That’s just not a smart thing to do. I know that on the right it’s fashionable to say more and more extreme things against illegal aliens to prove how much you hate them, but I really think it should be beneath us. We can be against illegal immigration, as I am, while not having to demonize illegals. If we really want to make a difference and push the ball forward on this issue, we need to draw people to our side, and being so vitriolic doesn’t help.
But apart from the way he described illegals, his main point is still relevant – it’s the complete breakdown in trust of the government that has led so many to vote for someone like Trump to just shut it all down. I have many sympathies with the position.
