It’s apparently all the rage right now that Twitter suspended the account of Hope Hicks a day after she became the permanent White House communications director:
CENSORSHIP?

Twitter has SUSPENDED Trump's communications director @HopeHicks45 one day after she was appointed. pic.twitter.com/PVod4OC1WP
But there’s a problem with this, it’s simply not true:
WIRED – The White House has confirmed to WIRED that @HopeHicks45 was never actually Hope Hicks account to begin with. In fact, that’s why it was suspended.
Even Twitter founder Jack Dorsey weighed in in response to one of Jack Posobiec’s tweets: “False. We will verify Hope Hicks when she actually joins Twitter.”
She doesn’t even have a Twitter account; it was an impersonator who was suspended!
And it’s actually a good thing they were suspended considering Hicks just got the big White House job.
Wired goes on to say:
To be fair, whoever did make the fake Hicks account did a decent job giving it the same tone as the official accounts of other Trump administration staffers.
It may have been a good impersonation, but the account was never verified which should have been a clue for those rushing to push this fake news.
Kudos to Wired for doing a little investigation and getting to the truth.
