Dem. Congresswoman admits that a handgun ban is next

Jason Mattera managed to interview Dem. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky about the assault weapons ban and got her to admit that not only are the universal background checks a way of attacking gun ownership for all guns, but that she’s against handguns and they are next on the chopping block.

Keep dreaming commie. Your entire party is next on the chopping block.

    • las1

With that hasty P.S. you have outed yourself as a bona fide right wing extremist. : )

P.S1. It’s unofficial… the CPAC is dead and American conservatives are running north to Canada’s Manning Centre Conference in Ottawa. The MCC is the Canuck version of CPAC. Man! Talk about clean cut young people in suits. Definitely not hippies. Ron Paul spoke there this past week. I’m not sure if Bill Whittle spoke, but he was in Toronto and was interviewed by our Brian Lilley.

      Here’s the interview.
      Part 1

      Part 2

P.S.2 I know its Ron Paul, I agree with everything he says except the military, American Imperialism (shades of Noam Chomsky) and his colossal misunderstanding of Islam.

      • Yeah Canada is the home of conservatism or something LOL

        • las1

Are your tiny sensibilities challenged? I suppose that is your attempt at facetiousness… or something! Good luck with that. We’ll not hold our breaths for your more substantive well thought out follow-up.

If you had any clue of the nuance and the cultural and political forces ebbing and flowing on both sides of the border, you would see real bright spots where those bright spots occur. A survey out by Abacus Research in Canada does show Canadians, in wildly contradictory ways, are indeed willing to vote Conservative.

Like Canada, there are serious problems with American Conservatism, something which is discussed here all the time. We in Canada have exactly the same “RINO” problems as well… they are called CINO’s. So no Canadian is claiming it’s so great here. The same rot and progressiveness we have here is equal to that in America. But there are bright spots and real signs of conservative policy making its way into reality… like a corporate tax rate of 15%, or the Federal Government gutting the hate speech laws. (our Supreme Court is a whole different story however). We do have our own version of a spendthrift California… it’s called Ontario with a huge wildly unsustainable debt that makes California like pikers.

So no… the claim isn’t that Canada’s better, the claim is that for now America, under Obama, is going in the opposite direction of Canada… and that is NOT a good thing.

          • OneThinDime

Thank you las1! Your fellow Cannuck BlueGood, also responding here, pointed out a few days back, Conservatism knows no borders. We are all fighting to help each other, where it is the US, Canada, the UK, Wales, Australia, this is a worldwide struggle and woring together we shall all become stronger!

            • warpmine

Can Hudson Bay hold a few million liberals?

              • PatrickHenrysBody

They’d be right at home with all of the polar bears…much to the delight of the polar bears.

                • warpmine

                  Taste like chicken er seal?

                • PatrickHenrysBody

LOL. Maybe a little of both?

        • OneThinDime

Conservative Canadians have been successful in overturning their gun registry so YUP they are a home of conservatism, just like the US, the UK, Australia.

        • las1

As a follow up… Ontario will reach “Greece” status well before California.

          Population 38M Debt 143B

Population 17M Debt 247B (looks real bad for Ontario)

I’ve seen the California Debt Clock at 428B, and I’ve seen wildly differing figures for their debt… what figure is accurate? Does anyone know?

          • E. Lee Zimmerman

Hmm. Well, let’s just hope Canada sinks into the ocean before California, then, too.

            • las1

              Well Ontario anyway.

              • PatrickHenrysBody

But the Great Lakes are far too small for Ontario to sink into.

                • las1

If Toronto slips off into Lake Ontario pulling Queen’s Park (aka Ontario’s Parliament), with it, that would be sufficient… Problem solved : )

                • PatrickHenrysBody

LOL. May your hopes and dreams become reality, my friend. 🙂

        • PatrickHenrysBody

At least they are waking up to the gun-grabbing BS in their country. Our country seems to be going into a tailspin toward the hard, unforgiving ground of totalitarianism.

