    Thank God its friday.

    Yes I said it.

I know I wont get booed or voted NO here!!!

    :-) :-) :-)

    • p m

      But..but..isn’t that racist, pol? :)

      Sorry – couldn’t resist.

    • Nukeman60

      Amen to that.

      • poljunkie

        Amen to your Amen NM

        • DebbyX

And Amen to BOTH you Amens!

          • Rshill7

Hey wait a second! You can’t do that! OK, I guess you can. Dagnabbit.

            • poljunkie

              Gosh I luv this place.

  • Army_Pilot1967

There it was…clear evidence that the Dims are the party of inclusion, acceptance and tolerance!!!! Wow, I sure am glad I’m not one of those losers!!!! They’re all hypocrites in my book.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

They don’t judge tea baggers, rednecks, Bible-toters, evil corporate types…nooooooo! They’re not judgmental at all!

      • Army_Pilot1967

LOL…….nope, liberals are perfect human beings! But I’m glad I’m not one!

      • Fidelia Mathewson

Hello? This skit was done as irony – tongue in cheek. The responses were all scripted, just as the show did the previous week at the RNC.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1599631298 Carmela Minaya

    Hilarious!

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

I thought the dim bulb who said he was using the term “Nazi” to describe

  • http://navalwarfare.blogspot.com/ Libertyship46

I saw this the other day and thought it was great. Just shows that liberals tolerate anything except people who disagree with them. Didn’t know the Democratic party was filled with so many bigots.

    • PhillyCon

Yes. Tolerance=agreeing with my liberal/statist belief system, otherwise you are a racist, bigot, anti-women etc. That’s pretty much the Dem platform.

      • kong1967

That is so true, but by definition that makes them bigots.

    • maynardb50

I can not believe you did not know they are filled with bigots! That is their true platform! And always has been.

    • kong1967

The amazing thing is that they call us bigots. Hmmm, I don’t believe anyone on our side wants to shut down internet sites labeled as hate speech. It’s not our side that has plastered our culture with political correctness because certain things offend us. No one on our side said we should send liberals to education camps to get us to fall in line with our views.

They are bigots through and through.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Yes. If you don’t think like them, walk like them, and talk like them; you are a bigot. They’re so righteous, good, and great that their feces doesn’t emit a foul, repugnant odor.

        • kong1967

Yep. They might want to look up the definition for the word then look in the mirror.

  • PhillyCon

Since this is an open thread … did anyone catch the Jennifer Granholm speech?

    • MaxineCA

I tried, but couldn’t get through it. Talk about a meltdown! Another Dean moment for the D’s.

      • Rshill7

Jennifer Granholm. Former Governor of our “fair” state. She was the best Dean impersonator there. I’m not kidding. All she lacked was the Arrrrrgh. Had Charlie Brown been there to pinch hit for her…fuhgetaboutit.

        • p m

Heard it on Mark L – there was an aarrgghh amid the barking.

        • http://twitter.com/CharRenee0O Char Mathews

She was a terrible Governor and a embarrasement to Michigan Last Night

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

She was a responsible governor. Responsible for reducing Michigan to a shriveled mess of a state. I’m sure she is proud of that.

    • kong1967

      I didn’t watch any of the Marxist…errr, I mean Democrat….speeches. What happened?

      • PhillyCon

I heard it was very “Dean” like … kind of melt down. But, I don’t think anything could ever top Howard Dean’s “arrrrgh” moment.

        • kong1967

Ah. I’m tempted to watch it for laughs, but I don’t know if I could stand the headache.

    • sybilll

      Here ya go Philly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKux363Dg64
This is very out of character for her. She honestly seemed “altered”.

      • Nukeman60

The funniest part of that speech about how Barack Obama ‘saved’ the auto industry was the woman cheerfully waving the banner with ‘Ford’ plastered on it. One wonders if she realizes that Ford refused the bailout and survived on their own, in spite of Obama.

        • Rshill7

Oh yeah, there were a bunch of those people. Webster and I define them as dumbasses. Of course when I speak of Webster, I mean the little kid on the TV show.

