E.W. Jackson says he resents a religious test being applied to him

E.W. Jackson defends his comments as a Christian pastor on homosexuality and says they are in no way incompatible with showing respect to all Virginians as Lt. Governor, whether gay or straight. But he does say that he resents that a religious test is being applied to him for his Christian beliefs in this race.

I’ll b voting for him on tuesday

    • Vahon

You’ve got to listen to the convention speech that clinched his nomination for Lt Gov. http://bit.ly/1f75Zts Pray that he, Ken Cuccinelli and Mark Obenshain, all 3 men of integrity, win their elections on Tuesday.

  • FreeManWalking

It is going to take half a thousand of men like this to turn the tide of the dictators in DC.

  • Conservative_Hippie

I’m glad he used the word “persecute,” becuase that is exactly what is happening to this man!

    • PNWShan

And many others. Which city is it in CA that has forbidden from office or contract with the city anyone who has spoken ‘bias’ against homosexuals? This man is right. We are being treated as second class citizens.

      • Conservative_Hippie

Agreed! I thought his response was very well stated. Another thing I noticed is most politicians would dance around the homosexual question; he did not!

  • Conservative_Hippie

The ending was so spot on sweet!

  • $73426719

Him and Alan Keyes would have gone so well together!

  • Kansas Gal

    I like this guy!

  • Carter Cobb

Preached at our church last Sunday and he is the real deal. The man is true to both his word and principals. On a side note, found out the rep party is not too comfortable with his unabashed mentioning of God. Pray for this man and his family.

      Awww….I’m jealous.

  • Steve Angell

I hate how the Gays have destroyed most of the Churches in America. I used to be a Mormon but no more these hateful gays get on the Utah blogs and are the most hateful people I have ever encountered, You are simply not allowed to say anything about the bible and their sinful beliefs.

I now belong to no Church. It is not just them that destroyed the Mormon Church. Mostly it is that it’s leaders will NOT listen to GOD.

    • Laurel

Steve don’t let people ruin God for you. You find more than few on various blogs that prove stereotype unfortunately.

      • Steve Angell

I am closer to Gd than ever.

Just now know the LDS or any other Church I know of is wrong and actually does not serve God.

I want the truth. Not the teachings of men (Satan). Prickling ears I want nothing to do with. God warned us of these days and here we are with no Church respecting him. Instead they make policies to please the most evil people on earth.

        • Laurel

Steve I’m not going to venture as far as to say that no church serves God because I cannot say that with any certainty. There are an awful lot of churches in this world and maybe, just maybe, they serve God imperfectly but still serve him regardless. God knows what is in the heart of every man so if man’s heart is imperfect I will leave it to God to do as God sees fit.

I do understand what you mean though because as my daughter says…”The trouble with organized religion is man.” She made the mistake of in college of attending a church where she caught the minister faking his Bible verses. My daughter has a photographic memory…faking it with her doesn’t fly.

I too have found some serious improprieties but then I remember no one is perfect including me. I try and study religion, all religions, as a history, philosophy, and religion. Am I Christian? Yes, I cannot deny my heart and head but nowhere does God tell me to deny the world around me either.

  • waffle_anna

May this honorable man and Ken Cuccinelli win the governor’s race in VA. Pray hard folks.

    • OHJan

& send contributions directly to them…asap!

      • waffle_anna

Can’t send him contributions since I live outside the US ._. But will ask my Louisiana family members to send him money!

  • Laurel

Unless he says that he wants all homosexuals castrated and tossed in jail with all of their worldly possessions confiscated then the libs need to shut up because it’s a non-issue otherwise.

  • WinMissouri

Wow love this! We should all speak this candidly and straight forward about what we believe in the face of the intolerant gay community.

  • Sentinel

All of this prejudice is beginning to ‘test’ our patience. We serve a loving and almighty God who has given us His Word on how to live our lives. We do it with compassion and charity – serving our fellow man without judgment (Luke 6) and we treat others as we’d like to be treated. Even though Jesus said we would be persecuted for following Him, it’s pretty hypocritical and wrong for them to be so bigoted.

  • Wow. That was a very strong rebuttal.

  • JohnCraven

I think that E. W. Jackson together with my state’s Senator Elbert Guillory, and Lt. Col. Allan West and Dr. Ben Carson can do a lot to turn our nation around despite the persecution and I’ll definitely be praying for them.

    • Dr. Strangelove

Perhaps even because of the persecution if the sheeple wake up.

  • Marky_D

Remember folks, saying that you are bible believing Christian and therefore believe marriage is between one man and one woman makes you a terribly offensive person open to ridicule whereas saying that you are a Koran believing Muslim and therefore believe gays should be tossed from the highest mountain makes you a member of a protected minority whose views must be respected.

  • Dr. Strangelove

    Wow! Tell it!

  • joe

We sure do need more men like Mr. Jackson and Mr. Cuccinelli in office. Go, Virginia, and do the right thing. The Lord is watching you!

  • Josh

    Righteous anger. Preach on!

  • 12grace

Yes, it is now a Hate Crime to believe in the Word.

  • PNWShan

As usual, the reporter is confusing approval with respect.

  • USMC 64-68

I appreciate his stand – for eternal truth vs. the bankrupt ideology of the left.

How different than the wolves in sheep’s clothing the left and Dear Leader trots out to prop up their bankrupt beliefs that are designed to subvert America.
