So the Senate passed ObamaCare but they couldn’t pass a budget? Remember, we’re talking over 900 days since the Senate passed a budget and that almost goes back to Obama’s inauguration. The Senate had a super-majority until Scott Brown was elected, but then they were just one vote shy of it. And yet even after that they still managed to get their financial reform bill passed as well as ObamaCare.

All lies. They just don’t want the baggage of a huge Federal budget hanging on the back of Obama going into the 2012 elections, or for that matter their backs too. It’s all about elections and they don’t want the American people to see the truth.

Too late Senate. We see you.

Yes, but Boehner and Cantor won’t do dick about it.

      • patch2012

The house can not do anything about it due to constitutional restrictions where only the Senate can produce the Budget. and the house passes it. That is why the House can not do anything about it. And also why the Democrat House under pelosi didnt do anything about it.

Couldn’t pass a budget, a long term fiscal policy to reign in spending, pass a long term incentive for business to hire, send 2 billion to an offshore brazilian oil company, etc., and the beltways think this clown can’t be beat?

But you have to consider how much information was out there that showed that Obama was a Marxist and he STILL got elected. This guy is getting support for being anti-American at the core. It’s scary to think what people will back in this country all centered around class warfare. When we hand out so much freaking welfare it’s no wonder the Marxist has so much support.

Because the electorate is basically STUPID and do not pay attention to anything – that is why an educated voter is the Democrats biggest enemy – why do you think they make sure the schools churn out idiots all the way through college.

….and why Obama said he wants more social justice in the classrooms and less math and science. He obviously doesn’t care about educating our kids, other than pumping their heads full of the garbage he needs to manipulate them to secure liberal power.

While it may be minor, I am finally pleased with the action of this Congress. Stand your Ground, Boehner, it’s your last chance. Send Dirty Harry a message- “You can’t corner us anymore. You can’t treat the US Congress as if it were the little sister or servant of 100 conceited, overblown and corrupt moral miscreants.”

The House is the peoples’ voice and the Senate is not. The peoples’ house says here’s the plan we want and we believe the people will support it. The Senate has become a useless organ in the body politic.

“Appendix” is a better name for this organ–something still parasitically connected to the tail end of the process, having little function and value. This “appendix” needs to vote the House bill up or down and shut up.

Add: The Seventeenth amendment should be repealed.

      Agreed!

Oh good grief! The House has passed 22+ bills that would start addressing the debt, deficit, and help the economy, but Dirty Harry won’t even bring them up for a vote or send them committee for consideration. WHY? It’s all about politics and NOT what is best for the country. The Senate has blocked everything and is a total failure. Let’s face it they haven’t passed a budget even when they had full control because they don’t want to cut.

    • Anonymous

22+ bills not put up for a vote, yet the libs (Obama, Reid, and Pelosi) tell the public that the Republicans haven’t put any solutions forward. It’s sickening how much of the public believes them.

This political crap that is going on in the Senate is one reason that when the branches of government were set up, the Congress and President was to be appointed by the people through an election and the Senate was to be appointed by the States. By doing this, the people would still control the legislative process and the States would have some in put as to how the laws and regulations would affect them. Now that we have all three appointed by the people we have a lot more bickering going on.
Think about this, would the Obamacare program pass the senate if the states had the opportunity to vote on this? Would they ever have voted yes knowing the additional costs that they were going to obligated to take on? No.
The Senate has not pass a budget for the simple reason that they don’t want the people to realize the situation that we are in. Who is going to get the cuts? Who is going to be eliminated? Where is our money going? These answers would have to be addressed. By not passing a budget they can play more politics because they don’t have to openly share and discuss any information. So much for transparency. :-P

It kinda defeats the purpose of the Senate, doesn’t it? The only difference between the houses is the balance of reps per state. If the Senate didn’t have to pander to the people we would have a much more stable government. Now BOTH houses pander to the people for votes.

      • Darren Anderson

Exactly my point. Why this was ever changed, I don’t know. If it were kept the way it was designed, the Federal Government wouldn’t have grow at the pace it has and the States would have retained more of their rights. Oh how nice would that be.

        • Anonymous

I’m very glad you brought that to our attention. I hadn’t ever thought about it like that, and it’s a crucial perspective now that you mention it. Thank you very much.

“…Would the Obamacare program pass the Senate if the states had the opportunity to vote on this?..”

Good question and the obvious answer is a resounding NO as proven by the fact that a majority of States are now suing the Federal government to repeal it.

We took care of one irresponsible idiot in the House, now it’s time to take care of the other in the Senate…..Harry Reid.

The country is suffering big time and he plays games with us. Like this 2-month tax deal. Any responsible leader knows that it plays havoc on employers to have to deal in short term tax policy and it causes them to delay hiring and other plans. Reid knows it, but he doesn’t give a crap. Making it look as if the Republicans are against the middle class is more important than the health of our nation.

What really disgusts me is when I look at the polls after Reid pulls this crap and the Republicans are getting the blame for the game playing. We MUST strip Reid of his corrupt power in November by making him a minority leader !!

  • Anonymous

These progressive liberal democrats think that the American people will buy the BS they are selling. How many bugets have been submitted to the senate and Reid will not bring up for a vote. Blame the republican, Mr Durbin, harry Reid kept the senate in session so he could pass obamacare. I hope the American people remember that democrats had control of all three branches of government and they passed everything they wanted, but could not pass a budget. My theory is than they would have to take the blame for the mess they got the country in, the dems would not be able to blame the repubs.

They lie with the greatest of ease.

The reason you don’t propose a budget, if I’m reading you correctly, is because you might get opposition from the GOP? That’s like saying we’re not going to fund a military, in effect abandon the military because it might meet with resistance from other countries from time to time. How absurd you liberal Democrats are. You are abrogating your responsibility to the country. The only way you get away with this is because you know your base consists of total morons and you can shovel just about anything down their throats and they wont complain because they don’t want to admit they haven’t a clue.

  • B-Funk

Pass a budget? They wouldn’t know what one is if it hit them between the eyes! These people are ding-dongs! Or, as Levin would say, fecal heads.

The House creates the Budget – The House of Representatives have passed a budget – they have passed two budgets – Harry Reid refuses to bring either to the floor of the Senate to be voted on… The House of Representatives under Nancy Pelosi did not create a budget under Obama at all. The Senate can either pass the budget that the House passed or they write their own pass that and then they compromise on the two bills bring them together and pass that but Harry Reid doesn’t want to. Obama’s budget failed in the Senate no one voted Yea on his budget at all… that is how bad his budget was… they do not want America to see that they changed the base line of the budget to over a Trillion dollars a year and they do not want to scale back that is why they haven’t passed a budget and keep playing the CR games so they can keep the spending the same without the public seeing the numbers in front of their faces.
