To understand this you really have to watch the first 10 minutes. At first Baldwin lets Republican Matt Caldwell say his peace about why Republicans voted down an assault weapons ban in the legislature yesterday, 71-34. But once he was done and they started going back and forth, you could see how hostile Baldwin was getting over the fact that Caldwell refused to concede that an assault weapons ban would be effective.
She gets snippy with him a couple of times, even telling him at one point to “Stop going back to the talking points, sir!”
It’s very clear where her loyalties lie on this issue. Very clear.

Here’s more from Mediaite:
To open what would shortly become a contentious discussion, Caldwell explained his vote — saying he viewed it as a ban on “nearly all guns.”
“So this is your interpretation,” Baldwin said. “Okay.”
“It’s not an interpretation,” Caldwell replied. “It’s very obvious. And I encourage anybody to pull it up.” (The full text can be found here, but the first line explicitly reads, “An act relating to assault weapons and large-capacity
3 magazines.”)Later in the discussion, Baldwin noted that the Florida House declared pornography to be a public health risk. She asked Caldwell, “Why is pornography worthy of a debate [in the Florida House] and not semiautomatic weapons?”
The lawmaker responded, “Trying to pull a bill out of committee is a political stunt.”
And Baldwin called out the legislator for what she deemed a non-answer.
“Stop going back to the talking points, sir,” Baldwin said. “Stop!”
Regarding the ‘definition’ that the Republican cited with regard to the guns the bill would ban, look at the first few pages where they start listing all the guns this bill would ban. I can see why the Republican lawmaker suggested it was more than just assault weapons. It includes carbines that use regular magazines and a lot more. It starts at page 2.
Regarding it being a stunt, I’m quite sure he’s right about that. And Brooke is playing right along with the stunt too, giving Calwell a hell of a time because they voted down this crappy bill.
