UPDATE: I should note that in context Matthews was referring to prosecution…asking does the motive really matter for prosecution. To which I would respond…HATE CRIMES! Of course it matters if we are going to use the same logic in creating hate crimes. And it matters for a myriad of other reasons as well. I’ve corrected my commentary below:
Matthews never seemed to flinch when trying to diagnose why the Tea Party came into existence….say it with me together: RACISM! But now that the terrorists are Muslim, Chris finds himself wondering if their motive really matters with respect to prosecution:
