Yesterday we posted the initial reports of what appeared to be a terror attack in Australia. Today police have confirmed that indeed the killing of a police employee by 15-year old Muslim Farhad Jabar Khalil Mohammad was “politically motivated and therefore linked to terrorism”.

Farhad visited Parramatta Mosque where he changed into a black robe in the hours before the killing, according to reports.
The ‘radicalised’ youth was reportedly able to walk unchallenged into the police headquarters and choose his victim.
The 15-year-old first came across a plain clothes female detective who was not carrying a gun, according to reports.
But he then shot Mr Cheng in the back on the head as the veteran of the police finance department was leaving work.
Witnesses have described seeing the teenagers dancing joyously after shooting the ‘gentle’ public servant while shouting Allah Allah.
Over at Weasel Zippers they observe that Obama held up Australia as the example for gun control curbing both violence in general and terrorism specifically. Right away, an Islamic terrorist commits a murder with an illegal gun. An illegal gun.
Additionally, though Farhad himself was not on any lists or being watched by police, he had family members who were on the department’s radar, and it seems his sister had tried to go to Syria the day before the attack.
The Australian Prime Minister was quick to protect the real victims, the Australian muslim community.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said the Australian Muslim community would be appalled and shocked by the attack.
‘We must not vilify or blame the entire Muslim community with the actions of what is in truth a very small percentage of violent extremist individuals.
‘The Muslim community are our absolutely necessary partners in combating this type of violent extremism.’
