In a very odd exchange on CNN, Senator Roy Blunt rips into CNN hosts who are asking him to comment on Kellyanne Conway shouting, “go buy Ivanka’s stuff!!” on CNN earlier today.
Sen. @RoyBlunt to media: If you don't want to hear what @KellyannePolls thinks about @IvankaTrump's line, don't ask https://t.co/1Fuh3SYZRb

Now let me say this – I think the Nordstrom’s thing is completely overblown and it’s silly for the media to be pursuing it so vehemently. BUT, it’s equally stupid for Blunt to whine that journalists can’t dislike the answer a politician gives them. Like… what? Does that apply to Democrats too? I doubt it. SO why would he say such a stupid thing? Does he really think a journalist’s job is to ask questions and then smile and never challenge what they hear?
As Berman points out, they’re asking him because you might think that a Senator should give a damn that a White House advisor might be breaking the law:
Here is the federal law Kellyanne Conway just violated by telling people to "go buy Ivanka's stuff." https://t.co/1Uol6BZuWm pic.twitter.com/2tTqB4eKPT

Instead, he throws a tantrum.
I think what he was trying for, and failing at, was a critique on the media finding fault with a Republican and then running out to demand all other Republicans answer for it, when they don’t do that for Democrats. And that’s a fine criticism, but that’s not what Blunt said.
Why are people so bad at speaking, when it’s, y’know, their entire JOB to speak? Amazing.
