Christian youth groups STRANDED on Haiti as lethal RIOTING continues…

Several youth church groups are stranded on the island of Haiti where rioting is choking the streets after the government increased gas prices by 38%.

Here’s a look at the rioting:

More from Fox News:

As the violent protests in Haiti over fuel prices continued, youth groups from multiple U.S. churches have remained in the Caribbean nation, unable to get to the airport to travel home.

The nonprofit My Life Speaks said the mission teams from Woodland Community Church in Bradenton, Fla., and the Glade Church in Mount Juliet, Tenn., have stayed in Haiti, unable to get to the airport due to protests and roadblocks.

Ironically, the rioting is continuing despite the government capitulating and lowering gas prices in response.

They are asking for prayers:

Mike Wilson, the founder of My Life Speaks, told WFLA-TV that the team attempted to avoid the protests by leaving for the airport early Saturday morning. However, as the mission team continued to get stopped by roadblocks, the leaders decided it would be safer to return to their compound in Neply.

“We ask that you continue to pray for us, the Haitian people who are hurting and those innocent people caught in the middle of this moment,” My Life Speaks said on Facebook.

The embassy is telling Americans to take shelter:

The U.S. Embassy in Haiti issued a notice that U.S. citizens should not leave their hotels or homes until further notice because of ongoing roadblocks and violence in response to a government-ordered fuel price hike.

“Do not travel to the airport unless you confirmed your flight is departing,” the State Department warned. “Flights are cancelled today and the airport has limited food and water available. Telecommunications services, including Internet and phone lines, have been affected throughout Haiti. It may be difficult to reach people through normal communication methods.”

Let’s pray the youth groups get out safely and the rioting stops. As if Haiti doesn’t have enough problems…
