I am so glad I am fundamentally wired like my TRS friends here. I can guarantee you I can go find this video over at DU, and the title will be “Jay Carney handed Bret Baier his a$$”. I just cannot think, on any level, like the liberals do. Never.

    • Constance

No kidding. I can’t count the amount of times I have stared into the eyes of a liberal who was spewing all sorts of absolute gibberish, and I wondered how that person made it through each day without serious injury. They argue in circles, spin faster than my washer, and know nothing of actual history. It’s like trying to argue with a toddler. “No!” “Mine!” “I know you are, but what am I?”

Ugh. I’d rather have dental surgery without anesthesia than listen to a liberal.

  • johnos2112

Jay the HOUSE AND SENATE rejected the presidents budget proposal. DEMOCRATS included!

    • 3seven77

What? Acknowledge facts? Are you kidding? :)

  • johnos2112

Double down on policies that got us into this mess to begin with? Someone explain to me how a balanced budget, providing LONG TERM incentives to small business to hire and cutting spending is radical? Folks these idiots in DC need to be held accountable. Get rid of people with a (D) next to their name. This is beyond insanity!

  • MontanaAnnie

Real journalism can be a beautiful thing. It just doesn’t happen enough so we’d ever notice. Nice try, Bret Baier.

  • Nukeman60

The truth is that the reason, the only reason, the Senate doesn’t put forth a budget is because it will be completely shredded just like the Dems try to do with the Republican budgets. The Dems budget would be so full of excessive spending that they would be lynched on the spot. No budget is a safe budget.

On this idea though, I don’t understand why Reid has so much power. A bill can pass with bipartisan support in the House, and a bipartisan group in the Senate might want it, but if ONE man (Reid) decides that it won’t come up for a vote, then it doesn’t come up for a vote.

What is wrong with this system anyway? Who sets this stuff up like this? Why even have a House and a Senate at all if one man is going to control the flow of work?

    • toongoon

      I think that’s the idea.

You will never see him on that show again –

    Bret muderized him!

  • Sober_Thinking

Jay Carney – mouthpiece for the left. Puppet. Tool. Loser. Liar.

    • Constance

      I sure miss Tony Snow.

  • Spartan4Palin

It’s like watching the male version of Debbie Wasserman Shultz!

Both are pathetic, and both have to carry on with scripted talking points!

  • 3seven77

Opie is not a good representative for Erkel. ‘Course Erkel is a poor excuse for a President, so I guess Opie’s the only one willing to represent him.

  • http://www.facebook.com/treyh007 Trey Huffman

Wow isn’t it hilarious watching liberals skwerm in their seats, especially over a simply question like this! I’m so sick of this administration! Jay Carney looks like he’s been taking debating lessons from Obama……

    • p m

Agree – he’s mastering the sada$$’s art of smirking while keeping that chin up in the air. Idiot.

  • forgetyoutoo

I’ll say it for you Jay. The senate can’t produce a budget before the election because the democrats will be on record proving they have no freaking clue how they can continue the train wreck without making cuts to their precious entitlements.

  • 12grace

Great Job by Bret Baier. Bravo!

Carney is yet another “useful idiot du jour”.

  • http://www.thechristianmessage.org/ Pastor emeritus Nathan Bickel

One of Obama’s chief propagandists, appears as if he is gasping for air. I suppose that’s what happens when he he takes a slight break from being up Obama’s rear almost 24/7.

  • Maxsteele

Jay Carney and Debbie Wasserman Shultz are clones with different genders. They both have that sniveling way of talking to people that question them like anyone that asks them a tough question or points out when they are wrong are beneath them. Yet, in my experience these psuedo intellectuals that always raise their voice and act outraged are just doing that to hide their extreme insecurities about their own well known inadequacies.

    • ConnieConservative

Yes, I have a liberal friend who does just that ( raises her voice).
Also she looks shocked and offended. Then does a mock shiver.
Quite a performance. I never spend time alone with her any more.
I also turn off any tv show where the Libs shout over the others.
      Life is too short.

  • shagstar

i believe young jay-jay was peeing himself again!! lmao!!

  • NYGino

Looking into my crystal ball. Half hour after this exchange. Jay to bartender, “make it a double and keep them coming”

  • aZjimbo

    Dumbo speaks again: hello jay.

  • Radical Rabbi

I wonder who shaves Jay “Baghdad Bob” Carney every morning. No one could lie as he does and look himself in the mirror every morning and not cut his own throat. I thought Gibbs was bad but this guy has him beat.
Well at least his name fits, Carney. Actually it doesn’t fit; he gives all carnies a bad name.

  • kong1967

It’s the Republicans’ fault? I seem to recall 2 votes on budgets that Obama has proposed (correct me if I’m wrong)….

The Senate shot down the first one 97 – 0.

Congress shot down the second one 414 – 0.

ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO.

Carney, you’re a freaking moron. Trying to convince the American people that it’s the Republicans that are blocking Obama’s budget. Truth is, Obama’s budget proposals are so bad that not a single Democrat will vote for them, either. Every Republican could have voted for Obama’s budget in the Senate and it STILL would have been defeated by your own party, Carney!! Can you spell moron? I’ll help you with the two spellings….

    Obama and Carney.

  • MortimusMaximus

He couldn’t spin his way out of that one. Leave it to Beaver got Jay Carney all kinds of frustrated

  • NCHokie02

“I know this is what you want to make this about…” What? He’s asking a legitimate question?? Why doesn’t BO talk to Harry Reid about getting a budget on floor for vote in the Senate?? Why?

To quote Irish Steve from Braveheart, “Father says stop trying to change the subject and just answer the f#*king question!”

    • seabrightgirl

Almost spit out my coffee laughing at that quote from Braveheart! But really this is ridiculous. The Senate run by the dems don’t propose some kind of budget in over 1,070 days!!! And the regime continues the drumbeat that it is all the Republicans fault! Yikes when will the GOP step up and fight back? Show this interview and the one with Axlerod last week over and over again!!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1784115493 William Vaccaro

When all else fails, just regurgitate the same same old, “balanced approach” talking points. The problem is, if you visit liberal threads, they repeat the same garbage.

  • NYGino

Isn’t anybody paying attention? House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer(D-Md.) himself told us we really don’t need a budget. So relax, we’re in good hands.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tammy-Hardin/100001367461779 Tammy Hardin

Love the sarcasm….dems never get it…:)

      • NYGino

        Sarcasm? Moi?

      • NYGino

Tammy, welcome to TRS. Look forward to hearing from you.

Don’t count on Shockey though, he’s a locker room disruption, take it from a NYG fan.

  • brendawatkins

Couldn’t give a legitimate answer to the question.. it’s STILL the republicans fault.

  • bobemakk

Kudos to Brett Baier, I saw the interview, it was great.

  • rick0857

Sorry Jaybird your dumba** arguement doesn’t work anymore. There are only 47 republican senators, you only need 51 votes to pass a budget. So why hasn’t Harry and your boys passed one? Why didn’t they do it when they had 60 democrat senators? I’ll tell you why, because the dems don’t want the American people to know how the dems want to spend OUR money.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/VZNT6AG2AMSJF7WEFP3TCDHZVE Evan

This is unbelievable. I think Bret was too soft. I think Jay Carney was about to break. That would have been fun to see. Carney actually having to give a coherent answer. Surprise, Surprise.