Hey Webster, if you’re out there. Sue me!

        • RosiesSeeingRed

Too funny Nukeman60. Just incredibly unbelievable. But then again, they HAVE to be clueless if they’re voting for Obama, right? That goes without saying?

          • NYGino

            Elementary my dear Rosie.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

So according to the embarrassment that is ex-Governor Jennifer Granholm, they asked Bain Capital to assist them and they refused? Was this before or after Romney worked for them? What’s more, why did they refuse?

    • poljunkie

Ha ha, yes I saw it on ACE. wow.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Hey polsis, I’ve got a shopping site for you to check. She’s the sister of a good friend of mine- he just told us about it on facebook. Seems right up your ally, and you might find something cool :-D
        http://www.etsy.com/shop/WheelerSalvage?ref=si_shop

        • poljunkie

          Did someone say shopping? :-)

I will let you know what I think….buy!

        • poljunkie

At first glance: Patterns! woot woot. Wow such memories. I know Ive mentioned my dads 5 &10. He had a HUGE pattern “dept”. Thank you AB’s for another trip down memory lane.
I also love the fringe that you and I both would have loved to put on our bell bottoms in the 70’s.

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I did see that fringe and think of you ;-) Yeah, to think the stuff we once wore is considered vitage lol. But cool stuff there! Glad you liked it!

    • 4Hoppes2

      I would rather vomit.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

I wonder. How long did it take for Granholm to get to the convention, traveling from the planet Irrelevant?

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Yay! I’m an anti science ignorant narrow minded wack job!

I take all these names as a badge of honor if it’s because I love Christ!

    • Army_Pilot1967

      Amen, Christ is the answer!

    • nibblesyble

      So true..me too!

    • Rshill7

      You’re a shameless like-magnet, you know that?

I liked it too. I’ll probably get buried in all those other likes though.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

You made me lol mybear. :-D I may be shameless, but I still notice you don’t I! Hope everything is OK with you now that the godless pathetic DNC show is over.

        • Rshill7

          :-D

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Be proud of who you are! I know I’m proud to be a dumb, uneducated, gun-toting, Bible-thumping, Christian. Amen and Hallelujah!

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

        YEEEEEEE HAWWWWWW!!! :-D

  • p m

Too funny. That last bit was hysterical.

Was the guy with the beard the same one on the Schiff video? That time his T-shirt said ‘EDUCATOR’. No wonder kids don’t know their history (or maths, or english, or…)

  • Nukeman60

This last 24 hours has been the most I’ve ever watched The Daily Show. Tell me it’s them who are changing, and not me. I fear I’ve woken up on the wrong side of the looking glass.

    • unclesamnephew

      ditto cuz!

    • Rshill7

Listen Alice, stop talking like that. It’s a trick, a wicked dream.

Nuke those thoughts and stay awake. Distrust, but verify. Laughing is always acceptable if well placed.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I’m sorry mybear- but you saying Listen Alice, just cracked me right up. My 12 year old boy has been saying that to me lol! He watches too much My Three Sons!

        • Rshill7

Turn him onto some “Little Rascals”. Those guys are…rascals!

          Dear Darla…

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

He likes that show to lol!

  • ernst1776

Intolerance is just another word for intolerant.

  • RosiesSeeingRed

I think I’ve shared this here before, but a few years ago I had a heated political argument with a liberal friend of mine over something, and she was spewing some nonsense at me, and I asked her where she was getting her information from, and she said in the most condescending manner possible “I guess you don’t watch Jon Stewart” to which I replied, “No, I don’t get my news from a comedian, but I see you do, and that tells me everything I need to know.” And that was the end of that argument.

    • NYGino

Did she even know he was a comedian?

      • RosiesSeeingRed

Good question! I THINK so, but you know how liberals glaze over when you try to talk complex issues or hard-to-understand things like NUMBERS? I just think it’s easier for their simple brains to get their news from comedians, if you ask me!

        • toongoon

          Yeah right.
Jon Stewart, The Schultz twins, Stephanie Miller, and that other dude, whats his name…Rachel Madheifer or something?

