**[UPDATED]** Chuck Todd: When is the Obama campaign going to stop talking about the debate?

***UPDATE: Sesame Street requests ad taken down***

Chuck Todd says that the Obama campaign can’t seem to turn the page from the last debate, as they have just come out with another ad featuring Big Bird. Todd says it seems to him that continual discussion of the debate helps Romney since he won it handily.

Here’s Chuck:

Here’s the Big Bird ad:

UPDATE: According to the Hill, Sesame Street is asking the Obama campaign to take their Big Bird ad down:

Sesame Street has asked the Obama campaign to remove an ad featuring Big Bird.

“Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns,” a Tuesday statement on Sesameworkshop.org reads. “We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down.”

  • PhillyCon

Scoop, thanks for posting this. Great laugh.

Chuck Todd is so concerned. You’d think he wants Obama to win./

    • CalCoolidge

That’s why he’s coaching them. (You stop talking about the debate and so will we “reporters.”)

  • It’s pretty much over when a presidential campaign begins relying on an Appeal to Muppetry.

    • las1

      Frankly… it’s stunningly stupid.

      • WI4Walker

        Downright immature.

        • Rightstuff1

I say – air the ad. You betcha. Its quite amusing actually and shows the desperation of the man-child and his team that they need to pull this stuff out of their worn and tired brains. I think the word clueless comes to mind.

    • Joe

      again and again and again!

    • sjmom

Read on Drudge Obama is going to interview with Nickelodeon.

      • ChicksLoveRight

He always does better when the audience has an IQ somewhat equal (in this case of kids, little bit higher) than his own!

      • NO time for Israel, but he’ll meet with “The View” and Nick… What a piece of work he truly is!

        • Orangeone

Maybe he needs some tips from the Nick spokesperson on crafting disgusting comments to women.

    • Orangeone

But but but but the Obamabots. Maybe they are really speaking Sesame street-lingo

      • Romney knows a lot about Wall Street and building, running and growing a successful business.

NObama knows a little about Sesame Street and Community Organizing.

Romney should run an ad about that to counter this big bird nonsense.

    • smmy33

F u Chuck Todd.. If Romney lost we wouldn’t need the campaign to talk about it, the media would incessantly , Morning Shows to Nightly News and late night comedy would be joking for weeks.

  • anneinarkansas

On election night, I may have to take a sneak peak at MSNBC (would have to look in the tv guide for the channel) just to watch the meltdown of these Obama lovers!
Chris Matthews may totally lose it!

    • Matthews never seems to get ill from his tantrums. I always thought those kinds of outbursts would make a normal person sick. Maybe that’s why they call him, “have another drink Matthews”.

    • las1

They know what’s coming. They are tied to the tracks and they see that big honking beam of light rounding the bend. And they can’t do anything except have an apoplectic fit. No prep, no advice, no practice debates with John Kerry… nothing will save their messiah… nothing!

This is when they get desperate. We just have to be prepared and ready for what they throw our way.

    • Nukeman60

I think MSNBC is on cable channel 666. I could be wrong, though. 🙂

      • anneinarkansas

        LOL LOL LOL!!!!

    • sjmom

You’ll have to tell me because I won’t turn the TV to that channel. Sometimes my husband does to see what they’re saying and I walk out of the room.

      • Wouldn’t blame you. it’s like going to Joseph Goebbels for his take on the Nazi Regime. I understand your husband doing “opposition research” though. I never watch that excuse for a news outlet myself. I think when Scoop posts segments, it more then doubles any viewing figures that they may have had.

      • ebola131

        Can’t watch…
Mommy says propergander is bad and has blocked those channels.
But I wanted to see the gooses and demonrats.

    • Orangeone

Remember, the MSM has decided not to do exit polls in certain states to make it appear O’Bambi is winning.

      • Ha! Even when they rig the poll and make selective polls, they STILL can’t hide the fact that Romney is Romping and Obama is we… Just isn’t. 🙂

        I feel a landslide coming on! 🙂

  • las1

    Is that ad a joke?

America! Is that an ad for your President?

Are Americans expected to laugh? To cry?

Obama puts out an ad like that! Rome burns.

    • Orangeone

Maybe he now has laser-like focus on Big Bird instead of jobs, jobs, and jobs.

  • maynardb50

And next week, the dems will be talking about Paul Ryan besting Joe the Biden. I still think Palin won against Biden in 08.

    • sjmom

      She did.

