It looks like Trump is extending an olive branch to Romney in the form of a potential cabinet position in his administration, if these new reports are true:
JUST IN: Donald Trump will meet with Mitt Romney, one of his fiercest critics, to discuss potential Cabinet role https://t.co/Mbv8CyuCCO pic.twitter.com/MHm5hy2OT1

President-elect Donald Trump will meet this weekend with one of his fiercest critics: 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney, a senior Republican source told CNN on Thursday.
The two men are set to meet this weekend to discuss “governing moving forward” and potentially a role for Romney in Trump’s Cabinet, the source said.
The source declined to specify for which Cabinet positions Romney is under consideration.
Ed Morrissey responds this way:
One thing's for sure: The Trump transition team is making big statements on GOP unity and reconciliation. We'll see if it's just symbolic.

Here’s more reaction from Twitter:
Romney fixing the VA would be a legit great move.

It would be poetry if Mitt, who opposed Trump until the end, gets a Cabinet gig but Newt, Christie, and Carson don't.

What if Mitt Romney walks into Trump Tower carrying a big binder that says "WOMEN" on the cover

Give credit where credit is due: Trump following through on his promise to reach out to those who didn't support him: Cruz, Romney, etc…

Con man. Fake. Phony. Fraud… These are words Romney used to describe Trump earlier this year. https://t.co/R1bBjolrm0

So this should be really interesting…
UPDATE: I hope this isn’t true!
BREAKING: Source familiar w/ Trump's thinking confirms Sunday's meeting w/ Gov. Mitt Romney is to discuss position of Secretary of State.

I don’t know what Trump is thinking if this is what he’s going to ask Romney. For crying out loud, what about Bolton? I know that there are rumors that he’s no longer in contention, but he’s the perfect man of the job!
It’s almost like Trump thinks that since Hillary was Secretary of State, that anybody can do it.
I really hope this is wrong…