I have found that you have to start out slow with liberals, speak with simple words, agree with them that everything is Bush’s fault and obama is going to fix all of his screw ups. Pretty soon they will start agreeing with everything you say, then start adding truth about obama. If you can keep them agreeing with you without realizing it for an hour and a half you will have a conversion. But flashing lights and quick movements will distract them and you have to start all over again. So be careful.

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

            Toon, you’re on a roll tonight! :-D

          • NYGino

I guess it’s worth the effort but after all that do they, after a while, revert to moronism?

          • Rshill7

            Yay! Nice.

          • SierraBear

That would be “Raging Madcow.” You know like Smellin’ DeGenitals and Do-me Moore. If you are going to take the time to mock let’s be sure to do it correctly. ;-)

            • toongoon

LOL! I like Smellin’ DeGenitals and Do-me Moore. Very good. I’ll be more careful next time.

    • sybilll

Hell, I’ve seen countless liberals that think HBO’s Newsroom is a bonafide news program. I’m not kidding.

      • RosiesSeeingRed

You know, maybe my friend DOESN’T realize it’s a comedy act. It never even occurred to me until NYGino asked, but you know what? It’s not out of the question, and it would explain how so many people could still be voting for Obama when the numbers are telling us he’s a complete failure at every possible level.

      • http://boogieforward.us/ K-Bob

And re-runs of The West Wing are scenes from the actual Martin Sheen Administration.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

        LOL! Registered Democrats, no less.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Bill Maher was a comedian at one time. He is now a soulless, hateful, petty little man. However, he is a reliable source of information, as seen through the prism of a mind-numbed, zombie-like lefty.

    They are really crazy

I hope all realized that there was more trouble and nonsense THIS week than LAST week

    They are all nutjobs

Does anyone know about this .45 Cal “double tap” – “derringer”

    http://heizerfirearms.com/

Yes – It is a .45 plus two in the grip

    • conservative58

Looks like a sweet little carry!

Guess I’m just another one of those hillbilly rednecks who believes in the right to bear arms!
      :-)

    • unclesamnephew

cousin joe, i have been dreaming of this from months

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

        Hi Cousin! How are you?

        • unclesamnephew

cousin duck, thanks for asking. for myself doing good. my wife has been slapped up by “obama-care” local city has gone from two hospitals to one. she now works for competitor hospital, which we thank God. just this last week, she received notice from her primary care doc, that the doc will closing down her solo practice. the doctor cited the red tape and the cost to comply as two of several reasons.

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Oh man, that’s too bad cousin. This is going to just ruin so many folks. :-(

    • 4Hoppes2

Joe, that is real nice, but, this is what those folks need to loosen up a little. Caution a little coarse language but some fine, elegant dining.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMyPD1VKk60

    • KenInMontana

As to the “Double Tap”, I haven’t shot one, although I got to handle one at a recent gun show. Personally, if I were going to go for a smallish .45 ACP, I’d go for the Kahr CW45, better firearm, 6+1 capacity, its cheaper than the Aluminum model and it won’t set you on fire when you shoot it.
      http://www.kahr.com/Pistols/Kahr-CW45.asp

  • NYGino

Now THAT was hysterical. They are defining themselves and they don’t know it.

    • kong1967

Yeah, it’s like that guy that was cursing the camera saying we are anti-gay, but he added on that he’s not a “fa**ot fu**er”. They don’t even believe what they say.

  • DebbyX

    They’re out there people

    Be afraid

    Be very afraid!

    • Betsey_Ross

In the past 4 years I have been horrified to find out how deeply politically correct some of our Dem friends are. But even more horrifying to discover that they are extremely prejudiced against anyone that is different from them in ideology. To add to that, they are solidly racist, too. We’ve had to get new friends.

      • DebbyX

We’ve lost and found some friends ourselves!

  • MaxineCA

Here’s something that many of you might be interested in doing. Hillsdale College now has Constitution 201 available on line (it’s free). I watched the first one today and found it very interesting.