  • denbren52

Let them keep talking! It was the worst debate performance ever!! Keep reminding the American people that this president is unable to function without a teleprompter, even for 15 minutes in front of a 4th grade class.

  • las1

Oh my gosh! They can’t seem to turn the page there… eh Chuck?

Can’t stop talking about the debate now… can they Chuck?

Chuck, you missed your calling. Axelrod’s job is up for grabs… go get it boy!

  • Rocco11

Obama’s trying to play the victim..

    • iaintlyin

Not only play the victim but he is appearing more and more frequently not wearing a tie. Could that be a subtle message of him also showing his anti christian feelings, is he becoming more brazen in showing his disdain for Christian and American values? Check out barnhardt.biz, scroll down to her October 2 entry about neckties, recall 0’s recent appearances in public, many have been becoming tieless. Coincidence?

      • Wow, very interesting read, I had no idea. thanks for that info/link.

After reading the article, I yahoo searched “where’s my dinner jacket”, the Iran head Kook and in the many many pictures, not one is he wearing a necktie.

        (Links to Yahoo images)

  • Ryan Mobley

    In other words:

    “Mr President,

You are sabotaging our efforts to defend and advance your re-election efforts. Please allow us to do our jobs without interference from you.”

    Your loving servants,

  • HARP2

Time for big bird to leave the government nest.

    • Orangeone

Release Big Bird from his chains!

  • Chuck Todd to answer your question, when will the obama campaign stop talking about the debate, that’s easy; when @ell freezes over. The obama freeze will happen on November 6.2012.

  • Arrrggghhh

Which one would I rather that my kids didn’t have?

    1. A $51,379 share of the national debt

    2. Big Bird

Hmmm? I bet he tastes just like chicken.

    • PhillyCon

This how you frame it when a low info voter starts parroting this crap.

    • Might be a bit rubbery! 😉

      • Orangeone

Yes please let’s ensure Big Bird wears his rubber jacket so he can’t reproduce….

  • cute ad!

  • Michelle Malkin has a *great* article on this here:

In reality, of course, PBS affiliates have become increasingly corporatized. As GOP Sen. Jim DeMint noted last year, franchises like Sesame Street “are multimillion-dollar enterprises capable of thriving in the private market. According to the 990 tax form all nonprofits are required to file, Sesame Workshop President and CEO Gary Knell received $956,513 — nearly a million dollars — in compensation in 2008. And, from 2003 to 2006, ‘Sesame Street’ made more than $211 million from toy and consumer product sales.”

    • Nukeman60

Hey, we subsidize them. Where’s my profit share?

      • And mine!? Time to Occupy Sesame Street?! LOL!

      • I can’t remember where I saw it but someone said “They should be paying taxes, not receiving them”. Big Bird is richer than Romney and makes more money annually. Word is that he hasn’t paid any taxes in over a decade.

        • Nukeman60

Word is that he hasn’t paid any taxes in over a decade.‘ – da

Ahhh, another (in)famous quote from Harry (don’t look at my taxes) Reid. 🙂

          • Orangeone

Maybe Reid was confusing Romney with Big Bird. Perhaps Marco Rubio can ask him.

        • sjmom

Not only taxes but he is one of the few chickens who have escaped Perdue’s farm. He should be grateful he still has his head when so many others have ended up on our tables.

        • Orangeone

          You saw it on Breitbart.

  • MrMicawber

It’s ridiculous but I have to admit it was pretty funny…lol

Dems so lack a sense of humor it’s refreshing to see this.

  • Nukeman60

In the words of Barack Obama: “Jim, I…you may want to move onto another topic.”

Today’s program was brought to you by the letters MSNBC and the number zero – and people like you.

  • joyfulgiver

the ad rises to the level of competency in this administration, not much!

  • As many of you know, I’m a huge soccer fan. The debate was the equivalent of this score:

    Team Nobama: 0
    Team Romney: 6

My point is, when your team gets absolutely trashed and humiliated in a game, continuilly talking about it is the LAST thing you want to.

Looking forward to the next match…

Biden 0 – Ryan 13 – 7 of which will be Biden own goals! LOL!

    • PhillyCon

I think its Sun Tzu, (paraphrasing) when an opponent is digging a ditch for himself, you get out of the way.

      • Shovel ready job? 😉

(Stands WAY back out of the way)

        • PhillyCon

Thats a good one, Wolfie! Laughter is indeed the best medicine.

          • It’s either laugh or explode! It’s been rough, but come Nov 6th, we’ll have the last laugh!