        • rick0857

Contrary to what you’re saying Canada has been rapidly changing it’s political views for quite some time. But they still need to get a legislative body up thee to give the people back the right to firearms of all sorts ESPECIALLY HAND GUNS

      • BlueGood

Las…someone told me you were in Ontario, if so we must connect as we have initiated a “Parliamentary Petition”, sponsored by a Conservative MP to amend the Firearms Act….

Essentially to remove yet another strand of “Bright Red Razor Wire” form the necks of 7 Million Canadian Shooter/hunters and the industries/jobs connected.

I have it in PDF and need to get it out all over!

        • las1

          Who’s the MP… couldn’t’ find anything in a search.

          • BlueGood

Search “Canadian Shooting Sports Association” look for press release

Just spoke to Tony, and he is pizzed, his web master has not got the release on the site yet!

MP is Cheryl Gallant, Riding of Renfrew~Nippissing~Pembroke!

      • BlueGood

Please Go that site below las1, the press release & Parliamentary Petition are now up & available for down load

        Thanx Bro!

        • las1

Thanks there BG… I’m not sure how a petition translates into a bill. MP Gallant may parlay it into a private member’s bill. That’s the only way it will enter the house. I’ll be sure to sign and get my son and his buds to follow suit. Thx.

Wanna hear a funny story there BG, a young friend of my son has a leftist University Prof. mom. He argues with her quite a bit esp. regarding the gun control freaks in the US. He’s got a real common sense conservative streak in him that conflicts with his girlfriend and the culture at large. He says it really ticks him off that people want government to do everything for them. He’s stuck at what to do when confronted by it. I advised him to inform himself more on conservative values and inform himself about what’s going on… and step by step inform those around him. I felt like a dad helping him face the rot in the culture.

          • BlueGood

“I’m not sure how a petition translates into a bill. MP Gallant may parlay it into a private member’s bill. “That’s the only way it will enter the house.” >WRONG

While you are NOT sure, we are, Believe me, we would not waste a month of preparation if WE weren’t sure to have it TABLED in the HOUSE OF COMMONS.

It is already REGISTERED with the CLERK in the HOUSE…..PLEASE do not sew negativity, do NOT voice your doubts, just get us SIGNATURES….when you have 25 signatures, , mail it directly to the Parliamentary Address on the Document…NO postage required….

            Fill another…repeat until November 2013…..PLEASE!!

            • las1

              Thanks for this BlueGood.

My unfamiliarity with the process was just that…unfamiliarity. Being negative would mean rejecting the idea, and I’m not rejecting it in any way whatsoever. I’m looking forward to a bit more information on the three points of the Act as stated in the petition. I’ve read the write up by Mr. Bernardo and it certainly jives with what I’ve heard of the dictatorial powers of the CFO’s. I only have an old 410 left by my dad (maybe that makes me a law breaker) It’s my son who’s the gun guy around here. I’ll get the petition out to him and his friends.

      • rick0857

Thanks for the link to the Bill Whittle rant I hadn’t seen that one.

        • las1

Yeah… I always like his stuff… but this rant particularly in the first part was pretty darn good.

  • notsofastthere

It is obvious the people we elect have no intention to defend or protect the constitution or the citizens. History of tyranny and rebellion has no meaning for them. Telling others how to live is their only ambition.

    • Betsey_Ross

It isa major problem because these mini-dictatos we have elected to office seem to get caught up in their own little fiefdoms where they are the head cheese. They seem to crave it and it is very difficult to tell who will and who won’t. Most assuredly the ones with D’s after their names are definitely subject to this. With R’s it is a little more difficult, but I think I am starting to get the hang of it.

We had a so-called grass roots guy running for state delegate in a neighboring district. We had two excellent candidates both touting the Constitution and lower taxes. My favorite lost in the primary, but went on to another party job where he is doing a great job. The winner went on to win the seat in the House of Delegates and proceeded to vote for the biggest tax hike in the state of VA a couple of weeks ago. When comparing the two, the guy that won was just a little too slick, a little too polished, and had a personality that was somewhat over powering to his opponent. Hmmmmm. Who to choose? Well, it turns out, not the flashy one.

      • notsofastthere

I think Karl Rove wants to elect the Flashy ones. We don’t need any more ‘actors’ in congress.

