Earlier Trump kept the war on the media going as he called them “the enemy of the American people” in a tweet he deleted to add more media names.

Not surprisingly, it got a LOT of reaction.
This guy didn’t like it too much:

Nor did a lot of the media and other leftists:
Now we are really getting into dangerous territory here. https://t.co/aGBd0Ydwny

Donald has gone full Bannon. He is basically a rage-filled brain stem that Bannon prods with commands. https://t.co/RpESgAz132

This, against ridiculous competition, is his worst tweet. Criminally dangerous. This is Goebbels in 1933 territory. https://t.co/yJ1s5QCzVV

An attack on a free press by a sitting US president is a slap in the face to democracy, our country's founders and the American people. https://t.co/LgB7AU1209

An attempt by @realDonaldTrump to discredit our news media is textbook fascism. He just wants state controlled media, like Fox + Breitbart. https://t.co/Cl0qRbspY4

Journalists abroad courageously defy dictators and warlords. If necessary, US journalists can stand up to a tweeting Russian poodle. https://t.co/Dddp3nImGX
— Nicholas Kristof (@NickKristof) February 17, 2017
Er, that’s a NYT journalist calling the president a “Russian poodle”? Is that allowed?
Some decent jokes:
Sorry, @washingtonpost. Didn't make the cut. Better luck next time. https://t.co/4iAc1IFQfK

COME ON. It’s the media *are* not the media is. https://t.co/AUf25ETSbH

Some on the right found it too extreme:
In the time it took me to write a post saying Trump found his limit on despicableness, he found a way to double down. https://t.co/X13nvE5awo

This seems unlikely to calm the waters of state. https://t.co/gh5KQwokGt

I have to agree, as I mentioned before. This is just far too combative when we have real enemies we have to deal with. I mean, it’s not exactly fascism, but it IS the kind of a thing a fascist would say. It comes down to just how far Trump is going to take this war on the media, and if he can do it while remaining within the confines established by the Constitution….