    • sjmom

I’m going to disagree; Ryan 35, Biden 3. Don’t expect Biden to score any TD’s but maybe a field goal; maybe.

    • Orangeone

Pix flashing through my head of Biden kicking the ball backwards….LOL

      • Biden scores an own-goal and hearing the cheering, thinks he’s done a good thing! LOL!

        • Orangeone

You are on a roll today 🙂

  • PhillyCon

This is just too hilarious for words! First AARP is “non partisan” and now PBS. Who is next Planned Parenthood?

    LOL, LOL, LOL!! 🙂

    • Nukeman60

Biden may come out tomorrow to state that he is an independent contractor and not really associated with the Obama campaign. 🙂

      • PhillyCon

Maybe, the entire Democrat party will declare itself “non partisan” at this rate.

        • ChicksLoveRight

Actually some of my democrat friends, who are more traditional democrats than liberals are sounding like non-partisan, specially after the debate! They may sit out the election!(My hunch is they are voting for Romney, but saving face by saying they don’t trust Obama anymore!)

  • las1

    One more point here.

Obama is still the most powerful man in America. Obama did in less than one hour what years of alternative media could not do. And what he did was an achievement worthy of a guest spot at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

All of the right bloggers, all of the right aggregator sites, all of the conservative pundits at FOX, all of the blog commentators… all of these conservative voices never managed to move and advance their message as effectively as Obama did for them in his debate with Romney.

In less than an hour, Obama moved an entire nation and the entire Mainstream Media Complex to finally admit the unspeakable. What is the unspeakable? Obama is a vacuous and lazy and hollow caricature of a leader.

    • ColoradoTim

I believe that Romney was already ahead in the polls before the debate. His performance solidified those numbers. That is why the left should be really worried… Every day Romney locks up more and more of the electorate, and they ain’t going to swing back to Obama.

Obama needs to get his base out even more, and dig up some additional dead votes. Don’t count him out yet, he dug up $180 million in illegal cash recently. Digging up a few bodies is not out of the question.

      • BlueGood

IMHO “O’Bama bin Lyin” was exposed for all the world to see him as he always has been….A CHILD in a MAN’S BODY………..

We’re witnessing post-debate that CHILD & his minions, having a “Collective” temper tantrum!

Americans have witnessed a clear choice…Vote for a CHILD or Vote for an ADULT!

  • Sober_Thinking

If you keep picking at it, it’ll get infected.

They suffered a stunning defeat at that debate and frankly, they’re scared because it exposed Obama for the fraud that he is.

It helps us if they keep talking about it.

  • The best part of this story is that this is the second rejection Obama has had this week… first MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell yesterday and now Sesame Street today. Who’s up for rejecting him tomorrow?

    • Rshill7

Third if you count the Princeton professor that did the study on Romney’s tax plan 🙂

I’l reject him today and tomorrow. My entire extended family will reject him on the 6th.

  • las1

It just keeps getting worse, now doesn’t it?

Even Big Bird won’t vote for Obama.

You just can’t make this stuff up.

    • sjmom

      This list keeps growing.

  • the oaf in Chief can NOW read from teleprompter somebody else’s rebutting comments!!!
    How kleverrrrrrrrr!
    Liberalism is a mental disease.

  • marketcomp

Yea! The truth hurts when its in your face!

  • williamm

Here’s the Big Bird that should be run.

    • Hahahahaha! Love it! :-)))

    • sjmom

      Very cute!

    • Orangeone

williamm you owe me for that one, pulled my stitches laughing so hard! But it was worth it.

  • iaintlyin

The commercial is obviously aimed toward stay at home moms who rely on Big Bird as a proxy babysitter. The sad thing, it will garner some votes especially if its run on pbs during Sesame St.. Ad should be easy to counter though, expose pbs and its progressive agenda links.

    • Orangeone

PBS aired an O’Bambi ad in the middle of the night saying he is a great guy, he can still be trusted, etc. I threw up.

  • Wow, team Obama, it takes a lot to get Big Bird angry at you! He’ll come and peck your eyes out if you keep this up. We have a dead ambassador and three other dead Americans, Iran is about to get a nuclear bomb, our economy is in the toilet, and our national debt is about to overwhelm us, and the best these people can come up with is Big Bird? Now I KNOW Romney is going to win.

  • sjmom

I heard someone say on TV yesterday (can’t remember who) that Obama “disdains” Romney. The arrogance of this attitude could well be what defeats him. The campaign cannot believe that such a lesser human could ever triumph over their candidate. It will be interesting to watch what they do when Romney/Ryan win 4 weeks from today. Then again, I will be too busy celebrating to see it firsthand so RS will have to keep me informed. 🙂

  • WordsFailMe

Hey, Axelprod, Take the Big Bird ad down and give the bird to Obama.

