CNN’s Erin Burnett tries to trip Tim Scott up over voting for McConnell as majority leader

Tim Scott is about as down to earth as you can get for a US Senator. CNN’s Erin Burnett asked him what he thought his historic victory last night, being the first black man elected to both the House and the Senate. Scott really didn’t think of it that way, rather reflecting on the fact that his 94-year-old grandfather, who picked cotton as a child, was still alive and there last night to watch him give his acceptance speech. He said that was one of the most remarkable experiences of his life.

At the end of the interview Burnett asked Scott whether he would vote for McConnell next week. Scott basically said no one else is running, so yes. Burnett tried to put words in his mouth, only to have Scott correct her and restate his position.