  • Army_Pilot1967

Dimocrat Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky just doesn’t get it. Disarming American citizens isn’t going to stop gun violence, it would stop honest and responsible citizens from protecting themselves and their families from punks and thugs. Yet she willing to do that because she has no clue about the 2nd Amendment, or what we the people want. Clueless in DC.

    • Patriot077

She is one of the most rabid marxists in the Dim party, so this position on the 2nd Amendment is not at all surprising. Taking our rights one bit at a time is how she likes it. I’m surprised Jason was able to get this interview at all 🙂

    • StrangernFiction

Schakowsky doesn’t get it like Hitler didn’t get it.

      • PatrickHenrysBody

…and we all know what happened to Hitler. If he wouldn’t have done himself in, a great many of his own people would have been more than happy to do it, since by that time they would have had much easier access to weaponry.

  • Philo Beddoe

    She’s a flaming leftist.

Her convict husband wrote obamacare in prison

    • PatrickHenrysBody

May I add “extreme”, “radical”, “fanatical”, and “insanely dedicated” to your “flaming” moniker?

  • Don

The latest liberal nut job to make a complete ass out of himself is Paul Krugman. Krugman is the economics guru from the New York Times who has constantly pushed for more and more Federal spending. He is now filing for bankruptcy. Seems the economic plan for the country was one he really had no clue about. Obama and his sychphants cut from the same mold. As one liberal after another exposes that liberalism is indeed a mental disorder, these gun control freaks like Jan Shakowsky will be exposed as perfect examples of that fact.

    • M_J_S

      “Guru”? This guy believes 2+2=obama.

Wisdom and knowledge are two different things and some liberals MAY be intelligent but those who are lack wisdom. The Federalist Papers had a great line “[human] experience is the oracle of truth”. Krugman things FAILED economic policies will work because he wants them to.

    • notsofastthere

Business Insider says the story (Krugman bankruptcy) was a spoof – better check Google on that for various stories. Just sayin

  • las1

At about the 1:38 mark she clearly says “I’m not against handguns”, but Jason’s captions say “I’m against handguns”. So there is a contradiction there.

But the full thrust of her other comments leave no doubt whatsoever that they are going after handguns.

There is only one other option for conservatives and real Americans. Destroy these people. You are at war and you must recognize it for what it is. After all, they are designating you as their number one enemy with the official designation of “right wing extremists” through their Democrat policy organ Centre for American Progress and SPLC, not to mention Media Matters. It’s time to call out the real extremists and make that label stick.

    • StrangernFiction

You, sir, are a wacko bird. 🙂

      • las1

        I think the word’s extremist. : )

        • OneThinDime

Wacko bird is what McAmnesty called Rand Paul and Ted Cruz after the filibuster, it’s his new slang for extremist

          • las1

Thanks there OTD, I only clued in after I finished my coffee. At least we now stand in good company with other RWWB (Right Wing Wacko Birds)

            • LOL! We should use that as a hashtag on twitter… #RWWB Infact I’m going to! 🙂

              • las1

                You RWWB you! : )

      • las1

It took me a bit to clue in after my coffee. I wear the title with honour. I’m growing my new plumage as we speak.

    • clockwindingdown

“There is only one other option for conservatives and real Americans. Destroy these people. You are at war and you must recognize it for what it is. After all, they are designating you as their number one enemy with the official designation of “right wing extremists” through their Democrat policy organs like the Centre for American Progress, the SPLC and not to mention Media Matters. It’s time to call out the real extremists and make that label stick. Goodness knows… it’s long overdue.”

They are at war with us, like it or not, recognize it or not. Like the war the “religion of peace” has on the rest of society. It is a real war so people better do battle or suffer, the enemy has chosen you as their enemy. There is no hiding, you will at some point be in their crosshairs, fight or die that is the choice.

The POTUS and his regime are the true extremist. We do need to label them as such, we need to make it stick to them. They know they are extremist, they called themselves extremist in their past, a look at their history shows it.

with little to gain from moderation, the extremists rule the day: fanatic, radical, zealot, fundamentalist, hard-liner, militant, activist; informal ultra.