“The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and the Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism”

Here’s the link which provides the details. If you scroll down it goes into more detail about each section of the course. (It just might give you some great talking points when trying to educate your brain dead liberal friends.)

    https://constitution.hillsdale.edu/201/Constitution-ENH002-101

Hey, don’t take my word for it, Mark Levin has been promoting this. He loves Hillsdale.

    • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

YES!! I signed up a couple of weeks ago. I still have to get through the first course first though- but I’m all set when I can do it! :-D

      • MaxineCA

Although I completed 101, it’s really not needed to do 201. You can always go back and catch up on 101 as that relates more to our history. I would HIGHLY recommend you jump right into 201 as it deals with the Progressive movement and explains WHY it is so opposite of our Constitutional government.

It is so appropriate to what is going on today! I think everyone will really like the lecture. There’s only one 40 min lecture posted right now. The next one will be available Monday.

        • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

I’ll check it out as soon as I can Maxine. Thanks for letting me know. I’m not the brightest bulb in the socket when it comes to real college material, but I am finding 101 fascinating and I love it when I can do it. Right now, back to homeschool, and a few other things, I miss not having larger chunks of time to really pay attention. I do need to get back into it.

    • 4Hoppes2

We also watched it last night, looks to be better than Constitution 101.

      • MaxineCA

I agree it’s much better than 101. I can’t wait for the next one to get posted next week.

  • NYGino

    Two quotes say it all.

“I’ve been calling them Nazis and evil even before it was appropriate actually”

“I would never call a redneck a name”

    • toongoon

That is too funny. I wonder what they would have said about African Americans had they been asked.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

What if you were a white person who was born and raised in South Africa and you immigrated to the United States? Would you be considered an African American? Hmmm.

  • CitizenHill

The platitudes regurgitated by the Demoncrats say it all!

  • theyjustcantstop

thee most informative video clips of who’s in charge of the democrat party, everyone save this for future viewing, this is unscriped, natural fellings of american democrats.
this is what the liberal american-press hide on a daily basis.

  • kong1967

These here peeple are so ignert. How’s that for redneck? Excuse me while I go check my yard. Someone is breaking into my car that’s sitting on four cinder blocks.

    • Nukeman60

Is that the car that doesn’t have doors? Should have locked it up better wif yur zip ties.

      • kong1967

Tanks, but I dun runned out. The local barnyard din’t have any.

        • toongoon

Well gee Kong, farmers can buy stuff at the grocery store too silly.

          • kong1967

            Oh…dats right. Doh!!

            • NYGino

…and at some dem you can actly buy etnol wit a lit bit a gas in it.

              Whoo..we

              • kong1967

Lol. You’re impersonation of a redneck is pretty darn good.

    • toongoon

You should have turned it in when the bamster was offering cash for clunkers. You could have a brand new Volt on those cinder blocks. I hear the Volt is real good for roasting marshmallows, just don’t stand too close.

      • Nukeman60

Hey, they stopped making those Volts a while back. The last one off the assembly line was sent to Mars. Obama hoped to crash it on the surface just to get it out of sight and out of mind, but NASA fooled him and privately figured out a way to land it safely. It’s sitting alongside a roadway that we didn’t build awaiting a replacement battery.

        • kong1967

Ah, so that’s why they sent “Curiosity” to Mars. To grade a path for the Volt and potential customers to drive.

          • Nukeman60

Yep, we all know we can’t build any businesses on Mars until the government taxes us for the money to build the roads, then actually builds those roads, and then taxes us again on the businesses for the roads.

            • kong1967

Of course. Tax tax tax. The anwer to every problem.

        • NYGino

The holdup on the replacement battery is the cost. The regime is trying to not be too flagrant in their spending, at least not until the election is over.

        • unclesamnephew

the old edsel out performed and out sold gov’t motors volt. late june early july we folks out in boondocks did not have electric utilities for a week. a lot of good that junk would have been. the junk i speak of is the volt

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

If they’re waiting for an Ener1 battery, they could be waiting for quite a long time.

          http://heritageaction.com/2012/07/can-president-obama-name-one-clean-energy-success/

          • Nukeman60

Nice article. Thanks for the link.

