Chris Matthews blames ‘CRAZY’ Evangelicals’ ‘MYTHICAL beliefs’ for decision on Jerusalem

Chris Matthews, who often shows a lot of animosity against Christians, insulted Evangelicals with their “crazy ideas about Israel, which is, I dunno, mythical.”

Watch below:

OK so… here’s the thing. He’s right, right? Not about the “mythical” part, that’s just insulting. But we ALL KNOW that many Evangelicals support Israel because of their reading of the Bible. It’s hard to quantify how much support is due to this, but it’d be silly to say it doesn’t exist. That’s what Matthews is identifying here.

However, he does so with such clear disdain he’s almost spitting as he talks about it – I wonder if he would ever, ever call a similar Muslim belief “mythical” or “crazy” even when they’re 100% opposite to liberal values. Somehow, I doubt it.

ALSO, his reasoning falls short when you consider that Trump had been promising this for more than a year, way back in the primaries. Now *maybe* you could argue that the timing is being made to influence Alabama election, but that’s kind of a stretch.