  • I’ve never seen so many fools in Congress trying to actively push this country into yet another civil war. They really don’t understand where all of this is leading and it will not end well. Why do you think Congress wants everybody to register every gun? So that they will be easier to locate and confiscate once Congress bans them. Gun manufacturers already see the handwriting on the wall, which is why their protest is gaining steam with so many gun manufacturers. I wonder if the bulk of the American people are seeing the same thing they are?

    • WordsFailMe

They believe that the police and the military power will make us afraid to strike. They think that the males in this country have been successfully cowed and they are wrong. Not sure that a ‘Civil” war is what will occur. Unless Union members and democrats agree to both dress in purple t-shirts, conservative in red, the initial skirmishes will probably be based on race. Probably white liberals will stay on their homes.

      • OneThinDime

Probably white liberals will stay on their homes. But we know who they are and they are just as responsible for what occurs as those in DC. They are already backtracking but we have long memories….

        • WordsFailMe

Let’s meet on a train as strangers. I’ll bring MY list….

          • OneThinDime

            I’ll be there!

“They really don’t understand where all of this is leading and it will not end well”.

      Oh yes they do.

    • OneThinDime

      # of Firearms manufacturers rufusing to sell to gov’t triples in 2 weeks!

    • PatrickHenrysBody

They want civil unrest. If they do not, why all of this talk about using drones on Americans, 1.6 billion rounds being gobbled up by the feds, and the beefing up of the DHS, NSA, etc., etc.? Of course, I’m a right-wing wacko bird.

      This is amusing:

  • M_J_S

Hey Jan, COME AND GET IT!

  • Deviate Hunter

OMG. They ain’t taking MY GUNS! I strongly suggest that everyone here put on their tinfoil hats. The gubbermint could use some kind of mind control to trick us into giving our guns away.

    • M_J_S

No, what they will likely do is restrict ammunition production and sales…try making your own?? Good looking getting primers.

      That’s how they’ll do it.

      • Deviate Hunter

I can do one better! The gubbermint is going to restrict the cardboard boxes that bullets come in. No containers = no bullets = no guns = Obama appointing himself dictator for life.

  • Wigglesworth

Dems never stop “progressing”. It doesn’t matter if we are talking about tax hikes or gun control. They always want more. You have to draw the line somewhere and say enough.

  • Liberals who don’t like guns… Here’s a clue.. Don’t buy/own one! Then get a nice “gun free zone” yard sign for your home so everyone around knows how “liberal” you are.

Leave those of us who want to buy/own a gun for either protection or hunting or sports or all of the above the heck alone!!!

You don’t see us going around demanding that you all should be mandated to own a gun, so why the heck do you go around trying to take away ours?

The irony is that many of you Liberals have armed protection… So it’s ok for YOU to have guns or armed guards – because you’re that bit “more special” and the rest of us can just go whistle in the wind, right?

Another irony… If someone is trying to break into your home… The first thing you do is call the police… The armed police… To come and save you!!! You’re calling a good guy with a gun to save you from a bad guy with a gun and you are still too blind to see that it’s not the gun at all that’s the problem but who is holding it!

Is it any wonder Libtardism is a mental illness… What else could explain it???

    • white531

It is the way Liberalism works. They just keep chipping away at your freedoms, gaining an inch at a time. They will present the same plan for taking away your guns over and over again, a million times if necessary, and each time a few more people will cave. The Freedom that people claim The United States represents, is an illusion.

      • OneThinDime

If you ever go to the liberal sites, especially those pro-amnesty, they post that removal of the guns will occur so Mexico can rightly take over the US. Hummmm, Fast and Furious, outsourcing our jobs to Mexico, illegal EO for dreamers, demanding ICE ignore federal law, Mexico demanding a registry of US gun owners, furlough for border security and customs under sequester…..

    • las1

because you’re that bit “more special

It sure appears like that now doesn’t it!

      Excellent rant btw… awesome!

    • OneThinDime

You don’t see us going around demanding that you all should be mandated to own a gun, so why the heck do you go around trying to take away ours? Excellent! I would, however, like to demand mandatory sterilization for them so the deadly virus is eradicated in one generation.

