Feds STILL ACCEPTING applications from illegals for OBAMA amnesty, despite Trump’s promise

Earlier we reported on how the Trump administration was appearing to back off from his multiple promises to repeal Obama’s executive action on “Dreamers” and rescind his unconstitutional amnesty.

It’s even worse than that – the feds are STILL accepting applications for the program while Trump dithers about what to do about it.

From CNN:

…days into the new President’s administration, the federal government is still accepting applications for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Known as DACA, the program helps undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children get driver’s licenses, enroll in colleges and secure jobs.

Many expected DACA, which President Obama created with an executive order in 2012, to be one of the first things to go once Trump took office. But although Trump has already signed several executive orders reversing actions of the Obama administration, as of late Tuesday it remained in place.

Steve Blando, a spokesman for US Citizenship and Immigration Services, said in a written statement Tuesday that the agency “is still accepting/processing DACA requests under existing policy.”

So what’s the deal? And why aren’t all those immigration hawks screaming and yelling about this? I guess Trump is too busy whining about the press talking about his inauguration crowd numbers to actually fulfill the promises he made on immigration.

OR maybe he gave in to the “swamp” – some Republicans like Lindsey Graham are looking for a way to keep the program in place, even if it means giving out more deferrals. Has Trump caved already?
