Chaffetz grills ATF Special Agent on gunwalking

Trying to get honest and consistent answers out ATF Special Agent William Newell is difficult at best, but Chaffetz goes after him lock, stock, and barrel with his own admissions on the fact that he was not only aware of the gunwalking, but wrote in a memo that it was intentional at the time.

Now he denies it:

    Busted.

Gee, he is just as brilliant as his stupid idea; does not know the difference between goal and action. My goal is to have a Porsche by purchasing the less expensive Ford.

Just because my hand is in the cookie jar, and I have a cookie in my hand, it doesn’t mean my hand is in the cookie jar or that I have a cookie in my hand.
    Don’t believe your eyes….
These guys are nothing less then professional, payed by tax payers…. LIARS!

That depends on what the meaning of “is”, is.

Chaffetz is great. The ATF agent is obviously hiding something…

You can see this agent is stonewalling. What a disgrace.

What a disgrace is right. I cant believe we pay these assholes to purposely allow cartels to buy guns that will kill innocents. These guys should be put in prison.

How is it we can do a simple Bing search of the Zetas drug cartel and within minutes get an organizational breakdown, a long list of members and their crimes but BATFE has to further arm them, lie about it to congress and threaten agents with demotion for not wanting to participate in this operation.

    • Persephone

Because…under the Obama regime, the BATFE has become a part of his Thugocracy.

They are more worried about preserving their pensions, than about preserving our freedoms.

        Quite right sir!

  • Too bad his ass cant be slammed into jail for being a liar. If this were a court of law he would be. He should be ashamed of himself.

Just remember this is an ATF “Special” agent. Meaning he rose up through the ranks to a supervisory role in the ATF to protect and serve the American public. These are some of the types of people in positions of leadership in police, FBI and other forces. They are completely and utterly political and corrupt. Thankfully not all of them are like this but quite a few are.

I see a transfer to the Nome field office in his near future.

    Wow!

This just makes me sick, I don’t know what else to say.
    SICK SICK SICK!

Let me see if I can follow this. It wasn’t the “intent” of the program for guns to walk into Mexico. But, even after knowing guns were crossing the border and falling into the hands of murderous drug gangs, nothing was done to stop it because it was such a success.

So what was the intent of the program? They weren’t following the guns or putting tracking devices on them. So were they expecting gang members to mail the guns back to them so they could use the return address to find them? This doesn’t make any sense at all unless their real intent was to cause mass murder in Mexico with US guns. Then they could use the crisis in Mexico as an excuse to clamp down on guns here. “Never let a crisis go to waste” even if you have to manufacture it first.

Smells like perjury! PU it stinks. Didn’t that used to be a punishable offense in the context of a congressional hearing? Or does this guy get a pass due to his belief in Clownward and Peeving’s philosophy? DOJ should be investigating this, but won’t, it’s up to it’s eyeballs in this crime.

The charge is “Lying to Congress” (ironic) they threatened Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds with it.

      • Anonymous

Threatened but didn’t charge formally, yeah. But this special agent works for us, supposedly, doesn’t he?

        • KenInMontana

          Ultimately, supposedly.

Typical liberal response, only pay attention to our spoken intent, don’t pay any attention to the catastrophic results or our total and complete incompetence. Please pray for this administration that the Lord would move upon them to do something good for this country for a change(even if by accident).

  • Here IS the “the “intent” of the program for guns to walk into Mexico”,…

American Government Complicit in Smuggling Weapons Used to Kill Border Patrol Agent Confirmed:

    OPERATION “GUNRUNNER” FAST &FURIOUS

Our treasonous rulers have DELIBERATELY allowed American guns to be smuggled into Mexico, so that Obama can USE their presence there to UNDERMINE the Second Amendment.

Voted, there may be more to it than that. I’m beginning to wonder if the administration is angling for an all out war on our southern border. Everything they’re doing is pointing to a build-up to a war, (read history), only it seems that they are intending for us to lose.