An interesting point they made (besides more than 30 companies that have gone bankrupt) is how many of those 4.5 million jobs Obama claims to have created have been lost again, but still counted?

I’d like to compare the results of Bain Capital to those of Obama’s Green Energy loan program. Between jobs lost, funds thrown away and other jobs sent overseas by the Government’s program, Bain stands head and shoulders over them.

It’s amazing that Obama even has the gaul to mention Bain Capital.

            • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

No problem, Nukeman60. Your observation is a very good one. Just how many of those 4.5 million were created and then lost? I believe as you do in that they still counted those jobs, even though they didn’t last very long. I agree that they pale by comparison to Bain Capital. If they would have been in the same business as Bain, they would be out of business by now.

          • SierraBear

The new cutting edge green technology will allow us to power most everything from the magnanimous glow that emanates from Obama himself.

            • NYGino

The good part is you can hook up both AC and DC.

              • SierraBear

                TMI…let’s not even go there!

      • kong1967

Laugh my freaking arse off!! Marshmallows.

I can’t afford marshmallows. Didn’t want to crush my classic Pinto. LOL!!

        • NYGino

The Pinto, or as affectionately known, old shake and bake.

          • kong1967

            Lol.

          • poljunkie

            Pinto! Ha! Remember the Gremlin?

            • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

My son was pestering me to find a photo of a Gremlin online today. He saw Cars2 the movie (which in spite of the evil big oil propaganda is a really cute movie) and wants to know all about those old rust buckets lol. He about freaked when I told him my mom used to drive us around in a Pacer! :-D

              • NYGino

A Pacer? Really? You have class ABC, but I’ve known that for a long time. Anybody that can ride around in a fishbowl defines the word transparency.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Hahahaa!! I used to LOVE riding in the back of that thing! We’d go up north in the summer for a vacation, and I’d ride the whole way laying in the “way back” in amongst the luggage. It was great.

Back in the days when cars only had seat belts for the driver. How did we ever get along without belts! Thank goodness for the government stepping in, to issue choices of wearing a seatbelt or not.

                • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Ah, the good ole Bubble Car.

AMC did manufacture a kick a$$ Gremlin with a killer AMC 304 V8. I saw one at a car show, along with a Javelin 360. Schweeeet!

              • SierraBear

My first car was a Corvair with the floorbaords rusted out! Now try and top that one. Although, I was able to travel to work 15 miles one way all week for around $4.00 worth of gasoline.

                • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

LOL, why did I just get a vision of Fred Flinstone?! As for the gas prices, you can’t beat that!

                • SierraBear

You bet! Gas up at the local Sunoco station on 190 blend for $.23 cents a gallon. If you owned a “muscle car” you could get the 260 action as it was called for the exorbitant price of $.27 cents per gallon. As Archie and Edith used to sing, “Those were the days!”

                • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Ah, the good old days. We could see cheap gas again, if we would be allowed to extract, refine, and use (instead of sell to nations that are hostile to the U.S.) our own oil.

          • toongoon

I used to have a 1980 Pinto. Thank God I was never rear-ended, the The Volt was designed with Pinto pyrotechnics. WHHOOOOSHH.

One of the best autos I had was a 72 Ford Maverick (another known exploder); however, the fuel tank issue had been fixed and it was a 4 door that had a 302 Windsor under the hood. That thing flat rocketed out of the gate. Super fun car to drive for a high school kid at the time.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/T6DK36H6XXJJAY2ZRY6NCQMI2I Chris

Do you have a picture of one in an exploded view? :-P

      • Rshill7

Did you know that in the original version of “She’ll Be Comin’ Around the Mountain”, behind her was a Chevy Volt being drawn by those very white horses?

In fact, when Teddy Roosevelt charged up San Juan Hill, each horse was dragging a Volt while the “drivers” of said Volts were messin’ with the radio? They were the real Rough Riders. I’m not kiddin’.

        • NYGino

          For sure??

          • Rshill7

            Yep.

              Wow.