    • ebola131

Andrewa Mitchell….spawn of Elmo and Cookie Monster
Couldn’t find her ass with both hands and a flashlight in a dark room.
Wife of the “smahtest fed chairman evah”; Elaine Greenspurt….you know, of the “what bubble?, not to worry, everything is Ok fame.

    • Orangeone

PBS is panicking that there will be an independent investigation into their nonprofit status. And yes, there needs to be and all funding needs to be suspended until the investigation is completed.

  • Susitna

The Obama campaign has no other choice at the moment but to talk about the debate. I mean, they don’t really want to talk about gas prices, Lybia, Fast and Furious, The White House Leaks, the campaign donations scandal or Obama’s Birth Certificate. I can imagine that they might have some regrets for killing Osama bin Laden too soon as it would have been way better before election day.
When it comes to the Big Bird ad, I am sure it was Biden’s idea. It has his intellectual signature.

    • Orangeone

Romney having massive military voter support

      • Susitna

Good bless you guys and many thanks for the info.

  • The ad clearly says, I’m Barack Obama and I approve of this message. I hope you folks are proud of your President. Cause I sure ain’t.
    What a disgrace.

  • joyfulgiver

Way to go Big Bird! More American business should heed this advice. There are a lot of businesses I know that are suffering at their own expense because they have aligned themselves with various political agendas, of which the majority of Americans do not approve of.

  • JohnBarry2012

For once I agree with Chuck Toad, the Obama campaign is in disarray after the debate.

  • Orangeone

Attention IRS, Sesame’ Street is a nonprofit organization? WTH is your definition of nonprofit? He is part of the 1% and earns more than Romney but doesn’t pay taxes. Time to strip away the nonprofit status and gov’t funding.

  • teri_b

Romney campaign needs to respond to the stupid ad by saying he is going to end too big to fail. Even Big Bird is “too big to fail.”

America hates the idea of too big to fail.

  • BeyondPolls

So…who wants to bet OFA won’t pull the ad?

  • Clevername1234

Mitt is being nice. If Obama had his way Big Bird would be on a serving plate at the White House for Thanksgiving.

  • ConnieConservative

Very funny. It was fun to see Big Bird snoring in his nest.
Haven’t seen that in years. Silly and fun. But I’m voting-
    Romney / Ryan 2012

  • kong1967

They’re in defense mode. They are trying to twist the debate into changing people’s minds about it. Stop the NPR funding while your’e at it, Romney.

  • Isn’t copyright infringement a crime? Just sayin’.

  • Isn’t copyright infrngement a crime? Just sayin’.

  • E. Lee Zimmerman

Nonsense, Chuck. Let’s KEEP talking about the debate. I kinda/sorta liked the way it went, and I’d rather give the Odministration ample opportunity to dig a deeper hole politically now that the winds of REAL CHANGE are sweeping across this great land of ours.

Meh. Big Bird’s still a Commie zealot. He just didn’t want the rest of America to known he was a Commie zealot.

  • RestlessLegs

Keep talking about it! It’s positively demoralizing Dems. On my way to work this morning, I saw yet another homeowner who has taken down his Obama/Biden yard sign. I posted here last week how another guy had taken down his Obama yard sign the morning after the debate and put it in his garage. The halo above The One’s head is fading rapidly. His supporters are starting to feel embarrassed about supporting him! (I live in Illinois, by the way.)

  • How embarrassing….use Big Bird which is utterly pathetic and has nothing to do with the millions hurting!! And then Sesame Street tells Obama to KNOCK IT OFF!! Well talking about a GIGANTIC EGG LAYING!! How embarrassing and childish….rebuffed by a Million Dollar Bird!

  • steprock

Sesame Street ad taken down. Same thing with the AARP.

Memo to Team Obama: some things are out of bounds. Kids, nonpartisan groups, etc.

  • drphibes

I’d really love to chuck Todd.

It’s telling when a devoted apparatchik is complaining about O’s lameness.

  • drphibes

They can’t stop talking about the debate because O is a thin-skinned, petulant little man. A TINY little man. A man-child, in fact.

  • stage9

During the next debate if Obama brings up Big Bird, I’d quote him by saying:

“I’d like to answer that by quoting you”:

“If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run away from. You make a big election about small things.”

  • A_Truism