    • You described exactly the difference between conservatives and progressives.

  • Sandra123456

    Another communist busy infringing.

  • Sober_Thinking

I’ve really had it up to here over these freaks. Seriously.

It is guarantee’d under our Constitution that we can own guns – with no distinction about what kind. So for these idiots to take our guns leaves Americans defenseless and it’s lawless – a violation of our laws. Guns aren’t the problem… it’s the infinitesimal number of whack jobs out there who are the problem. And these liberal morons want to take the guns instead of dealing with the minute number of unstable people who cause the crimes? As Obama and his cronies are making us lose our police because we can’t pay them, while releasing illegal alien criminals back into our society? Are you freaking kidding me?

I’m having a VERY hard time finding peace about this. These sick, imbeciles keep pushing this and we have a monster in the WH who is spear-heading this, a VP who offers asinine ways of dealing with the loss of our weapons and a decayiing society and jellysifh Republicans who have the power to stop this but capitulate instead…

No wonder there are rumblings of civil war if they keep pushing this. THANK GOD many gun manufacturers are cutting off the government from arms if they continue to persecute legal gun owners! THANK GOD for the NRA. THANK GOD for the freshmen who are Constitutionally-minded and who fight this sickness. THANK GOD.

  • 12grace

The American people must not capitulate to taking their guns away. They take the guns out and then they will take the American people, out.

These fools are always good for a laugh. What makes them think that any of their un-Constitutional acts of the legislature will be obeyed? My guns and my Liberty are not up for negotiation. Of course there will be Quislings that will bend the knee. However, enforcement could get a bit “sporty”. Bring it.

    • These guys don’t care about your liberty or rights, never have. If they did this would not ever be a topic of conversation. The last thing any Progressive wants is for you to realize or even remember that you have rights…they certainly don’t.

We can actually learn something from the left. They are going after our guns with a vengeance. We ought to go after their abortion practices with a major VENGEANCE. 55 million killed since Roe vs Wade. Talk about shedding blood. They are shedding it with a purpose. We just use guns for self protection. There isn’t even a comparison. Who the hell do they think they are?

  • Marridge

If blacks had had guns they would have never been enslaved.

  • Yazz55

Don’t dismiss this known politician so quickly. The obamessiah will likely be able to appoint a few more to the SupCrt.

With a majority on the SupCrt, any and every sort of gun control legislation will be ruled constitutional. And if they’re in a benevolent mood, they may even produce a “rationale” dismissing the 2nd amendment.

  • I thought I’d e-mail this to TRS, but it fits nicely here. They’re going to be coming for your guns if this is any evidence of how they are slowly encroaching on your rights and creating criminals out of people who simply assert their rights……all the while allowing the criminal element to run rampant in their own home turf.

It trusts common Americans with all kinds of weapons when it wants us to kill foreigners somewhere…usually for the financial benefits of some corporations and no leftist bitch is going to lay a finger on my absolute right to keep and bear arms. Seems the Washington elitists become nervous when the common law abiding citizens are armed. And, thanks to Obama, millions of Americans are armed to the teeth.

Stupid and dangerous things keep on spewing forth from Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky’s idiotic mouth. Lest we forget:

So now we know how she REALLY feels about the issue. Of course, she telegraphed her feelings here:

Gun “buy back” leads to gun confiscation and gun bans, period. Schakowsky, who is a truly vile “human” being, needs to be voted out of office. However, she won’t be voted out because she is from Illinois, where conservatives are outnumbered and where they continue to mostly vote leftists into office every election cycle.

Seems to me that every one of our Reprentatives , Vice-Presidents, Presidents, Supreme Court Justices, Et All are sworn in to “Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States.”  I cannot recall anywhere in their oath that it says “unles I have other ideas.”  YET someone, somewhere (thinking people on the government dole) keep casting ballots.  Can no one see that eventually when the governerment tit gives out that they are short on everything that will keep them alive?  Can’t believe that our voters (even when most should likely not be voting) that no one can see that once you kill the cow giving the milk that it is OVER.