        • toongoon

You know Rshill7, that reminds me of an old Little House on the Prairie episode where Charles and his buddy took a job moving explosives to railroad blasting sites. They had to go real slow to avoid it blowing up. But I don’t remember Charles playing with radio.

          • Rshill7

Believe me. Once Charles shorted it out with prairie tears.

I love that show. People should grab a box of tissues and get downright dehydrated watching that. I’ve seen every episode thrice :-)

Me wifey poo is a Little House junkie with every season in her collection. I’ve seen them all at least that many times meself.

that program caused a lot road worthy cars to destroyed. the program also caused a shortage of used “affordable” cars for people with budget woes. so instead of buying used road worthy, they have gone into debt for showroom new on cars that may not last the terms of payments

        • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

When that program came out, our son asked, “Hey dad, are you going to turn in your truck? It’s a clunker” We told him, it may look rough, but it’s paid for, and it runs and it’s one that Dad knows how to fix himself. The new models are made to break down every few thousand miles, and they’re built in a way that only those who work mechanics at the dealerships know how to fix ;-)
          His truck is still running.
          OH, And it’s a FORD!

My husband’s is an 89 F 150. The air works if you can handle the noise ;-) His window doesn’t work, but mine does. He has to park on an incline to back up- but hey, it’s still good for another 100,000 miles at least! OH! and the best part is, he only gets 1 radio station, a local one which plays Beck, Rush, Hannity and Levin YAY!!!

              • toongoon

Cept for the window, especially in that Florida heat, what more could you ask for. Nice truck. Wait, you mean there is no reverse?

He gets reverse sometimes. He’s tried fixing it a few times, had to wheedle some parts from a local Ford dealership (they’re mighty skittish about allowing folks to fix their own vehicles!) And had it working for a while, but then the part broke off and he’s not been able to get a new one. He even tried making one- and it worked for a couple of days ;-)

However, I have to say, the Chevy Volt would make a good planter. Just be sure to put it in the back yard.

  • 1mathteacher

I laughed the first time I watched it (yesterday) but watching it the second time, I’m not sure, for two reasons.

    1) It seems like a couple of the people are in on the joke – they’re just a little too ready with the punch line. And it’s hard for me to believe that someone with walking-around sense could contradict themselves so plainly. (“I would never call a redneck a name.”) It’s “too cute by half” if you know what I mean.

    2) I don’t trust Stewart to take the part of republicans over democrats. He likes to make fun of dems when they screw up, but this is different. He went looking for this.

Or maybe I’m just getting cynical in my middle age. :)

    • RosiesSeeingRed

I thought the same thing when I watched it. At the very least, they were coached.

    • NYGino

1mathteacher, Pi, oh I’m sorry…Hi. As far as your concern #1, remember what the great P.T.Barnum said…”You’ll never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public” and as for your second concern, maybe the MSM is starting to see the writing on the wall and are positioning themselves in survival mode.

Anyway, as far as middle age goes, remember: Middle age is always fifteen years older than you are.

      • Rshill7

Oh c’mon! What if you’re 80? That would be pandering to all the folks who are 160. You disgust me :-)

        • NYGino

      • 1mathteacher

NYGino, yes, I’d love some pi, thank you! Oh…nevermind…hi! I know you’re right about the first, and I hope you’re right about the second.

As for middle age, you made me feel young again. :)

    • Nukeman60

You bring out a good point. Stewart is always in it for the ratings and the money. Common sense says that some of these people, as idiotic as they can be, can’t possibly be so stupid as to say “I would never call a redneck a name”. That’s just too convenient. Stewart may be having an internal laugh here.

I thought the schtick was funny, but I tend to be skeptical of the authenticity.

      • 1mathteacher

        Well said.

  • kong1967

Problem is, if you make your tent so big to include everyone…..that is, everyone that believes in big government and doesn’t carry a gun or a bible…..you really don’t stand for anything. The Democrat party is about appeasing everyone in their party with handouts. They have no standards, moral or otherwise.

