California passes law mandating gay history in K-12 curriculum

Yesterday, California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill into law mandating that “gay history” be included in the public school curriculum from grades K-12. Yes, you read that right: Grades K-12. This is surely a harbinger of things to come in other states, as California is such a large market for school textbooks that it tends to set the tone for the rest of the country.

What would a lesson plan look like for, say, the kindergarden level? Forget it, I don’t even want to know. I’m cringing just thinking about it.

Homeschooling never sounded so appealing.

One has to assume that gay icons like Harry Hay would be prominently featured in any new curriculum on gay history. Wouldn’t you think? And isn’t that just lovely. Watch this “Hannity” segment from October 2009, then imagine your child sitting in the classroom being conditioned to view Hay’s “alternate lifestyle” as perfectly normal and even liberating.

I guess any one who has a problem with it is just an intolerant homophobe, or something.
