Now that is unconditional love... Our pets mean the world to us, and there is not a day that goes by where we not hugging and embracing them.
Thomas Sowell put out a great article today showing the difference between individual issues in this election and the true future of America.
"(America) is being quietly but steadily dismantled by the Obama administration as it tries to deal with particular issues."
"When a president can ignore the plain language of duly passed laws, and substitute his own executive orders, then we no longer have “a government of laws, and not of men” but a president ruling by decree, like the dictator in some banana republic."
"...freedom is seldom lost all at once. It is usually eroded away, bit by bit, until it is gone. You may not notice a gradual erosion while it is going on, but you may be shocked to discover one day that it is all gone, that we have been reduced from citizens to subjects, and the Constitution has become just a meaningless piece of paper."
"Obama knows that, if he gets reelected, he no longer needs to worry about what the voters think about anything he does."
This is an excellent article - one that explains, in plain language, why we must defeat Obama, at all costs. We should all heed the warning.
Wouldn't it be great if everyone was that thrilled/excited to see our returning warriors? I think it would!!!!
Dogs are awesome, thanks for sharing.
OT- Obama visited Ohio State again today. When he came two years ago campus basically came to a stop due to people going to see him and it was nearly impossible walk across campus in less than 45-60min (usually takes about 20). Today though the difference amazed me, most students seemed to not know or at least not care that he was here and the overwhelming majority of people talking about it were complaining about him blocking traffic. As a friend of mine put on facebook: "dude obama go home no one likes you"
Gotta have at lease one of each. The Garfield comic strip nailed cats - they're way understated, so many people fail to connect with 'em.
Animals show us how to live life honestly and then die gracefully.
Speaking of nailing cats--this guy knows cats. I'm posting my favorite, but if you go to "films" they're all great! Also a couple of books that are hysterical.
Open thread. Does anyone know the results of the O'Reilly poll asking "Would it be better for the country if a third political party rises up?" He said last Friday (or Thur.) that he'd give the result on Monday. I missed last night's show and the results aren't posted on his website either.
Hey WW09. I really don't know the answer to your question. But, if we're speaking of third parties, then this interview showcases one of its most prodigious and articulate proponents at his best.
The clip is part 1 of 2 and I'd recommend watching the second clip also, which should come up automatically after the first clip is done as it is part of a youtube playlist.
I also recommend starting your viewing of clip 1 at 01:40 minutes and cease it at 26: 59 mins, as that is where the action really commences and ends.
You may ultimately disagree with the content but I thought you might nonetheless like to have a look.
PS Great vid. Those creatures are awe-inspiring. Certainly more endearing than 'President' you-know-who!
If this is an open thread, I think others might like to see this more than heartwarming story of Emma: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hS78Wf0VUi8&feature=player_embedded
I came across it on Jordan Harris's Telegraph blog entry on the possibilities of 3d printing: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/culture/scottharris/100065881/why-3d-printing-and-one-little-girls-magic-arms-should-makes-us-all-glad-to-be-alive/
Enjoy. And don't weep too much.
This is amazing; my brother and one of my sisters were born with arthrogryposis. They had many corrective surgeries to make them relatively ambulatory but my brother has severe scoliosis now at age 61 and losing his mobility and health. Not enough lung capacity for anesthesia now.
I've imagined a fix something like this and have done a lot of Google searches but never came up with this. Thanks, JoPA.
These are always sweet.
I grew up with dogs around the house and now have cats (one of them thinks she's a dog). Dogs have so many "human" qualities and are usually loyal to a fault. These videos warm my heart.
Speaking of dogs, I saw this on the Telegraphs website.
If you click on the giant plus sign ( it will appear to the right) it will advance to further portraits. They are all so cute!
This above is heartwarming too. Going around. I really like it.
I'm not sure which one gets my eyes watering more ... the unconditional love of a dog or the sight of a service member coming home from overseas.
