CNN: Hagel to propose military reduction that would SHRINK Army to pre-WWII levels

CNN is reporting this morning that Defense Secy. Chuck Hagel will propose cuts to the Army so deep that it will take the Army back to pre-WWII levels. This includes cuts to personnel, weapons, aircraft, etc. The argument is that with current technology we don’t need as big of an Army as we’ve had in the past. While I’m sure there is some truth to that argument, I fear it’s being used to cut the Army down to sizes that would only make a president who hates America pretty happy.

Watch:

As I was about to wrap up this post, Fox News had on Retired Gen. Jack Keane who confirmed my suspicions and said the cuts were way too deep, calling them ‘irresponsible’, and that the US is simply repeating a mistake we’ve made in the past when it comes to military spending cuts. He said this will also affect the ability of the Army to prosecute wars as it has in the past, quickly and with low casualty count, and said it’s very concerning for our own national security.

As a side note, did you notice how CNN was quick to spin this report in a positive way? From everything Keane said there isn’t anything positive about this at all.