TY for an Open Thread. I wanted to share the religious freedom, protecting the unborn benediction performed by Bishop Dolan (the one they did not want to come) last night. Love the message, and pay close attention to audience reaction:

    http://freebeacon.com/dolan-calls-for-religious-liberty-protection-of-unborn-at-dnc/

    • MaxineCA

I saw a report on this earlier that also said the MSM broke away and didn’t cover it, instead went to their talking heads. I’m sure Bishop Dolan knew he didn’t have to include protecting the unborn at the RNC because NO one at their convention stood on stage shilling about protecting abortions. Oh wait, I guess they have new code words for abortion now… “protecting women’s reproductive rights”. Geez, you don’t even need a decoder ring to figure that out.

Bless Bishop Dolan for speaking out to such an unfriendly crowd. I sure hope he can convince all Catholics that voted dear leader last time to wake up and vote for Romney this time.

      • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

They had broken ties with them back in the days of the US hostage crisis, and only recently had gone back. It’s also because of Canada’s leadership, which has been very liberal for a long time. Stephen Harper is the first real conservative leader Canada has had for a while, so this move doesn’t surprise me from him.

  • demographicallychallenged

This may help you understand how intelligent and educated the progressives are. The term Redneck came about when striking miners in West Virginia tried to organize and made demands through their Union Representatives. The owners locked them out and hired non union workers. The Union men went to break the mine workers lockout armed to fight. They identifie themtselves by wearing a red bandana around their necks, hence the term rednecks. If the Democrats only knew they were belittling the political brothers and sisters.

About the book by ‘Mark Owen’, No Easy Day, on the SEALs dispensing with OBL:

Pentagon spokesman George Little said Tuesday:
“When it comes to sensitive special operations missions, such as the operation that took down Osama bin Laden, it is important that those who are involved in such operations take care to protect sensitive and classified information,” he said.

Oh yeah? Tell that to the goons in the WH.

Hello? This skit was done as irony – tongue in cheek. The responses were all scripted, just as the show did the previous week at the RNC.

    • skspls

In actuality, the intolerance of the tolerant party is much worse.

  • I12BPhil

Let’s see if I can comment on this without the anticipated and expected Disqus censorship.

The left doesn’t practice ‘tolerance’. What the left practices is called ‘repressive tolerance’, which is a construct established by Herbert Marcuse, who was a German Jewish Philosopher and radical activist associated with the Frankfurt School of critical theory. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1934. His “intellectual concerns” were the “dehumanizing” effects of capitalism and modern technology and he spent a lot of time speaking at American universities pushing his views.

In 1965 he wrote a book called “A Critique of Pure Tolerance” in which he espoused that pure tolerance is wrong because it allows “oppressive” ideas to be allowed a voice, and instead what should be practiced by the left is “repressive tolerance”. The basis of the concept varies according to whom your conversing with, but the general idea is that tolerance of left wing ideas and speech should be allowed, but intolerance of anything deemed right wing should be enforced. This, according to the left, means that all left-wing ideals are good and anything that isn’t left wing is oppressive and evil …and should be vilified. Who gets to decide what is right wing? Only the left. This allows them to proclaim “tolerance” without seeing or feeling the hypocrisy. They feel vindicated because they are oppressing “evil” and “dissenting” ideas.

This is what modern liberals practice these days. It prohibits free speech and any and all free exchange of ideas and allows them to vilify and persecute anyone who does not conform to the party ideals. Another interesting point of this that comes to my mind is that intolerance and crushing of any dissenting voice is also a key ideal of fascism. Curious, isn’t it?

BTW, this is also the very foundation upon which “political correctness” is based. The phrase itself was essentially coined by Mao Zedong in his plagiarized “Little Red Book”. …”Not to have a correct political point of view is like having no soul…”. How do you gain a dictatorship over a society which promotes free speech? Get control of the speech. Control through unspoken rules that society enforces through social ostracism.

This is where we’re at people. Like it or not, the attempts to destroy western and European culture and have it rip itself apart as planned in the 1920’s and 30’s has been successful so far. The seed was planted and has taken root. Expect it to be more successful in the the days ahead.

“I would never call a redneck a name” has to be my favorite — followed by “teabagger generalize” <3 it!
