Cheney: Sarah Palin wasn’t ready to be president in 2008

Dick Cheney weighed in today on the VP process and said the number one consideration of a VP pick is that they are ready to be president, something he feels was not the case in 2008 when McCain chose Sarah Palin as his VP (h/t: Hotair):

I really like Dick Cheney and respect his opinion, especially considering the fact that he’s been in the Oval office and knows what it’s about. But I just don’t know that I fully agree with his opinion. Sure, Palin had only governed for 2 years when she was picked but what she had done as governor during those 2 years was more than what most governors do in 4 years. In fact, I wonder what Cheney would say about Gov. Scott Walker if Romney were to pick him as his VP. Would he say the same about Walker since he has only been governor for a couple of years as well. Would he say he doesn’t pass muster for a good VP pick? Because I’d hardly agree with that assessment either.

The truth is that Sarah Palin was more qualified to be president than John McCain and I think she’d make a helluva president now or in the future.
