David Gergen went off on how the government is supposedly becoming “authoritarian” under Trump, and he cites how kids were assaulted in Florida, and also how dreamer illegal aliens are “under assault” by law enforcement.

No, you’re not, and that’s why idiotic criticisms like these are lumped in with more reasonable critiques of Trump.
I actually was afraid that he would be very authoritarian based on his absurd statements before the election, but a combination of the checks and balances inherent in the American system (thanks founders!) and the GOP holding him back and tamping him down have watered down those tendencies significantly. SO cool it, Gergen….
